  1. Good luck Chris, couldn't meet a nicer guy.
  2. I like you would love to be the team that as you say 'sorts out the Monarchs', one hell of a test though, you have to admit they are hot this season.
  3. I think you are correct, way before my time in speedway. I got the wrong rider, but the point I was making was correct. Look, I did not say he was struggling, I said he was a 5 pointer or there abouts and is doing his job. The problem with being selective with scores, is you do not mention the times he scored a low score. Enigma perhaps, but isn't doing a bad job so far this season, a slow start but improving week by week.
  4. 100 % effort from Steen cannot fault him, one seriously hard trier, does his job. As usual he was probably over egged to start with, he is a 5 pointer or thereabouts, and as long as he achieves his average he is doing his job. Liam will improve, what would have happened if Berwick hadn't stuck out the first 3 years with Dougie Templeton.
  5. Agree with most of it, I wouldn't change much, as there ain't much out there to make the changes. Liam will come, stick with him, don't know about Steen, struggles in the main body, OK at reserve, Kus however does aswell in the main body but gets the bonus rides at reserve building his confidence, I would stick with him aswell.
  6. i like you would leave the team alone, even when a no score is recorded, it's not for the lack of trying. Would disagree on your opinion in the pits, of late there has been discord in the pits, but with recent changes, that hopefully will be stabalised and the lads will now get on with the job. The track is back to what the riders want, more importantly they are back to winning ways because of it. Ben Barker said on sat, don't ask me to guest if you prepare a track like that, your riders may like it I didn't. GOOD GOD HOME ADVANTAGE.
  7. Don't over egg it Scott. A win is a win and an away win is a real bonus. Redcar is the weakest I have seen it for a while, weakened even more by it's recent changes, but The Bandits will have to keep their heads focussed, as stearner test are to come, especially at home. I remember Eric Boocock saying when Hull won the league, we were in the right place at the right time, opposition had riders out, r/r reserve guests accidents on the night etc, etc, But, a very well done to the lads, a good win when it counts.
  8. Think you are getting a bit over precious, the service is welcomed by all who subscribe. Rants like this give the impression you only send out what you want people to hear. CALM DOWN, CALM DOWN PET
  9. I believe he has spoken in the right areas, and has been granted eternity
  10. In all businesses we owe a duty to our paying customers, we supply what the customer wants to purchase and the service that accompanys that business, unless we heed that our customer base could dwindle or even disappear. In speedway, a lot of promoters seem to believe we owe them something for running speedway, instead of looking at the paying public as customers, who I promise you, can be very demanding, in my own little businessI have to go overboard to pander to my customers demands, whick I try to do with relish. Speedway is a business in the entertainment industry, if you don't entertain your paying public and treat them with the greatest respect, then sadly you will lose that business, and they will take their hard earned cash elsewhere. There is also a tendancy to run speedway in some cases as a hobby, I don't think you can, as a busines it stands or falls by it's balance sheet, as a hobby it plods along as long as the promotion are in enjoying it, the minute they are not, they will be off like a rabbit in the headlamps. I personally like people like Brian Havelock, but typical of his era can be a bit forthright, often calling a spade a spade, the type of guy that often puts his mouth in motion before he puts his mind in gear. Cannot say I have spoken to the rest of your promotion.
  11. True Berwick people will always be Northumbrian, don't know about the interlopers like myself, or the scottish people who moved to Berwick for a better standard of life. :drink:
  12. Ah!, will Theo Pjiper be claiming Scottish nationality, when they get independence. Don't suppose there will be enough Scottish riders to form the new 'Scottish Speedway Federation', with the new two team format.
  13. It was the anti speedway group from shielfield Terrace kicking off, sent in the riot police. We had a ban the Burka demonstration by the Scottish Defence league. It really is a big problem in Berwick, there are so many burka wearing people here, we can no longer cope with it.
  14. I agree it's not a must, and you are right, I just see an advantage for the team if you have that knowledge. It must be said like the rules the theory on set ups can be learnt. Imagine, if you had someone who knows the rulebook, set ups and is able to prepare a track aswell, WOW! what a manager. Lots of rain over night, should be good for the track by tonight, that is unless with the forecast being so accurate some silly b*gger toolk Billy out last night.
  15. Got to agree, my thought on a rider as a manager, is more about giving riders advice on set ups, but then would they no the rule book in the way say Ian Thomas new it. i doubt the real deal is out there, but one but hope.
  16. I reserve you a seat every Saturday, (associate member)
  17. I am sure Heppy will do OK on Saturday, he is cedrtainly on a learning curve, but I will give him is due, he is willing to learn and change, that has to be a bonus.
  18. Agree, but that manager should have an intimate knowledge of how to set up a speedway bike, aswell as the rulebook.
  19. I think we should have an ex-rider as team mansger, someone like Banger or Moggo or Adrian
  20. Hope I am not asking too much, but:- 1. All 7 riders on track. 2, All 7 riders working together for a win. 3. The track back to how it was prepared earlier in the season. Certainly not like last week and the week before and the Ipswich meeting. 4. All of our fans get behind every rider in the team we have. 5. Hope Pepe does not do too well (love him to bits, don't however want him to teach us a lesson) like Nicky Barret did. 6. Good close racing, but beating Plymouth by 10 points ( no prima-donnas after track records) All of this incorporated with that important hour before the meeting and the three hours after the meeting, where all the real fans meet in The B&G.
  21. Some of the fans were on about it at Berwick in B&G on Saturday night
  22. Clubs in trouble, Birmingham being run by the BSPA, now Eastbourne in trouble, and rumours about Peterborough
