Rising doesn't mean young it means improving right? You could argue Jason Doyle was a rising star in Speedway from 2014-2018!

Doesn't make a difference this season but may for future years, Jordan Jenkins is 2* rather than 1* because he rode a whole TWO matches for Birmingham in 2019! So in the future if a 1* rider gets injured / loses form near the end of the season it could be tough to sign a replacement, cause who would be willing to race a handful of matches at the end of the season if it means they'd be graded 2* the following year?

That would be far to simple to understand for it to be implemented lol! However I worry using that system grade 2 riders would struggle for team spots as 3+1 would be far the better option (a 2.90 rider with a promising newcomer vs 2 riders who couldn't reach a 2.00 ave)! So weaker riders could get one year then tossed on the scrapheap each season!

Bacon has improved every year & never had a Prem team spot, he's clearly the sort of rider you want in the system, you could argue against Bates or Shanes I guess!

Last year in Sweden all 8 teams qualified for the play-offs!

I've got to question what is the purpose of having 1* riders instead of the original plan of 2* being the lowest? What can be gained by making it harder for 2.00 riders who have had a Champ season to get a spot than a complete newcomer? It could end up that each year 2* riders get dropped for 1* to leave more room at the top of the team! Any truly promising junior Palin etc is likely to average above 3.00 & become a 3* rider!

I've seen a list, but not via the official speedway GB website nor an explanation of how grade 1 riders effect the points limit!

I'd enjoy it more if they'd posted the "rising stars" list as I've always enjoyed making up potential teams!

Can't see how Buckley can be the same grade as Perks / Bates & a higher grade than Kemp / Flint!

Josh Bates?

He'd be on an assessed 4.00 ave, but didn't average over that for Scunthorpe last he was here, so wouldn't advise signing him for a Prem team spot!

I don't know Birmingham's plans for completing their team but think Josh Bates on 6.19 would be an astute signing!

Let's be honest that's not really "massive news" signing a junior who's never been more than a NL reserve!

It's kinda ironic that British promoters upset with Polish rules, lower the points limit so a rider who wants to race over here is likely to be left without a team place!

I disagree the SON looks much weaker this year & there's certainly a possibility that Lawson or the Worralls could've picked up points, especially against U-21 riders!

If Doyle had beaten Laguta in the second semi final, Lindgren would've been world number two! It's stupid that a race between two riders not involved in the podium (Doyle & Laguta) can decide who finishes higher between two riders on the podium (Woffinden & Lindgren)!

I'm sure you can only drip riders through Injury, so they couldn't choose to swap Palin & Kemp over!
