  1. Track was overwatered and was tricky for the riders early on.Eastbourne looked likely winners most of the night especially when Kent were reduced to three riders, young Jack Thomas,s bike giving up as early as race one..Danny Ayers continued his recent much improved form and is starting to look a rider with higher grade potential, now ,,next season could be big for him..Marc Owen looked especially sharp from the gate tonight ,and will be looking to repeat this form in the two matches against the Raiders this weekend..Danno Verge had a good night scoring 7points replacing Kyle Hughes unwell,,will he ride tomorrow,,,Ben Morley gave his second bike a run out tonight, and it took a while to get dialled in ,but finishing with two fast wins, one over Bradley Wilson dean who was also beaten by Danny Ayers earlier,, James Shanes had little help from the slick track and was not as effective as usual.Decent performances from Tom Bacon and Connor Mountain for Mildenhall ,,,Stoke struggled to have an impact on the result..In truth not a great meeting,,,bit processional although the track did not help,,Eastbourne deserved winners,,crowd getting close to average I suppose,,Exciting prospects for Kent fans next year if all goes to plan...
  2. I believe work will go ahead on improving the track ,soon ..certainly needs it at the moment there is only one racing line.and the base needs work to get the top surface to bind to it better and some banking will be needed to creat racing lines..Without which I do not see Elite league riders being to happy to ride there...Will it be carried out to an exceptable ,level,,? Maybe if the funding is in place ..?
  3. The 12 rider format as has been said above is the cheap way to run an individual and invariable consists of a poor cheap line up,,result is usually a rubbish meeting..with an equally poor attendance which it deserves ...In my opinion
  4. I think the majority of posters on here agree that the fairest format is the 20 heat top scorer wins...with run offs for tied places of course...The semi,s and final formats were brought in because the powers that be think it creates more excitement at the end of a meeting..However it is not as fair,,,it's a bit like the end of season play off,s for the league champions,,same reasoning applies?? I know which I prefer in both circumstances and it ain't the semi,s and finals or play off,s
  5. Totally agree with Shads on this, some people are confusing a locker,or unwanted lock up,with a controlled cut back regularly used by Ben as a tacticle move..
  6. Attacking riders are not trying to scare the rider in front they are trying to put them under pressure to make a mistake...Adam and Ben are both class acts at this level and have great respect for one another, having been team mates at Lakeside.
  7. The.riders told me there was plenty of dirt early on. But as the meeting progressed they had to move out wide to find it..This is pretty much the norm at most speedway meetings.and I would suggest that the riders know what they are talking about...
  8. As Ben,s grandad I feel so proud of him.15point max you can,t do better than that..so many times the bridesmaid in the past but it all came good tonight.Congratulations also to his mum and dad who help to keep his bikes in top condition,,and all those who have supported him with so much enthusiasm....
  9. Am.i on the right topic I thought this was the Silver Ski trophy but apparently it is about team building at Eastbourne next year,,,,,could be more interesting I suppose ?
  10. I was not there but Cris Gay holds the tapes far to long which invariable results in long drawn out meetings with numorous reruns ..One of the worst of a bad bunch of refs on today's circuit....
  11. Big Balls,Arsenfire,,BigBalls Arsenfire,,on and on ..Boring Boring Boring..Grow up!!!
  12. Not the best line up for an individual meeting, expect the crowd to be down and the weather looks iffy,,what's it like in Kent?
  13. I see we have no Baseby again it really is becoming a joke his unavalability.Good luck to all the boys tonight
  14. Can not see a thread for.this match can not see beyond a home win .but Kents top end look stronger ,so some good racing in prospect
  15. Agree Hughes has been back to his best lately and on his home track is right in there with the best of them..
  16. I suggest everyone should expect the unexpected all round, next season?
  17. The piddle town express struggles in with the fast gaters you can have your bet on with me.
  18. I would not rule out friday night elite league racing yet ?
  19. Yes heat 15 was completed eventually. After the third attempt Hugh's and Ayres excluded first bend falls..Morley beat Branford
  20. Kings long tail was again the reason for this latest defeat to a Raiders team with strength in depth..Score .. was 40-49..I know I'm biased being Ben Morley,s grandad ,,but I thought this was his best performance ever at Central Park a 15 point max beating. Rob Branford 3 times and Kyle Hughes 4 times in the meeting ,,and they were not all trap to line victory,s either .battling for his points is what impressed me the most..Another battler Danny Ayers scored 7 points,.James Shane's 4.points had an off night and always struggles in heat 13 any way..A sort of unnoticed 6 points for Aaron Baseby, but seems to always win that one race..Adam Sheperd chipped in with 4 plus 1 and Danno verge was unlucky with an engine failure without which would have doubled his 2 points ..Ben Basford had bike problems and looked very slow in his two completed races..Branford Hughes and Priest all looked impressive for the Raiders who fully deserved their victory,,Crowd looked about average to me and the track according to Ben was good..
  21. Tonight's brilliant result for Kings Ben Morley and Danny Ayres shows that consistency is what counts in pairs competitions.through the card and no last places was the key..Felt for Rob and Kyle who were immaculate in the qualifying races, but a last place in their semi did for them..
  22. Meeting off ,,water logged track..see kent website.
  23. Real shame how it's turning out at Rye House..Andrew is just what was needed to revitalise the place..Now he's gone and whatever the conflicts were its a pity it could not have been sorted in house..Speedway in General is on a slippery downhill slide.and this may well excellerate the process in Hertfordshire..I know Andrew quite we'll and we regularly have a chat..I also am aware of the respect the riders had for him and his wife..I wish him we'll for the future, wether that includes involvement in Speedway remains to be seen ?
  24. Personally and it's only my opinion I don't think that Aaron is sufficiently committed to the Kings to retain his place far to many cry offs..However there does not seem to be any riders at that level available, to replace him..It does leave us very weak on far to many occasions for my liking..
  25. Cracking meeting the race between Bradley and James was the best I have seen this season. The score of 37--55', looks a bit one sided and it was ,but some of the racing knocked the higher leagues in to a cocked hat.Unfortunately several starts we're pulled back by the ref mr Holt ,all of which looked like perfect starts to me and others from our vantage point on the inner track just in front of the start line.i really do dispare at the moment of the state of refereeing in our sport. Spiller looked very good,,to good in fact to come in to this league on a 3 point average another ridiculous ruling by the idiots who run the sport he scored 17 plus 2 bonus from 7 rides and was the main difference between the teams, But you can't blame Eastbourne for taking advantage of the laughable rules,,with this team they can challenge for the league title
