  1. This is my point exactly, open up more qualifying spots & less seeded places & you'll get more different riders like Kim Nilsson (who 100% deserves his place) in the GPs each year. They may not be one of the best 15 riders in the world, they may not be what the organisers want, but they will be the most deserving - having qualified!
  2. The top 6 qualify for the following season, the top 3 in the GP challenge qualify for the following season, the European champion qualifies for the following season. I am refering to the other 5 or 6 spots where riders are seeded to the following years GP!
  3. Not sure it really matters if they were unlucky with injuries or not, for one you can never prove what will happen, secondly people will only remember the league winners, not a team unlucky with injuries - sadly that just a part of the sport. However Glasgow always put out a strong team & always near the top, many clubs would be far happier with that sort of record.
  4. If the organisers want to see new names each year all they have to do is stop seeding riders & make everyone qualify, of course they can't control who's in the field doing that!
  5. Good points, if you put the top 15 riders in the world in the GP, then more than half of them will fail to make the top 6! Doesn't mean they aren't GP standard, it's simple maths 15 into 6 doesn't fit!
  6. Not sure I understand the logic of blaming Martin for his line! Speedway riders are allowed to ride wide, there is no rule that says you have to ride the inside or your opponents can run into you!
  7. There was a gap, he was entitled to go for it, but needs to avoid knocking his opponent off when attempting it!
  8. While Lindgren made a very poor move, I guess you could call it reckless, I didn't think it was any worse than Zmarzlik's challenge on Madsen in the last round. Different result as Lindgren clattered his opponent (& was rightly excluded) while Zmarzlik pushed his opponent (who stayed on) to the fence.
  9. As @Bojangles points out the reserves now are Garrard & an unnattatched 3.00 guest for Killeen, with Clouting in the top 5. Favourites to make the play-offs, but once they are there who knows?
  10. I just feel he should have ridden for them, pre-season Workington were the only club to give Bailey a team spot, Redcar & Belle Vue didn't want to know him then! I know he can't put them first over the higher league clubs, but as soon as the match was postponed, should be wanting to race for his team.
  11. Can't believe Connor Bailey isn't riding, plenty of time after Redcar was postponed! Half joking - but should this count as "witholding his services"?
  12. I actually completely disagree, that attitude has led to so many cup finals being held in terrible weather in October / November, so no wonder fans don't take them seriously? By getting the KOC out of the way first it shows it means something to the teams, so hopefully the fans will feel the same way too? Would be great for the BSN final to be completed by July & KOC early too! Plus clubs can advertise themselves as cup winners etc for the rest of the season, usually of you win in your last match - it's forgotten about by next March / April!
  13. Not sure of the rules, but both teams should 100% use their own riders now they are free! While it's a shame for the riders offering to guest, we have far too many guests already & any rule saying a declared team can't be changed would be rediculous! I'm pretty sure that rule isn't there anyway, as a rider getting injured one day can nessitate a team change the following day.
  14. I don't think that will work, look at Connor Mountain, too old of RS berth not strong enough for another team place. I know he was blocked on age not ability, but it could happen to the strongest RS candidate, every team would want him as an RS, perhaps no-one would pick him in the top 5?
  15. Those were my thoughts too, of it was painkillers best to take the test, by refusing he can't prove what it was or wasn't. Can't see how it can be anything other than a 2 year ban?
  16. Next Friday both clubs are available is 8th September! Do Scunthorpe have an alternative race night?
  17. The simple answer is Plymouth or Belle Vue fans don't have to buy the other stream. Fans wanting to attend in person don't have a choice! Well actually they do, either pay £32 or don't come.
  18. I can't understand why people streaming get a "deal" for buying both matches, but fans attending in person don't?
  19. Imagine how Todd Wiltshire felt before Oxford returned, all the clubs he had ridden for half closed down - Wimbledon, Reading, Bradford & Oxford!
  20. They were strong in the National League, but have always been a bottom half team since joining the Champ.
  21. Surely if he was assessing a probationary referee, he'd have to have the same viewpoint of any decisions made? It would be pointless saying he made a wrong call if watching from the first bend!
  22. Sign someone when there are 5 league meetings left so they don't get a new average? Transfer cut-off date permitting.
  23. Morris is 4th in the averages so would have to use r/r
  24. Couldn't have put it any better myself. It seems many promotions Habe the attitude of "turn up or you'll lose it" rather than providing an exciting product, offering value for money & budgeting expenses based on crowd levels!
