Weeyin replied to ZagarRacing's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Think the statement from CFS stinks , they are obviously happy that it has been called off, if the forecast had not been bad would Craig still have ridden as announced on tv by Nigel Pearson. Even though Craig is only riding championship, I can assure you that he is flying and would have done a good job for the robins. Shame that a major sponsor has to hold a team to ransom because of a fall out with 1 rider. -
Chris Harris let us down numerous times last year, he only ups his game for Poole , championship for him is to try things out , has more mechanical breakdowns in championship than premiership

Well done Bandits, we went missing Cookie apart, James unlucky and Kyle did ok. Gappy superb around Berwick and deserved man of the match -
Yeah that was unfortunate for poor Jye, I wish him a speedy recovery, the bandits are my second team and performed better than the scoreline suggests, will be tougher for Glasgow at Berwick, but a large contingent of Tigers fans will be down to help swell the bandits coffers

Hope it is as thrilling tonight as it was last night but as Paulco says the Tigers will need their gating boots on as they were not as sharp out as the bandits. Glasgow has been pretty much gate and go the last few years but the track last night had passing lines galore. Speedway as it should be. Hope Jye is okay as that was a nasty fall. -
Fantastic meeting , the Bandits were sharp out the gate for the first few heats, but the tiggers soon found their feet , best racing I have seen there for a long time. Wasn't as easy as the scoreline suggests. Was impressed with young Bickley. Hope it is as entertaining tomorrow night in Bandit country.

Thought you weren't attending bandit meetings this season? -
Forgot about them lol

Difficult one to predict , the Bandits have a few meetings under their belt already and have done well so far, and they usually do well at Ashfield, especially having former Tigers captain Aaron Summers and Coty Garcia. Tigers on the otherhand will be race rusty, Only a couple of the riders have been in competitive meetings, Paul Starke and Kyle Bickley. The tiggers will need to be sharp out the gate to combat the bandits and the top 5 will have to bring their A game to keep the pressure off the reserves and give them a chance to settle in. Looking forward to the home and away fixture this weekend, should be a real test . I will go for home wins at Glasgow and Berwick but reckon it will be close.

Glasgow , we have a fab stadium , a team that interacts with fans, a superb promotion, top social media input and Glasgow fans get on with everyone. (Well almost everyone, we do have a bit of banter with the smugs )

No chance we will drop Cook
-
Well , I will be disappointed if we make team changes due to the demise of the Comets, it would be a tad unfair to the riders already signed, and I don't care if we have a long tail, we should give them a chance to see what they can do. It can be a cruel sport and I feel for the comets riders that have been let down
-
Gutted for the riders and fans and for Laura who has given so much to the Comets, speedway is in a bad way
-
I see now where that statement is coming from, really gutted for Comets fans and riders alike
-
I see that we are rated as finishing in bottom 4 of the league by others, I reckon if we are heading that way then changes will be made, yes we appear to have a long tail but a lot depends on how the 2 pointers adapt to championship racing, obviously Drew Kemp is not a true 2 pointer and will add at least another 2 to his average, but some of the other reserves will be be facing the same challenges as the Glasgow ones, it will be an interesting season for sure. I hope that all teams get through without too many injuries and the fans attend in decent numbers at their respective tracks. My prediction is that Sheffield will be the team to beat

Sheffield Leicester Somerset Glasgow /Redcar/Edinburgh

Now that it has been confirmed that Rasser has signed can we please dispense with all this bickering and focus on the season ahead, lets just support our respective teams , supporters have no say in what management do, let's enjoy speedway while we still have teams to support.
-
That has been the case I believe

Craig does get the reduction

Did Paul Starke not ride national league? -
Totally agree with you there, however he wasn't fit and it is now history, but that is why I think we should have cookie again next season as he brought a feel good factor after a disastrous 2017 capitulation and a mediocre start to 2018, he brings passion and was helpful to the rest of the team and tbh I dont really care if we win the league or not, I like to see good racing and a happy team , and Workington deserved to win it all last year as they were the best throughout the season. Before everyone starts saying that Cook is too good for the league and will probably win by half a lap etc, I agree he probably will, but if he misses the gate he is awesome to watch lining up the opposition to pass and that is worth watching for me.
-
If that is the team Rasser should improve , Starke also if he can stay injury clear, Claus should maintain, reserves will probably struggle and Sarge can improve, he done it before and Cookie will at least maintain but can be influential to other members of the team. Sheffield however do look very strong
