I think my half n half kevlars idea could actually become a reality, and a winner!!!.. Keeps the scores close as the rider scores exactly the same for both teams... And doubles his points each ride, so he earns more money... And loads of close, exciting, dead heats if he wins!!! Come on BSP and SFL, you now it makes sense... (And cannot t be any more ludicrous than some of the ideas implemented over the years).. This time next year, we'll be millionaires!!!

Every season, fans start off enthusiastically after a long winter of no Speedway.... Often, by the end of May, for too many, that enthusiasm has worn off... Let's hope this season, more than ever, each team can keep its "opening night crowd" numbers for most of the season..

The vast majority of the fans can see that, yet, incredibly, it seems those running the sport cannot. Once again, if we go with six teams, at least one will be cannon fodder... Just like when we had seven teams... Just like when we had eight teams. .. Just like when we had, etc etc etc, In fact, when the top tier reached eight and more, it usually meant at least two teams were cannon fodder.... Yet. . "We propose to do exactly the same this season" is the only plan....

Top tier promoters were trying to encourage some second tier teams to go into the top league... Imagine if Poole and Glasgow had gone into the top league (I won't say "moved up", as it isn't really), and Oxford had decided to stay...? Even without Northampton, where would the riders have come from?

Any white smoke coming out above the BSP Tower in Rugby? Is the Union Jack flying outside to mark whether King 'Arry is in residence? Imagine being any reasonable sized comoany looking to get involved in sponsoring UK Speedway's "flagship league", and witnessing such a way of working?... "We are interested, but the optics of only six teams doesn't look like something with too much relevance"... "Well, technically, we only currently have four, but don't you worry about that, we have a cunning plan, and, rest assured, we are masters when it comes to cunning plans"...

On what average? I presume it will be assessed down to the exact decimal point that fits under the allowed team average total...

Doubling Up is the reason.... No other.... Got to get those team places available..... Riders ear marked could have also turned down places elsewhere, which won't go down too well if the "Sixth Team" doesn't come to the tapes... The positive if they don't run is that there won't be any need to use guests contracted to other top tier teams, as these lads who cannot DU will be available to cover absentees... Surely that is what they will do?

Maybe they have been trying to get riders to compete as they didn't have enough to make a decent Championship?... They could have been spending months working in the background to see if Bjorn Knutsson could come out of retirement and be able to get some gear together in time and ride....

Good crowd placement in relation to camera coverage?.. Something Speedway could do but never seem to do... Meaning the optics to anyone looking in are far from what the sport would like to portray...

The sport is more of a hobby for too many to ever be taken seriously.... Winning at home (by a narrow margin) and getting hammered away is almost utopia for some... These promoters don't have any burning ambitions to win things or, if also in the second tier, move into the top league, and are quite content on funding their hobby through affordable losses, or other businesses contributions.. They run their team pretty much for themselves and the riders, who often need two jobs in the UK to justify their outlay on machinery... With the two jobs meaning two teams share the costs which then makes it cost effective for both clubs.. The clamour for "Team Six" isn't to make the top league look "relevant", (even 20 teams couldn't do that the way the sport is ran), it is simply to ensure another seven slots are available for riders, with four or five of those slots being so riders can double up.. Neither league has authenticity given the operating model (196 guests last season), therefore "Team Six" won't make a jot of difference to the way the sport is viewed by so many fans, and, (more importantly), literally thousands of "ex fans"... In short. Nothing changes because the majority of those running it have a lot of their boxes ticked due to the way they do run it, hence they are content with things... And as long as fans only slowly dwindle away, the losses won't become too big, too quickly, so the whole nonsense can continue on.... Until, of course, inevitably one day given its inexorable decline, it doesn't..

Just let away fans into tracks for free, (or a nominal fee), when it isn't a "local derby"... 40 or so maybe inclined to put on a coach if they were getting in for nothing/minimal amount. Adding atmosphere is one of the big challenges the sport faces, and getting a few dozen away fans in attendance would definitely help that massively ..

It couldn't sustain a top tier winning team in the mid 90's, with GP's to back up the publicity of the tracks existence... Even less chance of running a team there now, particularly given the changes required to the circuit to fit an air fence, and pits, in...
