It was dangerous that day but that was the last meeting before racing stopped for a few weeks to sort out the track. Reports after that were much better.
Hurry’s on a very attractive average and every team needs someone to aspire to and less from the front. Especially as it looks like Bowen, Boxall, Stoneman & Thomas are all ruled out for different reasons. I must admit, I’m intrigued who the number 1 is going to be.
Ayres is a victim of the low Championship points limit when he’s not a 2 pointer and tbh he’s been lucky to have a loyal club like Mildenhall to not be a victim of the NL’s low point limit. As they could’ve easily chosen have chosen Kemp or Bailey as their number 1. It makes you think though that the team is essentially already signed and is very close to the points limit, to choose Ayres over Kemp.
Kind of! ‘fronted by club commercial manager Lee Chipchase and local farmer Greg Palmer – plus unnamed partners – in control of the operation, although Jolly is to remain a part of the set-up at West Row.’
The thing with Shelby is because his average is SO low that it is likely to go up. Especially if he's in a team with at least one useful reserve who will move up into the team and then Rutherford can ride at reserve which despite his long plateauing stay in the NL, he's never had a long run at reserve. Not a steal on that average by any means, but he has shown he's a 4 point man in the NL and this coming year it's a watered down league and he's on a 3 point average!
If you can’t get Bacon at number 2, then Shanes would be a perfect fit. But the reserve duo has to be Hume and Flint surely (assuming young Leon won’t be at Berwick).
