  1. The Stars fans must be a patient lot because one visit to Kings Lynn is going to be enough for me this season. I couldn't stand all this hanging around every time the sun is shining. Most fans arrive about 15/20 minutes before a match starts so it's an hour or more before watching a race. It's the same at Leicester, although their sun must be a bit different because there's usually a few races before a break. Like you say, surely they could sort something out that wouldn't cost the earth to block the low sun?
  2. I was surprised how poor Hansen was as I was expecting him to do much better than that. I don't know anything about Barrett so can't comment but Nathan Grieves did seem out of his depth at this level and he does tend to fall off in at least one race whenever I've seen him ride.
  3. Feel very sorry for the Glasgow fans who had made plans to be there. I'm also wondering what will happen to the fixture due on July 12th against Scunthorpe and whether this will be called off nearer the date being as there will be dogs all over the place. Just Dogs Live is at The Showground on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I'm hoping to attend on the Sunday so I don't have to make two journeys on consecutive days.
  4. Very good. Okay fair enough. Must admit so far my Sunday visits have been very enjoyable but excessive track grading during a match is one of my pet hates and it seemed this time there were more laps by the tractors than bikes.
  5. Now I didn't want to moan but being as you've mentioned it first. Why did we see more laps by the tractors than riders and what good did they do? First time I've seen a raker abandon his rake and attempt to kick the piles of shale to one side. I just can't understand all this track grading and it drives me mad. Apparently there was a Truckfest or something last weekend but there didn't seem to be much of a problem with the track at the start of the match to warrant the continual grading which seemed to make things worse anyway. Hope there were no newcomers to the sport there today.
  6. Perhaps when the meeting is re run it will be when Bees don't have a match. Fingers crossed.
  7. Possibly the reason was because of his long track commitments on some weekends? He would certainly have been a brilliant addition to the team though as he seems to like the Leicester track. Anyway, hands off now as we love him at Coventry.
  8. It's bad enough with one man but all those men in a confined space? I agree there will be quite a lot of wind blowing over from the pits.
  9. Garrity rides for Coventry on Friday's so would miss too many matches. I thought he'd also already signed for a Premier League team but with my memory no chance of me remembering which one.......if he actually has. Edit......Just checked and it's Sheffield so I see what you mean about Belligo, but that still leaves the problem of missing matches because of Coventry.
  10. Yes, it is drizzling in Leicester - that's my new word for rain. Copyright SCB but I don't care - sue me. Correct decision to call the match off early to save us all travelling. Not much fun standing in the drizzle watching riders try to tackle an already soaked track after all the drizzle since Monday. MInd you it might have been worth the admission fee to see Troy have another whinge. This Evening and Tonight: Coventry.Dull and wet this evening, with outbreaks of rain. Remaining cloudy overnight, although the rain will tend to become lighter and less persistent as the night wears on.
  11. Doesn't mean a lot at this stage though as there's still a couple of days to go. If the Leicester team is going to be full of guests I think I'll save my money for Peterborough on Sunday.
  12. Or blowing his nose with his dirty blue cloth and then wiping it all over this head and face. No wonder he's got spots.
  13. They obviously don't but it's time they got the message. The last away match I attended was Kings Lynn v Coventry and I won't be in a hurry to go back for the 'B' fixture. 40 minute delay waiting for the sun to go down - okay that's reasonable but if it's a regular problem why not start at 8pm instead of 7.30pm? Standing around in a bitterly cold wind was not much fun. Heat 11 Iverson took out Chris and Danny on the 1st bend so the race needed to be re-run but not before the 2 Bees riders sorted out their damaged machinery. So why not bring the interval forward one heat to have it during the delay? But no we have to wait and then have an interval after the next heat. Drives me mad all this messing around. Just get on with it! 15 heats - no interval to keep the match flowing.
  14. Drizzle is a light liquid precipitation consisting of liquid water drops smaller than those of rain – generally smaller than 0.5 mm (0.02 in) in diameter.[1] Drizzle is normally produced by low stratiform clouds and stratocumulus clouds. Precipitation rates from drizzle are on the order of a millimetre per day or less at the ground. Owing to the small size of drizzle drops, under many circumstances drizzle largely evaporates before reaching the surface and so may be undetected by observers on the ground. Definitely detected more than drizzle falling into that big puddle on the centre. But hey ho...... never any point in arguing with a man because I've learnt from experience that they just make up any old rubbish to get their point across. So okay it was just drizzling with rain all night and the riders are a load of wimps for not completing the 15 heats.
  15. Well you can bet your life it won't be for Coventry so that narrows it down a bit. Better leave Taffy at home as dogs aren't allowed.
  16. What's happened to SCB? Not like him to miss the chance of a good argument by ignoring questions asked.
  17. Who is this Adrian Flux? I noticed it had changed from the Norfolk Arena when we were there last Wednesday.
  18. Drizzling? It might have started off like that at 7.30pm but it soon became a steady downpour throughout the match. It was also chucking it down all the way home to Leicester. So what you are saying then is you'd rather it was called off altogether and there was no attempt to try to run it? If so you wouldn't be on here complaining the promotion had taken your entrance money with no intention of running the meeting and left us standing around in the cold and wet while a decision was made. Or another option - call it off about 4pm to stop people travelling as the weather forecast was poor. Take your pick. I was also under the impression you've been coming to Brandon a few times this season so which of the last 2 matches out of the 3 you've attended have you not seen the match completed? As far as I can see they've all run their course, apart from the Chris Harris Testimonial which was rightly called off way before the start time.
  19. I didn't know Hans was going to be missing. So if guests are allowed for both riders Leicester will be strengthened then. What's Rory doing at the weekend? He seems to like riding against Coventry.
  20. Are you still banging on about this? Not seen anyone agreeing with you yet as it was the obvious decision to put us all out of our misery. And think of a better comparision because the one you've given is stupid.
  21. Yes, bit of a worry this match as Swindon always seem to be our bogey team. Perhaps a bit of rain (but not too much) might be in order to put the whingeing Aussie off again.
  22. Okay I'm being a bit thick I know, but that's not really anything unusual so I will ask......what the hell is the 'surprise evacuation procedure test'?
  23. I didn't and neither did the couple I was standing with. I changed my programme number 7 from James Wright to Steve Boxall at the beginning of the match and presumed that's who it was all the way through, especially with confirmation from Peter York. Oooops!
