  1. Thanks for that MDMC hope he makes a quick recovery..
  2. It's a great line upat this level and on the night any one of the top10 or so could win ,,should be a brilliant nights racing..
  3. We'll we scraped home47-45 after what ,can only be described as a comedy of errors, has any team thrown away so many points as kings tonight..Thank heavens for Ben Morley 17 points inc tactical..James Shane's. 11 plus 2 bonus,,,Aaron Baseby 7 plus 1 ,,Danny Ayers finally came good after chucking 6 points away, finishing with 2 wins,,,Ben Basford continues to improve a puncture costing him a point in his last ride..Buxton are one of the weaker teams so next week against Eastbourne is looking like a mountain to climb...?.
  4. Kent should be good enough to take this one but could be close if Liam Carr performs to his capabilities round here weather should be ok. With showers only forecast for late morning
  5. Easy win for the Raiders..Kyle and Ben looking untouchable with a max and a paid max .Though the racing was a bit strung out there was some entertaining moments from Danyon.,while Alfie bo looked good, and also producing the wheelie of the year. down the back straight,,how he stayed on was amazing and still came second in the race I don't know,Luke Priest had bike problems and not at his best...While Luke Chessell really must learn to keep off the dry marbles where he threw away points with unecessary falls..Sam chipped in with a few points as we'l.Mildenhal look weak this season and when Dan Halsey is having a bad one they really struggle, though Conner Mountain put in a decent performance with 9 points..
  6. All the kings did their bit tonight just shows they can win matches when the lower order score a few..Ben Morley mounted on a freshly tuned engine looked a cut above the rest on his way to a 15 point max the highlite of which was a superb outside pass of Danny Halsey..in heat one. Danny ayers was solid,so was Aaron basby ,,but the track had little dirt to assist James Shane's so not one.of his best nights but the effort was there as usuall ..Ben basford would have scored more but for a fall when leading the reserves race and another when lying third.,,and Adam shepherd showed improved speed mounted on an engine that gave him more confidence score 52-41 and a lot of positives tonight....
  7. Little or no chance of James going to Eastbourne,,uncle Len would have a blue fit,James is such a crowd puller with his attacking balancing act,,he's worth his weight in gold...and is a Kent asset!!!
  8. Meeting completed an unless I've missed it,nothing on here.comfortable win for Stoke against 3man team,,any one out there seen this was there any one in the stadium tonight?.
  9. Vic Meldrew over all i would agree with you 3-2 to Greenwood so far ..My award however was just on the LAURELS night which was 2-1 to Ayers... The looney bin awaits the overall winner time will tell.....??
  10. Read my post again Gustix,, CROWD SIMULAR TO LAST WEEK
  11. One or two kamakarzy pilots on show tonight of course another useless ref was inconsistent in judging the wipe outs,,but he got the last one in the final right when Simon Lambert was wiped out when leading, by Dan Greenwood who had been on the recieving end earlier in the meeting himself,,Danny Ayers being excluded in that one,, and the race had to be awarded, ,the curfew had expired any way,,Lambert being named the winner and well deserved to. Little to say about the rest ,The Nicky Pedersen award going to Danny Ayers who somehow managed to finish runner up and Cris Widman was 3rd ... Withdrawalls during the meeting were James Shanes after a nasty looking 1st bend bunching incident and Bradley Wilson Deans who had machinary problems Basby looked quick tonight and Ben Morleys run of diabolical ref decisions lately continued tonight ..Crowd simular to last week..Note there is NO MEETING AT CENTRAL PARK NEXT MONDAY !!!
  12. What ever the merits of speed comparison he did not have to put his team mate in the fence when he was coming by ,,If you were not there dont make pointless comments if you were there you could not fail to see what happened..
  13. Thought that myself Gustix,,Speedway apathy i guess ?
  14. Outclassed they were in many departments but they still put on a good show for the fans result Kent 36 team Fritte Denmark 54...The ludicrous decision to ride Luke Bowen at no2 curtailed the points potential of the Kings even further, you dont put your two top riders in the same race all night they can not both win the race?? , in fact with Kent on a 5-1 in heat one Luke Bowen (guesting) puts Morley in the fence on turn 2 Ben did well to stay on, but went back to last... Some spirited winning rides from James Shanes had the crowd on their feet And Bowen won 4 rides mainly at the expense of Ben..But the rest of the team could,nt cut the mustard against a side with strength in depth who obviously enjoyed the experience and took to the track like a duck to water The crowd looked about average i would say and the meeting flowed without any major incidents...
