Leicester v Poole Sat 16th/4/22
W9 Lion replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think you may have it spot on. -
Understand the thinking behind the why pick this meeting for streaming. However using your own logic the majority of the meetings involving Glasgow, Edinburgh, Plymouth and Poole as the home team would be streamed as by their location they have the longest journies for the majority of visiting fans. Allowing that the Oxford first home meeting was always likely to be a sell out maybe that should have been picked as a streamed meeting.

Leicester vs Scunthorpe 02/04/2022 Championship
W9 Lion replied to IainB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just checked. Met Office saying 50% of rain between 1-2pm. Little chance of rain the rest of the day. Possibly a little early. If it was to rain between 3-4pm The Gaffer can have his feet up in the "Beaumont Leys Hilton" as nature has done his job . It's not forecast to freeze until well after the scheduled finish. But possibly a night for the bobble hat. -
Leicester vs Birmingham 26/03/2022 KoC 1st Round 1st Leg

Because 1. They would have to pay for both teams making break even much higher 2. Individual Meetings at Beaumont Park have been poorly supported in the past and lost moneyh. -

You missed the ticket give away they ran on social media earlier in the week then? -
Saw him at Leicester and the only time he looked iffy was when he was out with NKI - but then again he is one of the two best riders around Leicester. Think that he may surprise a few people and put a point or so on his starting average.
-
Decent for an established team. But the point you origianlly made was you couldnt see 2,500+ turning up and I would say its likely to happy for at least the first few meetings
-
Leicester had 4,500 for the first meeting back and about 3k for the next 3 or 4 meeting
-
Isnt he is Australia?

Ive just looked at the site and it says 5-16 £1 so Im not sure where you are looking at -
The rugby, basketball & netball clubs are weaker in those locations.

Really define a mile? I think Leicester with the twins at the top end Spencer in the middle and Perry at reserve will run them very close. All the Cubs should increase their avg, a couple Vinny & Max should increase by 2-4 points.

He looked good enough to hold onto his average from what I saw of him at Leicester's recent practice day.

They have one of the better club websites. They are also only behind Leicester and Belle Vue in terms of how competitive the local market is for sports sponsorship, so I would imagine its a tough sell. The key to any sponsorship is that it has to be beneficial to both parties. In the case of clubs this means that unless a Director is a fan they would be better off targeting local SME's and focusing on the services that an aging audiance would be interested in. It is no good going after national brands as the audiance is to small, to poor, to old and in to heavily one gender. And I write this as a speedway fan.

Surely their is a limit to advertising pages in a programme, as often its unecominic to increase by 2, 4 or 8 pages depending on the printing technique used. In addition there is limited advertising inventory in a stadium. So not actually limited by their imagination but by physical constraints. But hell what do I know - I just have 31 years experience in media sales and sports sponsorship.

Or the start marshal and all you have to do is count to two...

I think you could well be right

As someone that works in media sales and sports sponsorship I can assure you regardless of platform or sport a potential sponsor will carry out due diligence. This will include (but not limited to) looking at three areas of SM. 1 The clubs/sport official SM platforms, 2. Players (or riders) in the sport or club concerned, 3. Unofficial SM channels and the BSF would be included in the latter. So, speedway is no different to football, rugby, cricket, basketball, netball, F1, BSB etc.

Top three of Brennan, Flint and Rowe for me.

I think he was working for one of his sponsors PBHS
