  1. Some serious money owed there... Two riders alone over half a million quid... They will be lucky to find that amount down behind the back of fhe setee to pay them...
  2. Speedway in Poland is incredibly well followed in certain areas, but, outside of them, it is still a minority sport... The average attendances for the top league was over 10k per match this year, however, given they only run four matches a week that is "only" 40,000 per week watching the top tier.. A huge amount versus the UK top tier, but just two football matches in the top division over there can smash that... Zmarzlik getting the "Sports Personality Of The Year Award" a few seasons ago, shows the sport does resonate across the country, but it is still a long way from being the No1 Sport over there.. I could see him winning it again this year which, again, would be a boost for Polish Speedway to utilise...
  3. We had a British 3 time World Champion who chose not to ride in the UK.... He wasnt even a custodian for Speedway in his own country, never mind the world... I like Tai, and he was no different than Nicki P, Greg Hancock and even Jason Crump who all did the same as World Champions, (and their English is very good)... It wasn't, and isn't, any World Champs responsibility to promote British Speedway, that is the responsibility of the promoters and riders who do ride over here...
  4. At least the post meeting disco will be good... "Tai, can you play us Hi Ho Silver Lining?"..
  5. In fairness to Joe, it is like a decent Amateur Non League Football player being asked to play in the Premier League against some of the best in the world... Riders of Joe's level (and there are quite a few), shouldn't be riding in the top tier... Does nothing for the spectacle or the fans, and even less for them...
  6. Looking at the crowd, I would think there are a fair few dominoes and crib leagues short of a few players this evening in Leicester...
  7. Great ride from Brennan,.. The Witches riding far more aggressively than the Lions... Every single one of those 50/50 clutch moments have all ended with the Ipswich riders being in front... Dickson must be well peed off ...
  8. The racing has been poor hasn't it? First to last well spread out... Three quarters of a straight on many occasions...
  9. Play Off Finals are not his strong point..... Masters and Becker too can "disappear" when the pressure is on... Joe T isn't capable at this level so no criticism should come to him...
  10. Here we go again... Surprise from Kelvin that he got excluded when he fell completely on his own...
  11. Doesn't do the top league any favours having lads of such calibre riding in it... A shame for them too, as it must smash their confidence...
  12. What did he deserve another chance though? He was miles behind when the race stopped... If the race had carried on he would have been stone last....
  13. No.... It was because Brennan was "miles back" with a very very small percentage chance of catching them up... However... Starting the race again and his percentage chance of actually winning increases massively... A good, sensible call....
  14. Ambulance for Ellis.... Best Wishes to him, hope just precautionary... IRR I presume now? Who can take rides if so?
  15. ???? What happens in Poland's hosting of the SON has zero bearing on UK Speedway... The Poles give the SON a wide berth, and fully concentrate on their own leagues (which are much cheaper to attend), and the individual GP's, (their own individual events are often quite poorly attended)... The SWC, when held there, usually generates decent interest. But, even if they get a full house for it, or have the place empty... If won't be of any impact to the UK crowd levels and the way the promoters run the sport in the UK...
  16. Kelvin has mentioned twice already that Emil is much different tonight than in the Semi against Sheffield...
  17. Let's hope for two really close meetings to showcase the sport.... And the Lions win.....
