longlivefrankie replied to GregoryM's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
In think the track and facilities are awesome, went up last nite my first speedway since Newport closed apart from Cardiff gps. Was very impressive I didn't think I would ever see a track like Hyde road but it's pretty close Oh for a funfair & zoo Match was pretty good too good value, lindgren very impressive and have just watched back my recording of it and it's still impressive to me on tv some people are very hard to please of is it just jealousy Will be returning later in season and it's pity it's not a little closer to where I live or I would be going more often Good stuff -

Bspa Making Sport Look So Amateurish
longlivefrankie replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
When Newport was open and I took new people which I tried as often as I could they did enjoy the speed, noise , the race there's was a common complaint the gap between races sometimes it seemed there was nothing going on and no information as to why. I also remember one famous occasion where there was a crash and we waited patiently and understandingly then there was onexracexthen a interval which was differ cult to explain Speedway most certainly doesn't help it self sometimes -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
longlivefrankie replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Well I care about several sports so not sure how that affects anything really I guess it appears it's emotions for some people particularly who don't like tai particularly and are looking for a reason to lambast him (don't mean you trees just being general) And I'm not a fan of tai but would support him as a British rider against other countries riders As I would bale for my country in football Wales or if it was GB as Ryan gigs did in 2012 Or Lewis Hamilton Forctyat matter -

Can't see any difference Two sportsmen a the top of their game not performing in the country they represent Both earning as much as they can for their skills Both very ambitious Both very successful Bale twice champions league winner Woffinden twice world champion If you want a motor sport comparison only perhaps Lewis Hamilton then Does he drive in uk based competition mmmm. -

As a example Gareth Bale can't be arsed to play in Wales perhaps he shouldn't play for Wales in the euros then ... No thought not! tai can ride where and when he wants as far as I concerned. He's a professional and plus his trade where it suits him and tHat includes the British Championships And I only support Gareth when he plays for Wales And tai when he rides for Great Britain seems simple to me -
Today would have been the tradional day the Internationale would be held at Wimbledon. I have particularly fond memories of these. I had relatives that lived near and through most of the late sixties and then the seventies attended. One particularly Whit Monday sticks in my mind where me and a bunch of friends in a VW camper van attended 3 meetings in one day (surely nearly impossible now) at reading (v Hackney) white city ( v hull) and the Wimbledon for the internationale I think it was 1976 not sure though. What memories have you of any bank holiday meetings?

Well perhaps the bspa should cough up to cover costs then? Still I would imagine the anti tai army would find something else... -
Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
longlivefrankie replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I really don't get the hatred of tai , I'm not a fan of his but he's a British world champion so in international events I support him. being Welsh I have an similar example in a conversation my son had with me about the situation after I explained it to him he said " that would be booing Gareth bale at the euros dad cos he plays for Real Madrid" -

If the playoffs is about raising money what's this golden heat nonsense surely a couple of replays is more money? Let alone the fairness of it -
