Olsen certainly would be higher and no disrespect Tony is no way number two in my book he would be in a top six and i know he won six titles but i would put Crump/ Gollob on his level as well.

Never really enjoyed the racing at Cowley ER,was always great to go there though in local derbies great atmosphere the three team tournaments were great.Often a 11.olock start with another fixture at 7.30 great days really.I went regular to Oxford for about three years when Nielsen really was the business, was never a fan but i changed my mind about him his record overall is embarrassing so good.

One thing from this thread that really strikes home to me is Rick,Crump,Gollob were all capable of dominating an era.Crump was unlucky he should of won more titles and with Gollob's mega talent he should of as well.Those three names were one of the reasons that i often overlooked Greg, but his longevity is impressive and he has every chance of winning another title.

Greg Hancock for me was never one of my favourite riders, he was good and progressed to being a great rider and i admired him but i often overlooked him.I see him ride quite alot a terrific rider but what stuck out for me was his personality great with the fans have a chat autographs (ect) GENIUNE which was great.This year again at an advanced age he can win a fourth title amazing really, Autrey was my favourite American followed by Sigalos but Hancock now is the man a real nice man great rider.I wondered what others think ?and now he has to be high up in the list of great riders of our sport must be in the top 15 ever.?

Woffinden his attitude was not always great, he addressed that and got his rewards whenever i have seen Ward top class aquipment a great team and he is always ready to race.

Phil Crump in 1975 was often mentioned in speedway circles by Briggs (ect) as a World Champion he should of been.Briggs said he should of saved his Street conversion and he could of been World Champion he was good anough.People forget before Phil's crash with Ashby at Sheffield in 77 he was often around the best six riders in the world i would say certainly in 74,75,76.For me in 75 it was one that got away from Phil, for me Adams along with Simmo are the two finest riders style wise that i have ever see ride.Crump(senior), Sigalos,Adams, are the three in my lifetime that were good anough at one single time to be World Champion but it was not to be.

Custom a great seven no Farndon? but i certainly would have Lee,Carter,Simmons above Jessup, also Ray Wilson,Ashby,Betts, both Boocock's at least at the same level as Louis.

I think you are wrong to say MOST dislike him,people i speak to generally want him to be punished but also to maybe help him in the future.I certainly do i think he should be severely fined that put into the injured riders fund and aloud to start in March but he has to miss the GP Series for a year even miss the Australian GP believe me that will hurt.Also he should have a two year period where he has to stay out of strife, all down to Darcy then.I also don't agree with all the Middleditch crap friends stick together in my experience and i admire Neil for that ok he has got angry and said certain thing's (who hasn't ) but mates stick together forever.Ward for me is the biggest talent i have seen since Michael Lee, i hope he keeps his head down and shows us what he can do.I will be supporting him anyway,i hope this week the episode is finished with one way or another.

Steve/ Compost,you both have done great jobs with the records i just hope Compost did not take it as a slur on him by me starting the thread.As i have said yourself, Compost, Dave Allan1 have helped me alot with my personnel collection without it i would of been knackered.Keep on going with the great work as i no doubt will have a query or to in the future as 1976 is a year i have been researching for my memorabilia collection.

Would you say that great Brazil side of 1970 was pedestrian? the Busby Babes also the Charlton/Best/Law teams and the great Liverpool teams.I don't enjoy football as much now less individuals in my book, every team years ago had a star player even the struggling sides.
