So IOW and Cradley have now declared their six man teams. Great to see that Mildenhall, Oxford, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Poole, Leicester, Berwick and Kent are endorsing the new league as they must have given permission for their team members to take part.

Less than a month to go. Details in the link below: https://www.worldspeedwayriders.org/wsra-events

What happens if a Premiership / Championship rider is seriously injured whilst racing in, for example, a Polish league fixture? If I read this correctly the SRBF would have to turn away that riders approach for help. Can anyone clarify?

Dickie Head replied to Jonnybegood's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You would hope they use next Friday’s fans social to deliver news on the last rider and a the Centurions involvement in the Nora League. -

Warriors website reporting a local paper’s article about Wightlink restoring the late evening Fastcat link back to the mainland from March. That’s good news if we can be back to Portsmouth by 10 pm or just after.

SGB Championship 2023 Confirmed Signings
Dickie Head replied to Nickinho's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
With Tate doing Polish U24’s on a Tuesday, I would have thought it unlikely that he’ll be at Plymouth. -
Two points. 1. Why is everybody sold on the idea that Newman and Roynon will complete the team? The suggestion that Thomas will start at 2 could be a smokescreen if Plans A, B and C have been thwarted. With 8.18 left for two riders, perhaps Ruml and Ablitt (for example) could come back into the equation. 2. The Cook brothers tackle the Aussie Championship this week and I’m sure fair minded supporters won’t be expecting them to be hitting Finals given the strength of the field, however it will be interesting to see if they can take a few recognised scalps along the way as they build up to big UK seasons in 2023.

The bloke from Strictly has long hair. Hamza Yassin. Not sure if he would come in on a 3, 4 or 5!

SS said, ‘He is very fast out of the gate and doesn’t give up’. From what I have seen, he can be fast out of the gate but needs to find good starting consistency. Just look at the Championship Play-Off at Kings Lynn. Five starts and no good gates, but terrific from the back. He has the ability to be a top rider in the Championship if he improves his starting.

Presumably subject to the appropriate Visa’s being issued.

SGB Championship 2023 Confirmed Signings
Dickie Head replied to Nickinho's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Think Kyle Howarth’s average after reduction should be 8.36. Currently showing full value of 8.57 in the list. -
2023 Season early bird information / sign up now available via the BSN website. Great value.

Believe former rider Greg Daniels is acting as spokesman. Good luck to them but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Now being reported that Tom Brennan is to continue at Glasgow in 2023. That will disappoint quite a few.
-
He had one after meeting spin at Poole whilst staying in Devon on a short break in the UK between Danish meetings.
-
If Nathan Ablitt was to be retained, exactly what would be his average for team building purposes? Would it be 2.00, 3.00 or something else?
-
Assuming a) the 2.5% British reduction continues and b) the October green sheets are unchanged and c) the points limit is 40, my seven would be: King OR Worrall, Lawson, B Cook, Hume, Z Cook, Mountain and Ablitt. Total 39.66.

Jubilee championship league
Dickie Head replied to westlakejawa's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
To add some additional interest, could the format for the Leicester v Poole v Leicester Jubilee match ups be altered in some way? If it’s to be another 7 v 7 standard meeting, why not allow two tacticals or try the Polish/Swedish formulae or introduce two or three handicap races. Something to add interest and get folks talking.
