  1. Only 13 years old James Sargeant will be back next year, this was only his 2nd year competing a this level, the lad should be proud with his progress.
  2. Apologies for been a little bit grumpy, but to be honest I am getting a bit faed up of reading about this rider and that rider when young James, who is still only 13 has a very good chance of claiming the title, but does not seem to be getting the recognition for his efforts.
  3. What a aggrogant post, maybe the rest of the boys should not bother turning up and just hand the title to young Brendan, because he is destined for the title. The lads who are top of the table are there on merit.
  4. Okay, just that nobody seems to mention James, keep hearing the name Jason Garrity, I know both boys, both very good riders, but I would give James the edge over Jason 9 times out of ten.
  5. Don't write off Sarg, he had never seen Northside and won, very talented youngman and still only 13.
  6. Who are you refering to Knudsen or Pedersen.
  7. And what exactly do you mean.
  8. Tommy was not a rider I took too, but would be nice to see what he is up to, also talking of Danes what about Jan O Pedersen.
  9. I seem to remember that around this time Shawn Moran was a Godden works rider, as was Simon Wigg at the time.
  10. I think the BSPA needs to grasp the nettle about this one, these boys need all the encouragement they can get and the competition, I have to agree that the Under 15 title has been shabbily run, and anybody who has not seen an Under 15 meeting needs to go and have a look as it is very entertaining. If we are serious about having a British World Champion then we have to nuture these boys, because given the right backing and encouragement I see no reason why one cannot come from these bunch of talented youngsters. But if we don't then we are never going to achieve that goal, somebody has mentioned Michael Lee, to be honest at first I scoffed at the idea, but Michael has seen and done it all, and see all the pitfalls and fell into a few, and I think that he would be good. I remember a few seasons ago we had I think what they called the Training academy, where top youngsters were taken and given advice from looking after there bike, looking at workshops like Sudden Sam workshop and getting valueable advice, but thisd seems to have died a death, like I say the BSPA need to grasp the nettle.
  11. Have to agree I would like to see someone else involved instead of Peter Oakes, I feel that teh guy has too many fingers in anyone pie that cannot possibly have enough time to do the job justice.
  12. I don't think that it is, I would be hard pressed to make a connection with him and Scunthorpe, the only National league club he rode for was Newcastle.
  13. No I don't think so, Brett had bright red hair.
  14. Will somebody please put me out f my misery and tell me who number 1 is, he is wearing a Sheffield body colour but I have not got a clue who it is.
  15. Right here we go; (1) Not sure who that is but should. (2) Nicky Allott father of Adam. (3) Stephen Collins youngest of the Collins clan. (4) Rob Hollingworth. (5) Peter Mcnamara (6) Arthur Browning (7) Steve Finch (8) Don't know have a guess at Mike Wilding. (9) Craig Pendlebury (10) Andy Hines (11) Keith Evans (12) Paul Evitts (13) No idea, again guess at Kevin Teager (14) Nigel Crabtree. Well Scunny Stag how did I do.
  16. Like Dean I was born in 1964, so I never got too see the Great Peter Craven, but my Dad used to tell me all about him, and somewhere in there house they have a photo of Peter. Great article Ron and one that throughly enjoyed reading.
  17. Have to agree with you on the John Berry been an independent boss of speedway, I had never thought about him.
  18. Harsh words SCB but there is an element of truth in what you are saying, but lets be fair you never quite sure how a rider is going to develop. Who would have guessed that Chris Harris would win a Grand Prix, reach a final, and still be in the top eight with one round to go. I do take your point though, I think that sometimes people do say a rider will be a Grand Prix one day too easily.
  19. Does not mean we have to stop trying, put the proper kind of money, all 4 of the tracks I have mention are capable and I think would be keen to get involved.
