  1. I see Cookie made a miraculous recovery to be able to ride for Glasgow tonight, although according to updates only managed a race when he ploughed into Nick Morris who shed a chain. Not having a lot of luck...
  2. Teams this year in premiership are all pretty similar standard wise, so it doesn't take a lot to tip the balance of fixtures one way or the other. Losing NKI and Jack has certainly affected us. We certainly benefited early season in League Cup Would argue Ipswich having 'luxury' of r/r for Paul Starke at no. 2 made them stronger when they rode against us
  3. Should have been able to capitalise on Cookies withdrawal, but just too much inconsistencies through the team. Picketing with bike problems didn't help. Morris put in a decent shift, probably not far off what NKI would have scored. I would personally put Worrall or Morris to partner Pickering in heat 15, both were gating well, but ultimately being a couple of points down going into heat , 15 was always going to be a big ask
  4. I'll wait til I see the lineups before passing judgement. Was going to be a hard match with a full side, but new reserve and r/r or guest for NKI makes me think if we get anything out of this we'll do bl00dy well. But if we do, that augers well for the rest of the season
  5. Agreed!! We mostly always start the season with high hopes and always end up disappointed. Just to win once, thats all we ask!! Getting to the critical point in the season now. If TJ is a short term injury then we can live with that, but need Richie Lawson to come to the party. Kerr (apart from bike probs last night) and Worrall look to be coming back into a bit of form. And the good replacement for the unlucky Jack.. If TJ is going to be a bit longer term need to start looking at options and possible 28 day replacement... R/r never seems to work well for us for any length of time
  6. Puts an interesting spin on the possible outcome. Deffo be close now
  7. Not in this one. Doyle against the top star, I'd not be confident of a stars win at that point
  8. Will certainly need everyone on their A game tomorrow tonight. Expect usual big score from Doyle, so any points we take off him will be a bonus. Think we should be strong enough to keep Riss, Batch, King at bay. BB is inconsistent. With a bit of luck we could have won at foxhole last week, so a win by 8 to 10 points will do nicely!
  9. Pretty much spot on. Pickering had a better meeting than the match at Foxhall earlier in the season, hoping he'll nail it down there next time! Heat 14 was the killer in the end, Doyle was nailed on 3 points in heat 15 so we needed to go into it at least 2 points up. Generally poor meeting racing wise though, just kept interesting with the close score line.
  10. They perhaps should have taken the opportunity to do quick track grade after falls or when riders had two on the trot, rather than have a specific break for grading. There were at least 4 natural opportunities.... Thoroughly professional job by the stars. Good all round performance. Even Worrall looked on the pace in his last two rides so hopefully he is turning a corner (excuse the pun). Couldn't believe how few points TJ got as was always in the mix. This team is looking better by the week.
  11. Forecast iffy for tonight. Hope that's not the winner
  12. With Richard Lawson now starting to show some decent form against a misfiring Peterborough team, I can see a 10 point starts win..
  13. Exactly, and particularly Mr Doyle. Danny King was in a decent position at least a couple of times and with a bit of team riding would have scored more than 2 points!
  14. Heat 13 and 15....WOW! Glad to see Lawson looking more like his old self. Brave call giving him heat 15 but he nailed it. Been pleasantly surprised by Jack Thomas. Exceeded my expectations, helped by being able to gate well, but turning into a very decent reserve. As others has said Lewi is a worry and expecting more from Worrall at reserve.
  15. trying to book tickets... anyone know whats occuring? Your connection isn't private Attackers might be trying to steal your information from kingslynnstarstickets.seatedly.com (for example, passwords, messages or credit cards). NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID
  16. Having earlier not been too impressed with Tatum as the lead commentator, think he has settled down and relaxed into and is doing a much better job. With Chris Louis they are turning into a decent partnership.
  17. Much prefer Eurosport to BT Sport. For a start Eurosport is cheaper and has a major advantage that you can pause/rewind/fast forward...makes it much more flexible when watching
  18. There was an outside line starting to build up as TJ used it to good effect. Then almost as soon as it appeared it disappeared again. Were Wolves management worried that the Stars might get back into the meeting so graded (or should have watered) to get rid of it ? I would personally have left Jack Thomas in heat 14 - he had been gating and stood as much chance at getting points as the rest of the Stars. If Richie Worrall was coming in I'd have replaced Lewis Kerr who had been pretty ineffectual all meeting. Agree with others that Eurosport should perhaps consider a commentator alongside Kelv so he could revert to his former role, or maybe we just need to give Kelv time to adapt to his new lead role. I get the feeling Eurosport are maybe trying different combinations to see what might work best.
  19. A stars win at foxhole is worth seeing, even if there is nothing riding on it !
  20. Is Nicki Pedersen still up for one final UK fling?
  21. Surely it should be called round the air fence?
  22. Add in the risk of the track freezing later in meeting. Had an abandonment at Lynn a few years back as the moisture in the track froze as temperature dropped. Hate to think what real temperature would have been when you throw in a significant wind chill. Right call imo
  23. Heart says go and cheer on the Stars. Brain says don't be ****** stupid, strong winds, very cold and some rain in the day. Jury out, but my cosy woodburner winning at mo, but only just..!
