Belle Vue Colts v Mildenhall. 3 Sept
szkocjasid replied to KIRKYLANE's topic in National League Speedway
Who was that? -
Both age & experience are used!
-
Age discrimination is illegal, can't see a rule being allowed that limits how many 30/40 years olds teams can use!

Poole Pirates 2021

If that's the case then the rule should be Aug 31st for transfers, unless a rider has a season ending injury! But that's not the rule! Surely the rule makers, when deciding on the cut-off date, realised a rider could get injured on 1st Sep and with no replacement allowed will have to use guests? Must've been ok with it? Why else would the rule be voted in? -

The cut-off date is there for a reason, don't see why clubs would be allowed special dispensation to break it! -
When Andersen missed his Berwick debut they had to revert to Garcia in their 1-7, Poole couldn't do that with Keleher, so got a guest for Smetana, so I'd guess Glasgow revert back to Sedgmen in the team, but how would that effect the transfer cut-off date? If the declared team still has Sedgeman in it, does that mean Nowak has missed the transfer deadline?

I get bored watching live speedway on TV, long breaks for adverts, plus riders taking an age to get settled into their start positions for races! Watching it after means you can fast forward lots of wasted time!
-
I guess missing matches for depression / mental health would fall under the "non speedway injury / illness" rule, which I believe is a 7 day "ban"! But I can imagine the uproar if a rider got "banned" for missing matches due to mental health issues!
-
I wouldn't want guests for the play-offs either, Peterborough are strong with r/r!

MacDonald's ave should be 4.00, but mistakes creep into the sheets on occasions! -
Birmingham v Poole. 1st September 2021

I don't understand how Ben Cook is still on a 4.00 ave, must have done 4H+4A by now surely? -
Leicester vs Plymouth 28 August 2021
szkocjasid replied to PowerfulPierre's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Leicester should still win today, even though Plymouth now have 3 heat leaders for the first time this season, Leicester have 4! -

Hume had no Champ team in 2020, he's the one rider who has gained from the "rising star" rule! It's a shame that it took a rule that "forced" Poole into signing a promising Brit over an Aussie for him to get a team spot! -

It's up to clubs to pay riders what the clubs can afford, not what the riders are asking for! -

If your argument against the change is that Lawson "already has a job at King's Lynn, I'd reply that Edwards "already has a job" at Mildenhall! -

Confusing to say they started at 38 so can have a 3* even though they're above 38 now? -

I didn't think the teams average (40.22) allowed for a 3* reserve to replace Crang, but the averages still say 3* next to Edinburgh? -
The September averages are up to 23rd of August so should already be "declared" if Eastbourne's results were expunged (hope it doesn't happen) I'd expect the averages to change for October!
-
Since signing for Kent, Batchelor's scores for Sheffield haven't improved, that suggests he wasn't lowering his ave on purpose to get a Champ spot!

National League 2021 - has it been abandoned?
szkocjasid replied to old bob at herne bay's topic in National League Speedway
Not everyone heralded the idea, just the ones making the decisions! -
They are already nearly certain for play-offs!

National League 2021 - has it been abandoned?

That's what has happened to the NL this year, it's easier to score points, but not easier to step up!
