  1. Sleep in peace Shazzy. I remember you scaring this person somewhat back in 2003. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150149821492785&set=a.10150148628652785.325833.550797784&type=3&theater
  2. Yes, we just needed a quick shelter under the hedge for a couple of minutes and it was all over thank goodness. Amazing sky beforehand though.
  3. She is asking if the person stayed after the meeting and listened to what Scott and Jason talked about as they sorted things out over a cup of tea. Simple.
  4. I think he's referring to this on June 23rd. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=79576 Riders were just testing out the track so I very much doubt if full scorers will be released. Doesn't really matter anyway does it......or perhaps it does to some people? Edit.....All my pratting around getting the thread and now I've been beaten to it.
  5. You're joking. He's from 'Up North' ~ couldn't understand a word he said.
  6. Sorry but I disagree, if only for the fact I'm looking forward to seeing what happens if the sun is shining and there is the usual 30 minute delay. Hope Kelvin and Nigel have got plenty of things lined up to talk about.
  7. Shame they didn't open the gate then. No 2 minutes time allowance was put on for the re-run ~ I think the referee must have nodded off.
  8. Brilliant match tonight ~ restores your faith in E.L. speedway. Well done to Bomber and Joonas for pulling it out of the bag in heat 15.
  9. I can't do mid week meetings and don't have Sky either so sadly I missed seeing all the little angels and their air horns. I've never forgotten a few years ago when there were hoards of Cubs and Scouts all over the place as there was some sort of Convention going on. Hopefully it will be the same on July 12th when Panthers ride against Scunthorpe and 'Just Dogs Live' is also at The Showground. I can't wait.
  10. I think you've got some of the words in the wrong order? "And half the season is spoilt by having Mr Darcy Ward." There....that's better. Doesn't really matter anyway because there is not a cat in hell's chance of him riding for the Bees thank goodness.
  11. I've never seen a bad P.L. meeting there either and I've been to a few this season. Haven't got Sky so not seen the match but judging by the comments the racing presumably isn't very good. I wonder who was in charge of the track preparation? Kids anywhere are annoying.
  12. Was there never any chance of David Howe coming back to Peterborough? Seems a hell of a journey up North to Scotland for his home matches.
  13. Ah....thanks as I thought it was in the late 70's. I think we must have been on holiday in Yorkshire for us to have been there so my daughter would have been 13 and son 10 and we probably bribed them with the fair afterwards - presuming it was still open in 1980?
  14. Or a promoter deliberately feeds someone a load of rubbish knowing they will repeat it on here, then sits back and has a laugh about them being so gullible.
  15. The worst I can remember was between Mike Lohmann and Mick McKeon at Hyde Road in the 70's. I can't recall who did what first but the other rider retaliated on the next bend and they both ended up in the fence. This is one crash that has stuck in my mind because it was obviously a deliberate fencing attempt but he must have got it all wrong as they both ended up injured.
  16. That's brilliant and the way to get more fans in. If only he'd let my dog in for a fiver I'd be there.
  17. So why can't they all wear tinted goggles then? I can't be doing with all this hanging around - 40 minutes at Kings Lynn when we were there for the Coventry match. Yes, it will be interesting to see what happens at Leicester and if Sky are happy to wait around while the sun goes down.
  18. No doubt it will be the same scenario that happened at Kings Lynn during the World Cup when strangely the meeting carried on regardless without a sunbreak because the Sky cameras were there. We'll see.
  19. Or the view of Barry Briggs with just a sticker on his bum......if I remember correctly? Yet again something else The White Knight is missing out on by not being on Facebook. He'll be distraught.
  20. I've finally been able to watch a video of this match courtesy of a friend as we were on holiday so missed all the excitement. My opinion, although probably no-one is particularly interested now but everyone else seems to have had their say so I'm going to anyway, is that the track looked surprisingly good when the match started. It shouldn't have carried on to heat 10 though and ought to have been called off after 8 heats as by then the track was dangerous and visibility must have been awful for the riders. I can understand Poole wanting to carry on though and no doubt Coventry would have felt the same way if they were in the lead. Shame as it would have been a cracking match in good weather.
  21. Oh no. I thought he was getting it sorted out this time. Saw him a few weeks ago at Peterborough when he was hobbling around on crutches but was due to have his operation that week. Wish him a speedy recovery.
  22. Perhaps if they'd allow a black Dog to attend their luck might change.
  23. I'm fully expecting Leicester to put up a good show with Zengota in the team and reckon it will be a lot closer than some people might think. Might be a surprise result here.
  24. Can't remember any mention of champagne, fireworks and showers in the official meeting summary of the Final by Poole in 2010. We didn't even get to see the usual match report on here as Steve Shovlar went missing as well. Sometimes things just get overlooked.
