  1. It's all contrived and made up over here though isn't it? Another competition following the same path won't make any difference... It will deter hardly one Poole fan from attending I would think, as we all know how it all works.. Surely no one still takes UK Speedway too seriously? The crowd at Sheffield might by a bit impacted given the competition may have a low interest for some top league fans, but the turn out at Poole should be decent...
  2. At least they didn't borrow Chris and Jack Holder. 😁
  3. To be fair to them, they have come through when the top league improved it's levels several fold .. Eg. Chris Harris is a reserve which shows how "deep" into the team "good riders" now go.. Chris will inevitably come out of reserve quickly but another "good rider" will replace him.. The 2nd and 3rd tiers are the places for these lads to develop.. Far away from Messrs. Bewley, Emil, Doyle, Kurtz, Fricke, "The Holders", Woffy, Janowski, Musielak etc..
  4. Looks like he will miss the start of the season....😀
  5. The more double header GP's the earlier Bartek wins it!!!
  6. 100%.... And come first, second or last, it will resonate only very slightly on anyone else's radar if they don't follow Speedway... MSM especially included .. If the racing is decent, go and watch it... If not, then don't bother... Still some decent riders in Div 2 to watch, so, most weeks, one of them will be there whether for the home or the away team..
  7. £80 ticket for both days, 5000 crowd.. £400k... Worth a punt I would say...
  8. Two cathedral's but no speedway track.... And no one noticed the city had been bombed until 1965....
  9. Do you live in Coventry? Isn't it twinned with Gaza? ..
  10. Great news... Two days of cracking Speedway, seven miles from my door.. Just need to make sure the missus doesn't book any "surprise" holidays... Or she will be going by herself...
  11. Maybe they felt the renegotiation of the contract was a formality? And then something changed? A price increase and then a "tactical walkaway" possibly..?
  12. If you are putting a "select team" together, where you can have four ringers in every match you compete in, you really should be favourites for the tournament.. Mickey Mouse bollox obviously but it will still be worth a giggle to watch it all unfold...😀
  13. Don't worry... That will NEVER happen...
  14. You would have thought with the different time zone in Aussie he would actually be dropping the clutch earlier wouldn't you? 🤪
  15. Some good season ticket deals too... Good to see some thought going into the venture....
  16. It's also sometimes about finding yourselves in a corner and then cobbling together seven riders who can be bothered to ride over here, after other teams have locked and loads their "top two" well before you have....
  17. Because, within moments of the press release, several on here would have shown the average calculation used to be wrong...?
  18. An average "in the interest of Speedway?"...
  19. Daniel Levy at Spurs would love to be bored out of his pants from now until the end of the season and see Spurs finish in the top four... Instead, he will be taken on a rollercoaster of victories and defeats, watching loads of goals, and seeing his team fail to reach the Champions League.. And will be very, very disappointed come May.. As will all the Spurs fans.. Not many will be looking back and saying "wasn't that four three defeat by Chelsea at home a great game?" at the end of the season.. In sport, winning is everything, otherwise, no point in actually doing it... Personally for me, Speedway, (in the UK), given its lack of any major financial gain by winning, almost non existent MSM publicity, and its ludicrous ad hoc team structures, is something I watch as "sports entertainment" rather than something I consider a "bona fide" sporting competition... However, plenty still feel it is "proper competition", and good luck to them, as they are still supporting the sport, and it needs as many as it can find to keep doing so.. Poole know "winning" is key to making a profit, so, quite rightly, they set up their operating model to always be in the mix to win... Perfect sense...
  20. Why worry about the track or the racng? The punters are happy... That is what is important... Win at home each week and it keeps them coming.. Seems strange that so many moan about them..
  21. Poole know a winning team gets them a decent following.. They also know that hardly anyone could name the Premiership Champions let alone those the two tiers lower.. Therefore. Why lay out £100k more to maybe be lower in the table and reduce crowd numbers? An excellent business model for Poole...
  22. Visit the NSS twice a week to polish the Premiership Trophy....
