  1. ‘Any other reason’ in the NL. If someone wants Gilkes, and he agrees, they’ll get away with it.
  2. With the rain at Buxton today, barring any freak results, that's Eastbourne & Kent in the POs with all Coventry needing to do is hope their home doule header tomorrow night beats the weather and then they'll beat Buxton.
  3. Probably true, but Coventry have had a decent sniff for a couple of weeks now.
  4. Only by running a double header which their shouldn’t be a need to do.
  5. This date hasn’t just been plucked out of thin air though, so why such a late arrangement?!
  6. A few more former Brummies in the Birmingham team would’ve enticed fans wouldn’t it?
  7. He won’t even be number 1, so R/R it is and that’s Kent’s hopes over.
  8. Most on here will also be happy be happy that the best ‘team’ won.
  9. A bit disappointing to not see the full Mildenhall team take on the next best ‘team’ in the division. But whether it’s a farce or not, the riders won’t see it that way and with the ones on show there should be some decent and close racing!
  10. How can you have a guest for Kemp when he’s the only guy missing and not doubling-up?! Clegg for Ayres & Bailey R/R.
  11. Having the NT later or not at all would just mean NL fixtures are more spread out or crammed in now. It happens before. Some teams are incapable of properly planning fixtures and it’s the same ones every year, but nothing is ever done about it unfortunately.
  12. Strange. But Laurence wasn’t in the team originally so I assumed he’d come in as a consequence.
  13. Jenkins is out as well now. R/R for Hume and Nick Laurence in!
  14. Anyone worth their salt on a 4.something average hasn’t had a great season so far. So they’ve plumpted for someone on an assessed/false average.
  15. A critical meeting this for the Brummies as realistically if they get 0 points then they’ll finish below Plymouth, let alone the others!
  16. Is there another stream of the Gorzow GP anywhere, with the one you posted above R & R now been taken down?
  17. I agree. Isle of Wight will finish their league meetings in August and have reported healthy crowds during the summer months. They’ve created a challenge type meeting in the first week of September to extend the season and issue a seasonal farewell. This whole concept has been well received by supporters: get the meetings done in good weather in the summer when they still mean something and allowing a nice flow to near weekly meetings plus one unofficial meeting in September which allows a speedway fix without adding meaningless fixtures in. Regular Warriors fans have enjoyed this organisation, so it’s not just about pleasing the holidaying supporters either.
  18. A genuine question Jayne (and I know it’s not only Buxton that this happens to) but given the fixture congestion every year in September and then meetings that don’t affect anything in October, is there any cohesion to avoid this in future? Surely more meetings in June, July & August make sense with September for finals, POs etc with no league fixtures in Oct.
  19. But if there’s only 2 tiers next season...
  20. It will get dragged into the mess when the top 2 leagues only think of themselves yet claim its been the best AGM yet.
  21. More likely testing the waters for 1st tier speedway. I can’t see them in the same league as Buxton & Stoke next year
  22. If Stoke can’t beat a team with one heat leader, 2 second strings and 3 reserves then their only hope this season is that Buxton continue to be as bad as them! So when was it known that Thomas wouldn’t be riding? If he just didn’t turn up, as Stoke’s twitter suggested, then surely he should’ve remained in the team and the Kings should’ve had 3 lots of 3 rider races. If it was earlier in the day then it’s completely reasonable.
  23. The usual texter to the updates sure isn’t sure if he’ll make the meeting tonight, is anyone able to text just in case he doesn’t? Message me here or text me or Sue.
  24. Unfortunate for Plymouth fans that they found themselves with a winning team only for injuries to strike.
  25. The 23rd has been the cut-off date all season long! A total disregard for fans to move this meeting at short notice when time off work, travel arrangements etc would’ve been made. Plus we’re still waiting on news of the Fours, called off at short notice.
