  1. Confirmation today that Mildenhall have been taken over and will take their place next season.
  2. Where’s that rule been confirmed?
  3. I’ll start a new thread for 2019 once it’s close to the start of the season.
  4. David Crane, I assume, usually knows what is going on!
  5. The thing with Shelby is because his average is SO low that it is likely to go up. Especially if he's in a team with at least one useful reserve who will move up into the team and then Rutherford can ride at reserve which despite his long plateauing stay in the NL, he's never had a long run at reserve. Not a steal on that average by any means, but he has shown he's a 4 point man in the NL and this coming year it's a watered down league and he's on a 3 point average!
  6. Of course another season in the NL would be beneficial. But that doesn’t stop him from riding in the Championshipship too.
  7. If you can’t get Bacon at number 2, then Shanes would be a perfect fit. But the reserve duo has to be Hume and Flint surely (assuming young Leon won’t be at Berwick).
  8. A decent number 1 at this level now back at a track he loves and on a nice average.
  9. At that point Jack Smith thought he’d be back with the Colts!
  10. Let’s get back on topic guys... Leicester have seemingly realised that no-one likes their name suggestions and saved it by saying the poll was a semi-final and there’ll be 4 more options to choose from! Surely Cubs and Hunters will be included.
  11. I equally don’t doubt that it’s because of the points limit but surely someone seemingly as important to Belle Vue’s long-term future as Smith can still be fitted in regardless? Plan the team around Smith, Bickley, both Woodhull’s if they want it and potentially Lawlor and see what’s left. These are the riders who genuinely might ride for the Aces and are all young and improving so will make a decent side anyway!
  12. Clegg’s average is over 8 now with his late season form.
  13. BWD confirmed himself in the winter of the rule change that he was no longer eligible for the NL.
  14. The eligibility rules for the NL has changed since he rode though. Literally because of BWD the rules changed that you need a British passport, so he may have ridden NL at the time but now he would NOT be eligible and is not British.
  15. Now we know the Warriors are confirmed in the league and in the Trophy it’s time to speculate who will be in the team under the excellent and respected stewardship of Barry Bishop & Martin Widman. Ill need to have a think about the actual potential line-up but it would be particularly good to see Alfie return, Bursill as the 2 pointer and maybe poach a youngster or two from Eastbourne!
  16. Where do people actually think they’ll ride? A Monmore & Birmingham split again??
  17. Totally agree. But Mildenhall have already said he won’t be back (likewise Kinsley).
  18. Very sad to see Buxton go. It’s effectively a 38 point limit, with the newbies now coming in on a 2.00. I can see a few top end riders like Kemp & Bacon doing the upper leagues only.
  19. I definitely can’t see a second eagles team appearing and where would this new Northern team run from?! Also I think there has to be a big question mark over Leicester running a second team with the original intention of them doing that if they were in the top flight still riding midweek.
  20. Home and away twice? Bring back the NL Fours & NL Pairs?
  21. Maybe he couldn’t fit Worrall into the budget. Nothing to do with averages.
  22. The 2018 winner is Hunters!! He heads the podium alongside SKJ and CUFC_Brummie! That’s a third place and now a second place for SKJ haha. I gave up waiting for the final greensheet so used the BSPA averages section. Hunters’ team was: Wood (9.28), Kemp (9.15), Flint (8.55), Thomas (8.44), Smith (8.41), Bickley (8.39) and Edwards (6.73). Previous results were: 2017: 1st Eagle69, 2nd Islander15, 3rd SKJ 2016: 1st Halifax Tiger, 2nd John Leslie, 3rd Turn Two Hunters: 58.95 SKJ: 58.61 CUFC_Brummie: 58.28 Bob C: 57.68 Iand: 57.61 Panthers89: 57.42 Walter Plinge: 57.08 BV 72: 56.94 Eagle69: 56.68 Islander15: 56.37 Teaboy297: 56.26 Sings4Speedway: 55.80 Hawks 1975: 55.70 Adz_mft: 55.46 Eagles no1: 54.16 Monarchs Mitchy: 53.16 Szkocjasid: 52.91 Brummie Kev: 52.52 Mike c: 51.48 Paulboy: 50.72 Greg: 50.18 Woz01: 49.67 Bluenose: 48.81
  23. This team strikes me as similar to this year’s Birmingham side: an excellent top 4 but a lacking bottom 3. If the top 4 ride to their potential then you only need Bailey to beat the opposition reserves for an away win but one of the top 4 have an off day and you can slip to a home defeat! However entertainment is guaranteed with them lot at the EWR.