  15. I was there Jonny the Spud, and i can tell you Adam,s gating was electric, must have had his set ups spot on and he looked quick and solid tonight..I think this was his best performance ,that i have seen around Lakeside anyway.. The team rode well and deserved to win the match ,, But the track got very dusty in the second half on a very warm evening..
  16. I would expect the Raiders to take this one,,, Rob Branford is still out so Ben Morley guest,s
  17. I am out on the center green during meetings and have a panoramic view of the stand and can pretty well compare one meetings crowd numbers with another,,But it makes sense for the promotion to play up the numbers a bit..It does vary a little according to the visiter support and goes up and down a bit,,How ever i dont see a worrying trend developing as yet, and hopefully mondays win and a well run meeting,, ( ref excepted !! ) will give numbers a boost in the following weeks
  18. Well we won 46-41 in front of a smallish crowd ,but im sure if the ref could have found some more decisions to give against the Kings he would have..Another appalling ref this time Mick Bates .. While Dan Greenwood was the quickest rider here to night and has made great strides this season, his Nicky Pedersen style boring under riders managing to knock off Ben Morley in heat 13 and then virtually flatten Danny Ayres in heat 15 ,,instead of excluding Greenwood he excludes Morley and Ayers much to the disgust of the fans ..I do not think we have had a single refs decision in our favour in the last 3 meetings...While every fan except probably one or two Coventry fans thought Ben Morley had definately won heat fifteen,he gives the verdict to Greenwood UGHHH !! Ben even did a celebration lap . Still a team wins a win i suppose and there was some good racing tonight for the long suffering fans..In the Bronze Helmet match race Greenwood comfortably beat Danny Ayers,, We could well have Jack Smith son of Andy ex top rider,,back next week as he is returning from a trip to Australia .. God knows which awfull ref we will get next week,, worst case scenario Babs Horley........
  19. I agree today should be a good chance of a win,, if the bottom end can get points against the Coventry reserves as they should be capable of ..However a better showing today may raise false hopes when most other teams visit,, and just delay what needs to be done,,ie strengthen the team!!
  20. Unfortunately for the kent promotion their 3 pointers have not made the improvement that some in, other teams have,, and now there just are not the riders out there that are any better than we have, hence the almost impossible chance of improving the team ..I suggest they try a different rookie every week in the slight hope that one of them might click...I personally believe the points limit was set to low this season leaving no flexibility for the bottom end of teams ,which is now causing an inbalance of the different teams capabilities, with Kent coming out really badly from the situation..I put this down to the incompetence of those running this sport,, as are most of the problems affecting speedway in this country...
  21. Another farcical meeting at central park tonight ,only 12 races compleated before the curfew..With poor David Mason laying on the track for over half an hour with a suspected serious ankle injury and insufficient Ambulance cover to get him to hospital and continue the meeting at the time...Another abysmal referee Cris Durno making some bad decisions all by the way against the Kings And the team taking a considerable beating from a much better team with strength in depth And a rider in Bradley Wilson Dean who looked a cut above the rest The track was rubbish as usual with only one line making passes almost impossible unless someone made a bad mistake... How much more of this will the fans take before finding better things to do on a Monday evening.....
  22. If there were better riders out there then you could blame the promotion for not strengthening the team..All they can do at the moment is to give one or two a chance that may turn out better , or not ..but they have to be seen to be trying to improve the team or the fans will start to dissappear.... Good luck to Ben Bansford today..I think Eastbournes, bottom end will be to strong for us to get a result but you never know?
  23. The track should have been bladed off at least 2 hours earlier than it was ...Only pressure from the riders and others with a few brain cells finally got the job done..Along drawn out meeting with numourous crashes and air fence repairs ,plus a totally unneeded long interval would have done nothing to encourage any first time visitors to return .Indeed the track now devoid of dirt produced poor racing Gate 4 was a grave yard unless you had an easy heat when on it, as did Joe Jacobs who looked very sharp on his return to racing though the ref did let him get away with a couple of rollers so the meeting panned out right for him ,,,unlike Ben Morley who had two gate fours against stiff opposition where he dropped a couple of points but produced a great ride in heat 20 to make the final where again Joe had choice of gates which proved vital in the final Jon Armstrong was solid all meeting,,. to also make the final,,Dan Halsey also looked good too,... a fall wrecking his final chances and Kyle Hughes and Connor Coles rode well ,,,I suppose to their credit they did eventually get the meeting on after the morning rain,,But on my visits this year the track has been poor...
  24. Precisely my point Ben got penalised, but Adam did not,, im not the only on who saw what happened tonight and on his previous visit here when he was warned 3 times publically by the ref without being penalised. All i ask is that the refs are consistent.. Adam is a fine young rider and was retained at Lakeside on the fact he was an asset and had better away form than Ben I have no problem with that...
