  1. Quite a few people on here were quick to suggest dropping Pijper to make a double change when Allen left! I hope they're all brave enough to admit they were wrong!
  2. Couldn't have put it any better myself! For example Newcastle wouldn't be allowed Craig Cook as a guest for an injured Ben Barker just because they're 4 odd points below the limit!
  3. 1st Eastbourne 2nd Mildenhall 3rd Kent 4th Berwick 5th Newcastle 6th Leicester 7th Belle Vue 8th Armadale
  4. 1st Glasgow 2nd Birmingham 3rd Leicester 4th Redcar 5th Eastbourne 6th Berwick 7th Poole 8th Scunthorpe 9th Edinburgh 10th Kent 11th Newcastle 12th Plymouth
  5. I'm gonna predict Berwick for 6th this year! How many are in the play-offs 4 or 6?
  6. 1. Sheffield 2. Peterborough 3. Belle Vue 4. Wolverhampton 5. King's Lynn 6. Ipswich
  7. I agree, I'd understand if the choice is Bjarne Petersen vs James Sarjeant, but if it's Kasper Andersen vs Connor Mountain, why pay for flights for a rider who is maybe 0.2 stronger than a Brit!
  8. Even with those 3 on an off day, they're still stronger than half of the Clubs top 5s!
  9. I think Scunthorpe held out making a signing in the hope of finding someone stronger than Mountain! If there's no one out there, can see them going with a 4.00 Aussie not as strong as Mountain!
  10. Unfortunately the BSPA have been very quiet with the rules for rising stars, so I have no idea if they stay at reserve all year, personally I don't imagine they will! I've also read no statements suggesting they get any "protected heats" if not a rising star could be put at 6, get heat 2 then meet the 1&2 / 3&4 pairings before being dropped from his last ride!
  11. Jorgensen has never had an average above 8.00, can't really consider him a 9.00 man, which is a figure very few riders reach these days!
  12. Give everyone a few matches & if they're not scoring bring in Lawson?
  13. Totally agree, for such a weak league needs to be no more than £10!
  14. Sorry but have to disagree, 2 x 3.1 riders & a 3rd heat leader below 6 has to be the weakest top 5 Kent have ever put out!
  15. They obviously must rate Sedgmen above Morris!
  16. If that's Sedgmen's "true" average it'll be rounded up to 4.00!
  17. If Wright is a 3.00 man then it's not a bad signing! Any higher than that, odd choice of rider to sign!
  18. My top 6: Sam Masters Craig Cook Charles Wright Edward Kennett Chris Harris Scott Nicholls
  19. Sorry but I think that's a terrible idea, once a rider gets a 7.00 ave he either moves up or his career is over, but keep your ave at 6.00 & you can ride in NL forever! Plus by removing top riders from NL each season the following seasons top riders may be nowhere near Championship level, cause even in league of weak riders someone has to be top of the averages!
  20. I think Leicester clearly have a stronger 1-5 than Eastbourne, but the Eagles look stronger at reserve, plus more home track advantage than Leicester! Not so sure about Glasgow, I guess it depends on their middle order getting back to their previous form to challenge near the top! Can't see who Redcar will sign as a third HL so think they'll be nearer half way than play-off candidates! Agree that Poole have the best top 3 in the league & as you say are likely to be quick to replace an underperforming rider, but there's not many out there to step in! Think you have greatly overestimated Plymouth as I expect them to be in a battle to avoid the wooden spoon! Edinburgh look good at the top but I reckon they'll have too long a tail to make the top 4! Agree with pretty much everything you said about Kent! Can't really comment on Birmingham till more signings are known! Berwick should be good enough at home but likely to be poor away! I rate Scunthorpe more than you, mid table side or pushing towards play-offs depending on final rider! I agreeing Newcastle look weak but think they could do better at home than Plymouth & avoid the wooden spoon!
  21. I can agree with arguments against Bates, but Bacon deserves a shot at the "rising star" scheme! He's improved every year & never had a Prem team spot - he clearly is still improving!
  22. There's plenty of riders without team spots so far, of course some of these could still get signed up! Ben Woodhull, Paul Bowen, Josh Bailey, Nathan Stoneman, Jack P Blackburn, Tom Perry, Connor Coles, Luke Harris, Luke Chessell, Danno Verge, Adam Extance, Alex Spooner, Matt Marson, Scott Campos, Conor Dwyer, Tom Spencer, Callum Walker, Chad Wirtzfeld, David Wallinger, Adam Portwood, Paul Burnett, Chris Widman, Connor King, Shelby Rutherford & Adam Sheppard.
  23. It's very hard to know how well Brennan will do for the Aces. He made a great start to 2019 with Eastbourne but that was from the easier number 7 spot. Riding for two very different sized tracks should certainly help him progress!
