Since when did Thursday not suit Ipswich? Also the situation of being back un the top league in itself is not a problem either The 1 question mark is what Busters budget will allow and whether this takes advantage of the many positives of the Ipswich move or not..... Even if not then I dont see it there being a significant enough position to cause a Rye type scenario

But the question was - who is paying the bills? Buster or A N Other..... -
Seems like we are a bit dumb here in Suffolk - fancy us keep asking Chris what our team will be We really shouldve realised that the man to ask is Matt Ford - apparently he has known our 1-7 since early December!! Now where is his email address.......
-
If Matt knows the Ipswich 1-7 can he please send one of his famous texts to Chris and let him in on it
-
I dont think he was in any Championship plans but whether that wouldve been different with the switch of league who knows The change of league possibly negates any official rules re contact - he was a Somerset Premiership rider after all
-
What like 4 year Witch Covatti whom Matt called whilst still at the AGM to get him signed up before it was even released that Ipswich were moving up....
-
Different promotion so not relevant That Birmingham folded and was liquidated including its assets

When did the regulation change about NL teams being able to hold rider registrations for these to be quoted as "Kent assets" ?
-
And how many will ride for Busters rates?.....
-
I was still a twinkle in my dads eye then! I was lucky that my childhood was Louis Sanders Davey Jolly Lanham etc
-
Great signing for Kent and a good move for Drew He should clean up in the NL and take that confidence into the Championship and hopefully beyond
-
No chance
-
I dont think that will happen even if it means 6 plus r/r
-
So the Witches Christmas tree is 2 presents short and a trip to the January sales is needed
-
Id be happy with Nescafe and Tesco standard riders.... Everyone so far seems to be predicting we will get Camp and Happy Shopper
-
Agree with that - any mention for Ivan would not need to be just because of his link to speedway He shouldve been worthy of acknowledement purely on his achievement in an overall sporting sense
-
A league sponsor "is closer than in many a year" were the words of Chris Louis at a recent Witches fan night Lets hope that bears fruit and a new improved TV deal follows Lets hope clubs use it for a longer term approach rather than JUST throwing it ALL at riders if/when it arrives
-
Depends how you puncuate it Is it BBC - Sports Personality..... Or BBC Sports - Personality...... The BBC 'mission statement' is supposed to means its remains impartial so just because it doesnt show a sport shouldnt mean it is ignored That said apart from a brief second or so of Tai as World Champion in the round up list I dont see (unfortunately) that speedway can expect any recognition
-
Lets see once we eventually name our full 7....

In the past riders on assessed averages have not been able to double up Must have an attained an average from the previous season in either league which is then converted

There is nothing wrong with the new conversion rate or its longer term intention which is to create a recognisable gap between the 2 league standards It will also make doubling down less attractive Where (as often) it falls down is that the inplementation creates as many questions as answers and therfore anomalies as per this situation At the moment the difference in standard does not warrant a rate of 1.5 Boro have worked out this team superbly to take advantage - its not their fault the figures are currently skewed! There are other issues too which havent been addressed such as riders having lower 2nd tier averages than top tier - this is far more of a challenge to the set up and longer term aim It would be relatively straight forward to combine results from both leagues for riders doubling up, use the agreed conversion to weight the relevant part, and provide a single average to be used in both leagues -

I would imagine Dean that this could be one of the most difficult things to deal with Whilst all riders go into it with their eyes open about the risk of injury to themselves to know you are the cause of anothers misfortune (however accidental) must be very hard at times -
