No backtracking from me. I wrote it so I know it was a jokey comment ~ I blame my warped sense of humour and Matt Ford.

Coventry V Leicester 19/6/15

I wonder if James will be riding? He must be pretty battered and bruised after his crash at Poole even though thankfully nothing is broken. -

Birmingham V Coventry Storm 17th June
Gemini replied to guitar_art's topic in National League Speedway
Perhaps we're still recovering from The National League Four's. -
Yes, they are.......with one or two exceptions. My comment about the drum was obviously a joke so no real need to call Coventry fans aggressive.
-
Fans not teams.
-
No. It was a joke but obviously Poole fans have no sense of humour after years of being paranoid everyone is against them.
-
Certainly was. £30 down the drain this afternoon as unfortunately the other half went as well. Riders continually falling off, even twice in the same race for a couple of them, awful music, long silences when we didn't know what the hell was going on and why there was a delay. Totally cheesed off ~ it's not often I leave a meeting before the end.
-
Afraid I'd want want paying to attend another one of these meetings. Awful advert for N.L. speedway. Is it over yet? I left after yet another crash half way through the final 8 races.

Must admit to not seeing Greaves too often this season but whenever I have he seems to have difficulty in staying on for 4 laps. He looked a great prospect when riding in the second halves at Brandon a couple of years ago.
-
If someone sat next to me with a drum they'd get one of the sticks shoved somewhere to shut them up.
-
That just about sums it up.
-
Not bad though for 24 heats surely? Don't know about the riders being paid peanuts but if they are there must be a lot of them who'd rather ride speedway than get a 'proper' job for more money. Better make sure I bring my sunglasses.
-
But why should one man ~ the track curator at the time ~ mean Coventry can't ever hold the meeting again?

I do love this forum - always good for a laugh. Suggesting he treats people with respect yet in the same post you called him 'a nutter.'

Can't really comment as I'm on holiday so wasn't there, but judging by the comments it sounds like a complete shambles now I've managed to get through the thread by getting up at 4.30am and managing to get on the internet for more than a few minutes. That's obviously where I've been going wrong before. It's all very well having a lovely cottage next to the Peak Forest Canal but I can't be doing with useless internet signals. Home tomorrow to catch up with everything.

Fortunately I am on holiday in the Peak District. Mind you it was just the same weather in Bakewell so they still got soaked.

Panthers V Berwick 29/5/2015 Premier League 7.30pm
Gemini replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well done indeed to the promotion. if any fans are staying away because they prefer the E.L. you don't know what you are missing as the racing is just as good, if not better. The Peterborough track always provides great racing. Love it. -

Sensible. Shame Kings Lynn don't do that, in fact no interval at all after a delayed start like it was when we were there for the Coventry match. Put us off going again. -

Don't say Peterborough are going to start having sun delays as well? Just when I thought I was turning into a Panthers fan, although admittedly only on Sunday's as I am at Coventry on Friday's. I'm not going to like all this hanging around and more tractor action than speedway races. -
Perhaps I'm getting less patient in my old age but I wouldn't go to Kings Lynn again after my visit a few weeks ago as I can't be doing with all these delays. I don't know how the Stars fans put up with it.

Poole V Kings Lynn - Wednesday 3rd June.
Gemini replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Shame because it would be nice to encourage a bigger crowd. With the terracing being so big the place always looks half empty anyway. They'll be a gap on the 4th bend too as unfortunately I'm away. -
Swindon Robins V Coventry Bees 26th May 2015
Gemini replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Don't know how they managed that as we only got as far as the car park. Paid the fee and the two stewards on the gate made a fuss of the dogs but at the next checkpoint charlie we were told we couldn't stay and that there was a lay by up the road we could use. I knew the dogs would just go to sleep as they'd been running around all day but no way would I leave them out of sight. As it happened when the steward had finished escorting us out we took a wrong turn and ended up behind the stadium still in the car park so instead of going back to the Travel Lodge we did get to see the match. Anyone that knows me and Lucy will know that she goes to sleep on her blanket. In fact on Monday the Thompson twins dad walked by and said 'How can she go to sleep with that noise?' Well, that's probably the reason why Thomas (Peterborough) and Edward (Coventry) are quite famous but Lucy isn't because she's so boring and doesn't watch the racing. -

Before they start I presume someone will get a compass out and make sure the track is the right way round to avoid the low sun? Don't need any more with problems like Leicester and Kings Lynn, not that it will bother me as I can't go to Swindon now. Good luck with the new stadium though. I suppose the jobsworth stewards will be transferring over there and the 'no dogs' policy will still be in force?
