Very harsh if it’s just the highest points total in 2nd place as that excludes the 3 team group! Points average would be fairer than that. Was the points average used last season?

How do they decide the best placed 2nd finisher in the shield? Use average points, discount points against the bottom placed team or something else?

With 3 of the hottest young prospects in Bickley, Flint & Palin all in the same team it’s going to be an exciting season at the NSS. I can see many more teams getting hit for 60+.

It still seems a very unfortunate situation to have been heaped on Palovaara’s door! Worrall is a genuine number 1 and the Diamonds now have a decent top 3 to match and better most sides. However it’s an awfully long tail. I can see changes at the bottom end ahead with 4 reserves in that team now.
