  1. Nice gesture, well done on winning the comp, I thought my entry was the winner but you've done me.
  2. Loved the smell from that bakery as we approached the turnstiles.
  3. They did have a blank piece to start but it was still within the confines of what was already in place around it, the track was always going to take precedence and as you know they got that absolutely right. I imagine the rest was down to space available and financial constraints, there is room to upgrade it if ever the need arose but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
  4. Interesting profession, does he do foreigners, or is he not multilingual?
  5. Looking in the pits was also a big part of the experience for me, at Hyde Rd this was possible by looking through the gaps in the floorboards in the stand above the pits. I always loved going to Sheffield because, from hazy memory, you could be very close to the pits pre and post meeting, think they were on the left as we entered the stadium via the road where the bakery was, just a low wall separated you from the riders, like I say, hazy memory. Can't remember which stadium it was but I'm sure I recall a meeting a couple of years ago where the pits were situated the length of the back straight, could've been a made track in Russia or Poland, was it the venue where Hancock launched himself at N Pedersen after an on track spat? Anyway, great suggestion OP, I'll do same with my lottery win that I don't partake in.
  6. Thanks for posting that, more than anything it was great to see some old familiar faces amongst the track staff and supporters, a nice little half hour of nostalgia for any Aces fan of a certain age.
  7. Big thanks again to R&R for the invaluable information he provides in this thread all season long, it's been the difference between me getting to see much more speedway than I would if it weren't for his kind efforts. Cheers R&R
  8. That's an insult to thick people, he's a vile human being, nothing more, nothing less.
  9. I'll miss you in the winter, you say the daftest things.
  10. I disagree, Pawlicki could've cleared off on lap 2 bend 3, it was clear to see he was nursing his team mate round, which in turn made him vulnerable, excellent example of team riding imo.
  11. Doubtful but I only wish I was a fan of either team, that would've sent it up a notch for me.
  12. Pedersen didn't look pleased with his team mate there, shaking his head when he cut across the front of him and then seeming to tell him off after the race, good old Nicki.
  13. Good honest interview from Tai, acknowledged his shortcomings and stated his determination for next season, here's hoping he can rekindle the fire.
  14. I'll take that if Tai is at the front and Bart is struggling at the back.
  15. Same here, am wondering whether to let it ride on him for tonight, went e/w but never expected him to win it, just thought the No1 draw would suit him and he could scrape it into the final.
  16. Thanks, is Manchester still in the running? Is the decision covid related? Apologies for off topic.
