Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
nw42 replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
*have* Come on robert, you have to do better than that with your grammar now you're in the firing line. So, Tai did ride in the Ben Fund meeting while he was World Champion or not rob? You need to clear these things up before moving on to another gripe. -

You can go and meet him this weekend if you want, you said so yourself earlier in the thread, that you could approach him in the pits. I'm well up with the thread rob, you are box office fella. So are we to take it that you've given up on the Team GB inclusion question (you know, the title of the thread) and moved on to another inane nothing argument? If that's the case shouldn't you start a new thread about donating kevlars and let this one die a natural death? Oh sod it, lets press on for the 100 page mark. -

Job done by you then eh, keep busy. Generally people don't go on about what they do for charity, it's a personal thing for most of us on civvy street. It's fair enough that celebrities publicise what they do as it enhances the potential for raising much more than any of us could dream of doing. You're the one who keeps bleating on about it, so it's only right you should be called out on it. Lets face it Rob, if these conversations were taking place in real life you would by now be stood on your own talking to yourself, nobody would really entertain listening to you drone on and on with no substance to anything you say, just constant sh1te is what you spout. It is an entertaining thread and I keep finding myself drawn back to it, -

In your position I would definitely have watched the football and caught the speedway later, would have been much safer in terms of avoidance of results etc. -

Tweet him or whatever, he was asking for fans to get in touch.. I agree with you, he was a tosser for doing that. -

It depends, if I was 100% certain that the 'victim' of the attack had been baiting the 'assailant' for weeks and I was satisfied that he deserved everything he was getting, then no I wouldn't report it. I'll give you this robert, you certainly know how to cause a sh1tstorm Well at least it was coherent. -

Have you only just landed in this thread? That post was mild compared some of what's gone on in here. Why on earth would you report someone for a post that has absolutely nothing to do with you? -
You're both welcome but the thanks are due to R & R, his link from the top of the page is where I sourced mine. While on the subject, R & R you do a sterling job providing all this info, I can't say I'm a regular in the Swedish thread but it's great to know that you will have given all the necessary in advance, same goes for Polish on the weekends, cheers from me.

Not sure we can now that Dazz has lost his cool and opted out, shame really as his input was quite good, him knowing Tai was bringing some solid points to the 'pro' argument. Then again Rob72 is happy to go up against all-comers, so here's hoping someone new can breeze in and inject some life into the thread and get it over the 100 mark. -

Now you're clutching at straws, he was wildcarded into the series, finals take place at the end of each event, weather & rider strikes permitting of course. -
2016 Swc Semi's And Final 29/30/july 2016

Of the areas you mention I would go for Stockport, it's nearer to BV than the others, Heaton Moor is ideal if you can find anywhere, will cost less than a tenner in a taxi to the stadium and is decent enough for a drink and a bite to eat, Don't know about availability or budget but this place is logistically perfect, less than 4miles from track. https://www.innkeeperslodge.com/stockport-heaton-chapel/ btw, this isn't trip advisor and I've never stayed there, just in case That is also ideally located for the track, not so much available around it but as you say it's only a mile or so to town. -

It doesn't bother me that he wasn't riding in the British Final because, at the moment, the British Final has been reduced to an almost nothing fixture. Ok so you could say he hasn't helped this by not appearing but I think it's down to British Speedway to get it's own house in order before you can expect a World Champion to put extra strain on himself, his schedule and his equipment. Don't get me wrong, I've got some great memories of past Finals, mainly @ Brandon on Wednesday nights, obviously it was a crucial qualifying meeting and had much more meaning but surely if it were marketed well it could get back some of the prestige. As for the topic question, of course he should ride, no doubt whatsoever. -

Exactly, I'm fairly sure he wouldn't have done it if he didn't think the crowd would respond accordingly, it seemed like a two-way thing to me watching on tv, loved it. Not quite his namesake but I can remember Ken Eyre always having similar great rapport with the fans at Belle Vue, although I think Ken tended to limit it to a cheeky wave. I don't think he ever broke out of the reserve berth (could be wrong) but it didn't stop him being a real favourite back in the day. As for Barry Ayres, I don't recall him being so outgoing. -

You pretty much did p*ss on the PL parade though, "thank God we have EL next week" (or similar). So he/she wasn't exactly putting words in your mouth. Not really, their holes are for diving into rather than through, Great comparison with the Championship v Premiership, much more honesty and graft, no superstars.. The Elite League people could learn so much from whatever Glasgow did to generate that crowd last night, was a real throwback to the halcyon days of the 70's, had me remembering the BLRC's @ Hyde Rd and seeing coachloads of noisy Scots turning up for their annual party. Well done Glasgow promotion, I didn't think there was a lot wrong with the racing either, not sure what some expect to see if they think that was rubbish, Fisher and Garcia were worth the admission price for their efforts and plenty of others gave their all. As for Ayres after ht 2, brilliant, the main stand crowd absolutely loved it and they are the ones shelling out their hard earned, it all added to a decent evening's entertainment. -

Stop moaning, you've only just got here..

I've also had him e/w a few times in the last 12mths, unsurprisingly my account is in need of replenishment and I couldn't be bothered earlier tonight, so I'll join you in that club.. Still dead chuffed for him though.

Another top drawer speedway meeting for the cameras, considering the general lack of enthusiasm for that track it produced some close racing, riders all prepared to get stuck in. Well done Chris Harris, richly deserved rostrum place. Doyle quietly went about his work tonight and had the speed when it counted, well done to him.
