  1. The clip of Jon Armstrong on BSPA site does indeed suggest this new track is going to serve up some cracking racing....
  2. The problem is not really the track, more the bikes are so hard to handle these days, making passing much more at a premium, cos if riders get it wrong, it goes wrong big time. The authorities have to find an answer to that. Having said that, wider bends at the AFA Arena would certainly help improve the entertainment value imo as it would mean more racing lines and shorter straights would bring the speeds down a little.
  3. Kai at reserve will be a big help! Although Wilko will struggle at no. 2. Calculation of averages needs looking at and maybe should exclude the reserves races as they give a false reading. Wonder how we'll play it now as it sounds like PUK will be around all season but pick and chose which matches he rides in. If its not a genuine reason (injury/fixture clash) will we get a facility - or use our no. 8 ?
  4. Haven't they invested in plastic sheets to cover the track? thought I'd read that somewhere, so as long as its not raining at start time should be ok? and wonder if Puk will be riding?
  5. If its on there'll be about 2 paying customers. My big decision is whether to splash out on Sky one day pass....and will I get a refund if the match doesn't get to heat 10 ? ;-)
  6. Funny thing is, after all this and 17 pages of debate looks like the rain will win anyway!
  7. Stars have busk in for huck who is also ill. At least that's a fair swap.
  8. Leicester unlucky not to get a point from that. Bl00dy cold again and drawn out, despite ref putting 2 mins on before all riders from previous race had left the track for some of the races. Didn't end till 9.45pm - had to find a car with a heat on full blast pdq. Very much a gate and go for the most part but a few decent races overtakes along the way. But get out in front and you were pretty much guaranteed a win. Even NKI's gating seems to have partly left him. BTW liking the new mike man....a few more interviews along the way to fill the empty gaps though please!
  9. Ah...that's a shame. Busk has been scoring well so would have been a easier EL start for him, and a good chance for us to see him in action
  10. Don't understand why stars don't bring busk in and use huckenbeck as no. 8 in to replace Rory. Isn't that how it's supposed to work?
  11. Think it did. Really slick on the inside and with the light rain made it an ice rink. Hope Rory and kascper make a speedy recovery. Stars should have won more easily but let it slip towards the end
  12. From Stars website KING’S LYNN STARS: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Kai Huckenbeck, Rory Schlein, Mads Korneliussen, Robert Lambert, Carl Wilkinson, Lewis Rose. COVENTRY BEES: Krzysztof Kasprzak, Jason Garrity, Danny King, Kacper Woryna, Chris Harris, James Sarjeant, Josh Bates. Can't really see past a Stars win by at least 6, but expect some good racing with plenty of racers on show
  13. Leaving huck out after the start to the season he has had so far and the commitment he has shown would be so unfair, but that's speedway numbers game. At least he would be good to call on in emergency
  14. What happened to Thursdays?!!! :-) Anyways, £19 for 2 meets in one is not a bad deal and will be my first taste of the youngsters...
  15. Assume if stocks were on yesterday with rain about today guess it would have been difficult to rectify track, even though this evening seems pleasant. Having said that, if that was the case that would have been announced <shrugs shoulders>
  16. Yep - meeting cancelled - no reason why given yet...
  17. The vague news out of kings Lynn certainly suggests they are having to be careful with the version of the truth they want to put out. Lawyers involved now? I was going to watch on TV to save costs and time as I'm not close to kl, but changed plans to go once sky pulled out.
  18. My pet hate as it drags things out Unless there is track grading or a rider with 2 on the trot 2 mins should go on as soon as riders are back in the pits. Busters programme notes mentioned some presentation improvements - have I missed something?
  19. Huckenbeck was the one positive tonight. Build a team of racers to entertain, have a lovely fine couple of days and get a gaters paradise. Having said that stars were awful out of the traps and paid the price against a strong bv who clearly mean business this season and should give Poole a run for their money.
  20. Think it will be tight. Cookie went well in Ben fund and if zagar rides to form, throw in Scotty, plus Steve worral at reserve... 6 point win for stars at most.
  21. Stars website carrying news of dale joining as CO promoter and mentioned behind the scenes issues this winter. You'd never have guessed!
  22. That's a bit early for a press release, didn't expect that until Saturday (at the earliest) Can't really see anything other that a Stars win at the NA. Lakeside will keep them honest (at times), but should be points in the bag. Wouldn't like to call the away fixture, but we probably need to get something whilst NKI is still in the side
  23. Friday night was a case in point. Iffy weather so rush through to heat 10 so no refunds then string out the rest of the meeting when we were freezing our bits off. Thing is, speed of first 10 heats is how it should be all the time. Friday night was a case in point.
