Would one of those problems be that the Contractor suddenly realised that it would be more lucrative to build Houses rather than a Stadium? or Lack of money. or Both.

Therein lies the big problem.

Do We Still Need The Play-offs
The White Knight replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Irrelevant in my view. The Team that finishes top over the whole Season should be the Champions. Have another Competition by all means - I have no problem with that but you can't call the Winners the League Champions because, putting it simply, they aren't. However, as Lucifer Sam states, I'm a dinosaur, so what do I know apart from the fact that there were a lot more people attending Speedway before they had the 'Play Offs'. Maybe the unfairness of it does have an effect on Supporters - I don't know. -
Thank you for your intelligent and well considered reply.

I sincerely hope you are wrong. But, I am very fearful that you could be right.

Yes, we know and accept that fact - even the Track and Stadium has changed. I don't see how any of that effects the ability of Mark to Manage the Club though. Personally - I think he is doing a good job.
-
That says it all for me Rob B. :approve:

Mark is learning all the time. I think he is a great Team Manager. What Steve Park said is so very true - I think he will be good at that too. That is the impression I get on the Television anyway.

R.I.P. + Svein.

I think Glyn Taylor is a great Trackman. The Track he built at Redcar was brilliant.

Sadly this just gets more and more complicated. Good Luck to the 'Bees' Supporters, it must be awful with all this conjecture going on. Let's all hope that something positive will be heard soon.

I have said that for years. Nice to know that somweone agrees with me. -
 You thought THAT!!!

I hope 'Robbo' rides at Newcastle next Season. Always works hard and is a good Team man - in fact - I would give him the Captaincy.
-
Well I reckon Kevin and Jittendra have done a great job. From what I hear they have really turned things around after the last couple of years. I'm really pleased about that because, like Newcastle, they have some great Supporters who make you feel at home. Best wishes to the 'Bears' for next Season, and Well Done this Season.

British Speedway 2018

I'm not really worried about the Nights for each Division. I am only hoping that no Tracks are forced in to closure because of it. -

I thought BT did quite well to be honest. Remember, this is their first year of transmitting Speedway. If they do it again next year, I am sure things will get better. They must be given a chance. -
Track Drying Methods

One of the absolute major barriers to covers, apart from those raised by Tsunami, is Cost. There is not a lot of money in Speedway, there used to be, but not now. I would have imagined that the SKY money might have been spent on finding an answer for all Tracks to weather problems - instead it was spent on huge wages for Riders we really couldn't afford. Then again, I suppose it could be that there isn't an answer. It rains a fair bit in this Country. -

Well said Sir. :approve: Humphrey take Note. -
I always liked and admired PK as a Rider. It didn't matter to me who he rode for, he was wonderful just to watch. In Interviews on Television, my late Wife was always captivated by the Swedish voice with a Brummie accent. I too enjoyed listening to him. As a Sportsman he was second to none. I wish him every success in the future. I agree with all the compliments paid to him on this Thread so far. Thanks for the memories PK - and all the very best to you, you deserve it.
