  1. Hardly the first time we have heard of problems with the Tigers track ! And a hour and a half wait for the meeting too start ? This is an example of why I do not go to NL meetings any more.
  2. Two hours not enough ???? Are you having a laugh. 15 minutes of racing (sorry,14 minutes on Monday!). Riders get to start on time,Referee keep things moving, less Gardening, etc etc and no problem.
  3. Is it not the referees responsibility to run meetings at a sensible pace ? As I have said,I see this too often and it is just not good enough.
  4. Did not go last night as I am in sunny Devon. But last night was just another example of why I am fed up with the NL. How many 2 minutes exclusions/just made it was there last night ? I see so many of these that it is getting tedious and boring. And last night not finishing the meeting when there was just 2 points in it,was a disgrace. I know the curfew was reached, but no excuse last night for not getting through the meeting. Can you imagine getting to 85 minutes in a football match and blowing final whistle ?? Again the public are short changed, but never mind they do not count.
  5. Well said. I did not go last night as I am not enjoying watching NL Speedway. No doubt you get good meetings but as Waco said you get so many falls, breaks downs, delays etc. And as far as Kent is concerned, things have gone off the rails. Bowen is missed big time - Choice of Guests have been a disaster. I think the season has caught up with Verge,Mason and Clifton. Young Thomas has suffered a bit by being in and out of the main body. I love watching Shanes and Ayres, but it seems to me that they both over do it at times and that causes problems for themselves. But as I said earlier, delays etc in the NL has really stopped my enjoyment.IMHO.
  6. 1) What a shock you should respond like this. 2) I am a Sir (I think?). 3) What was the crowd then ? 4) I would not have gone last night if you paid me,I maintain it was a farce. 5) To criticize Cookie would upset you as you are part of the Club. 6) I did not mention anything about the track. 7) I love the sport also - BUT THIS TYPE OF MEETING JUST DOES IT NO FAVOURS. p.s. Well done Wales, fully deserved.
  7. I still maintain the meeting was a FARCE. After Cook had a dig at supporters for saying this meeting was a joke, I am glad he got his comeuppance. He thought it would be an easy 3 points by letting this meeting go ahead. I bet there was a small crowd and I would have gone had it been a proper meeting. As somebody said earlier, take AJ out of the team and it is a PL team. EL RIP.
  8. Just got back. Well done Brummies,by FAR the better team. And when I say TEAM,thats what Birmimgham are. But Kent ? Who picked Greenwood - Hunt or Silver or both ? Disaster, should of gone for Morley. I am sorry but Kent will not win anything with Mason and Clifton in the team. Brummies have young hungry riders,Kent have over the hill riders going through the motions. Feel sorry for Ayres and Shanes who`s effort was for nothing.
  9. So Brum go into the 2nd leg with a 4 point lead. I fear this will be enough for Brum to lift the Trophy. Now Perry and Bacon are back and what a lift yesterday by hitting 60 points. Such a shame Kent No 1 and skipper misses the big one. Hope I am wrong about a Brum win,but for Kings to win Clifton,Verge and Mason will have to ride out of their skins. Should be a good crowd and supporters can watch the football after the meeting.
  10. What ? The whole point is that it will be NOTHING like the Poole team. You should say `Go and support your PL Guest team then`.
  11. JOKE. I will not go. Another nail in the coffin for so called EL.
  12. No big surprise it is track record holder Dan,but I would have gone for Ben Morley for his strong Kent connection.
  13. A real blow for Kent,as Bowen injured himself in the last Heat and misses the 2nd leg. Will have to use a Guest, which is a real shame as I like to see Kings riders trying to win the Trophy.
  14. I said I would be happy with a 6-8 deficit so 4 points is good. All I can say is thank you Mr Danny Ayres. Kent`s reserves get hammered 21-1 ? All set up now for a cracker 2nd leg.
  15. I would settle for the earlier 45-45 draw. But I think if Kent can keep Brum down to a 6-8 lead it will be a job well done.
  16. Now lets get this right. I am NOT a Hammer fan. I used to go a lot to see Arena Essex/Lakeside as it is not far from Kent. I go to some meetings now. I go to see Kent Kings. I still think it is a BAD advert for Speedway these Live meetings that hardly anyone goes and when I have gone before are so spread out with delays. OK .
  17. Absolutely right. These live meetings are such a poor advert for Speedway. Seen bigger crowds in my back Garden.
  18. Looks like they ARE watching the soaps. Really poor looking crowd on back straight.
  19. I did not go because it was obviously going to be so one sided. Really do not know where Leicester go from here. And how many are going to turn up tonight ?
  20. This was always going to be a struggle for the Storm without Carr (and with him as well). For the Storm. Greenwood was the quickest rider (T/R) I have seen at Central Park this season and ever. Not just his T/R but Heat 5 when he went off 15 metres and still beat Ayres ? wow. I have to say that Knuckey rode much better than his 4 points. A real learning curve for Rob Watts who literally finished half a lap behind. I would think there is not any riders in Speedway who enjoy winning races more than Ayres and Shanes. Interesting last night that; 1) Kent did not have ANY duck eggs (you usually have a EF,fall etc). 2) Storm did not have ONE Heat advantage. 3) A team gets a thrashing but a rider from the losing team gets a T/R?
  21. Sorry if mentioned somewhere else. Lee gone but NEVER NEVER forgotten 4 years ago today ? Still remember the moment I found out like it was yesterday and the shock and surprise is still there. RIP Captain Rico.
  22. I have watched the Swedish League meetings the day after. That is what you call a PROPER Elite League. Full of World Class riders, close racing with each race in doubt who comes out on top. Great looking tracks that create good racing. Love it.
