Shame you weren't at last week's Coventry v Belle Vue match as that really was a genuinely great speedway meeting so well done to both sets of riders 'cos it takes two teams to make a good meeting. Swindon are obviously either poor at the moment or reducing averages. I suppose we'll find out soon which it is. I'm wondering if this was the one whose owner was asking in the General Discussions area if dogs are allowed at Leicester? They posted afterwards that they were sitting in the sunshine at the track. I think if visiting fans turn up with a dog they probably allow it in so perhaps if I wear my Coventry Bees scarf they'll let Lucy in. What do you reckon my chances are? Seriously though if I could have her with me now Ray doesn't attend anymore I'd be there every week.

Yes July 12th was one of the dates the Panthers were given and the landlords must have known 'Just Dogs Live' was on the same date as long as I have, which is almost 12 months. Can't see what the problem is with a 5pm start time for the speedway as I should think the dog show would be over by then and I can't remember them using any area near the track before anyway.

Probably in lieu of a few more bricks.

Not odd really but best not to say anything about the track as some of the fans get a bit uptight. What I want to know is was there a sun break? If not why not because there is every other time the sun shines and it was certainly shining brightly today.

Well sod me!! I asked ages ago if this meeting would go ahead because 'Just Dogs Live' was on that weekend and was told yes it would so we decided to kill two birds with one stone and go to both on the Sunday rather than making 2 trips to Peterborough. Bah!!

Yes, we just needed a quick shelter under the hedge for a couple of minutes and it was all over thank goodness. Amazing sky beforehand though.

I can't do mid week meetings and don't have Sky either so sadly I missed seeing all the little angels and their air horns. I've never forgotten a few years ago when there were hoards of Cubs and Scouts all over the place as there was some sort of Convention going on. Hopefully it will be the same on July 12th when Panthers ride against Scunthorpe and 'Just Dogs Live' is also at The Showground. I can't wait.

I've never seen a bad P.L. meeting there either and I've been to a few this season. Haven't got Sky so not seen the match but judging by the comments the racing presumably isn't very good. I wonder who was in charge of the track preparation? Kids anywhere are annoying.

Was there never any chance of David Howe coming back to Peterborough? Seems a hell of a journey up North to Scotland for his home matches.

Ah....thanks as I thought it was in the late 70's. I think we must have been on holiday in Yorkshire for us to have been there so my daughter would have been 13 and son 10 and we probably bribed them with the fair afterwards - presuming it was still open in 1980?

Or a promoter deliberately feeds someone a load of rubbish knowing they will repeat it on here, then sits back and has a laugh about them being so gullible.

The worst I can remember was between Mike Lohmann and Mick McKeon at Hyde Road in the 70's. I can't recall who did what first but the other rider retaliated on the next bend and they both ended up in the fence. This is one crash that has stuck in my mind because it was obviously a deliberate fencing attempt but he must have got it all wrong as they both ended up injured.

That's brilliant and the way to get more fans in. If only he'd let my dog in for a fiver I'd be there.
