  1. I'd sign a speedway loving millionaire to join the promotion and help bank roll The Bandits
  2. The bottom line is that no matter how many new investors come in or if we can find a new "Sugar Daddy " owner , there's not enough people coming through the turnstiles and that's not just happening at Berwick it's all over the country . Obtaining new investors merely lightens the losses for the rest of the promotion what needs to happen is more fans need to turn up , if we had crowds of 1000 + turning up each week things would be a lot more rosier , unfortunately until speedway takes a long hard look at itself that isn't going to happen , people aren't watching the sport in the numbers they used too anymore , why ? IMHO most are fed up with the way that speedway is heading , fed turning up watching teams missing riders because they're off racing somewhere else , fed up with watching poor racing , fed up with stupid rules , it's time to get back to basics merge the three leagues into 2 12 teams in the top league the rest in the other league , lower league to be predominantly British riders like it used to be , no guests allowed and as many teams as possible to have a NJL team to give youngsters a start in the sport
  3. Maybe if you got behind Edberg and pushed he might be faster
  4. I'm sure he'll devote a few paragraphs in his column in next Saturdays programme to it
  5. Its not the bike that's the problem Ever since he came to Berwick I have always felt that Edbergs' riding style is not suited to Shielfield he's far to cramped on the bike and seems to always want to pull it the bike back in rather than let it run , I doubt that he's ever going to change now . after reading his interview in this weeks speedway star unless there's a major change in the sport during the winter its doubtful we'll see Worrall next season There's more chance of me being in the team next year than there is of Kus being in it , if we couldn't afford a transfer fee this year (no matter what price) how can we afford it next season ?
  6. Transparency and the BSPA are words that you wont see together in the same sentence , as far as they're concerned we , the paying public , or customers to use another word are a to be treated like mushrooms - ie kept in the dark
  7. Ach well , on to the next match can't say I'm surprised at the result
  8. Walking out of Shielfield after a defeat seems to be becoming a regular occurrence this season and it's not something I can say I enjoy especially if the performance has been pretty poor . I've never expected us to be title challengers but all way thought we'd do ok at home and after all what matters to most fans is winning at home especially over your local rivals . Once again making decent starts was The Bandits downfall last night you can't give guys like Cook, Worrall & Wolbert a head start and expect to come from behind all the time that simply isn't going to happen is it ? The form of our reserves is now becoming a bit of a problem and their lack points is costing us meetings . With the play offs now looking out of our reach perhaps it's time to give Liam a run , before someone else gives him a team place . Next week it's The Rockets and the KOC and hopefully progression to the next round , maybe our name is on the trophy this year but there some tough teams left in the completion and one-off them are last night victors
  9. Dick Barrie has been , warned and fined on a few occasions over the years for comment made over the mic
  10. I can recommend a butcher that will supply them with "The Best Burgers In Speedway "
  11. If Roynon was that bad last time it looks like they picked a perfect replacement in Edberg , he's hardly what you'd call an expert at "The San Siro of Scotish Speedway "
  12. People on here are talking about Cook going through the card on Saturday night , well let him I say there's a lot of other heats he's not in concentrate on getting heat wins and race advantages in them instead of worrying about him and anyways if we insure that both our riders finish in front of his race partner the most they can score is three points
  13. Is TJ a Scunny asset ? Their continued participation (or non ) next season could have a big bearing on where he rides
  14. Well as a man once said - " It's a funny old game " . Just when you're downhearted and feeling blue along comes an unexpected away win well done to all involved .
  15. How's the weather looking ? Listening to the reports from Wimbledon on 5 Live i, there seems to be some rain in the air there , guess it depends on which way it's going
  16. Putting the controversy surrounding the final aside and the usual gaffs from Sam , I have to say I throughly enjoyed last meeting and found it far more enjoyable to watch than almost all of this seasons Gps , great to see racing on a proper track for a change
  17. The club need to make a decision regarding the Claus and Ben situation soon , it's obvious that Ben won't be back this season and might not even be available for the start of next season depending on how his rehab goes . They need to get clear news from Claus as to when or if he's likely to return , if he's not going to ride again then perhaps they should look towards next season and get a new rider in who can get a chance to settle in without any pressure on him to perform miracles and save our season
  18. Hopefully Rohan Tungate will show the same sort of form as he showed last night and the rest will stick in and we can keep the score respectable and give ourselves a chance to progress to the next round
  19. Over the year I've become used to the " Ermobollocks " that comes out of Sams' mouth during a meeting , but last night I though he was unbelievable when giving his opinion on the incident during the final his complete bias against NP and his attempt to try and blame him for the incident was ridiculous it was clearly obvious that Nick was going straight and that Thomasz moved across into him , weather or not it should've been all four back is another matter altogether some refs would've made that others wouldn't of last nights didn't that's the problem with refs in most sports it's all about personal interpretation of an incident .
  20. Without sounding to obvious if you don't provide heat winners you're never going to win meetings and that quite simply was tonight's problem , we're severely lacking firepower without our missing riders and cant keep relying on guests and R/R to fill the gaps .On a positive note it was great to have the meeting done and dusted before 8:30 pm that's the way it should be every week .
