  1. Apart from the fact they've got so posh now that they don't allow dogs anymore so have lost some supporters, but of course that doesn't matter at the moment because they're doing okay.
  2. Glad you're back again. I've missed all your lighthearted cheerful posts.
  3. You can bet your life it will be ~ just not in time for him to ride at Leicester. He's probably being wrapped in cotton wool for the weekend at this very moment.
  4. If you're being serious I think you're being unduly pessimistic. We're not that good and Wolves have quite a few riders who usually do well at Coventry, not forgetting Josh Bates who got a good score when guesting for us recently.
  5. Ah....but that's because I've still got it in my 'Treasure Box' along with my Ration Book, I.D. Card, my daughter's belly button plastic thingy when she was born, (bit dried up now after 48 years) son's appendix stitches, (1982) my gallstones (1977) Perhaps I'd better not go on but I'm sure you get the gist.
  6. Thanks SCB as I wouldn't have been able to answer that one. Anything going back more than a few days ~ no chance.
  7. I think his best effort was at Coventry when he had two of our riders off at the same time. Billy Janniro didn't seem to like that move.
  8. lol. I've always had a sense of justice and fair play. Ove was always booed at Leicester and he looked so sad sitting on his own in the pits I felt sorry for him. I can't believe I even used to look in the pits but obviously I must have done back then.
  9. SCB obviously hasn't hasn't spotted this post yet.
  10. Blimey! I'm glad I'm not interested in averages and statistics as I'm afraid you've all lost me now. Median, mean, range?
  11. I'm not so sure that Ove took the boos as cheerfully as Nicki does though. When I was in my impressionable teens ~ and yes that was a long time ago ~ I felt so sorry for him looking really sad in the Leicester pits that I wrote to him via his club in Sweden and received a very nice air mail letter back from him. Still have it in fact.
  12. Yes, and unfortunately for him I am still going strong.
  13. If you want the feeling to continue there are a few more he has deleted as well. Perhaps he's been threatened with the sack and reminded of the Secrets Act he signed at the beginning of the season.
  14. I wouldn't be so sure about that. They might understand the reasons but are you sure they won't bear a grudge? Greg Hancock never forgave Colin Pratt for dropping him from the Coventry team when he had to choose between him and Billy Hamill.
  15. Really brought it home to me when I received a Facebook email yesterday reminding me that it was Shazzy's birthday soon.
  16. It's as if everyone has had to sign the official secrets act as to who exactly is in charge of track preparation on Sky nights. No-one seems to know which scenario is actually correct and no-one is willing to say anything. Even tsc1 has been going around deleting his posts.
  17. Can I join this club please? Given the choice between dragging 10 children along and giving them an air horn each or 10 dogs, I'd choose dogs every time and I'm pretty sure I could get them all to sit and stay still all evening.
  18. We used to stay every year Friday to Sunday at a very nice hotel in Cardiff who allowed us to leave Jemma in the room for the evening. Lots of walking in Sophia Gardens on GP day, playing with a ball on The Castle grass - she was ready for a sleep when we got back to the hotel. Sunday was spent at Porthcawl before driving home. Happy memories.
  19. Which one? He quoted Barrow Boy's post but doesn't seem to have replied to it.
  20. Seems to be contradicting opinions here. I very much doubt if Glyn will comment but I have an idea tsc1 might know exactly what he's talking about.
  21. Speedway promoters take note. You know things are getting bad when fans like Beowulf are starting to lose interest.
  22. Hope it's not Swindon again as they're back for Leicester's next home meeting in 12 days time. Who on earth sorts out the fixture list? Surely it is possible to plan things so as not have the same team in opposition 2 weeks running?
  23. You'll be okay as long as a stray Rocket doesn't head your way after re-bounding on the roof.
