  1. We need to start showing up away from home on a consistent basis. A point at least should always be a feasible aim. Going for a draw tonight. Up the Witches!! 👍
  2. I can totally understand why a few are planning to give it a miss. It has been pretty mundane fayre in the last couple of meetings. I'm going on the basis that if you're not expecting much you cant be too disappointed Sometimes its those meetings that don't seem they are likely to be the best that actually turn out to be just that
  3. but if there is any kind of consistency they wont. There have been multiple precedents this year already. (Including the Witches one I missed 😴😴)
  4. Armando made the decision on behalf of the FIM perhaps..... 😜
  5. ⬆⬆ tend to agree - but Lukas has proved my point 😆
  6. Thats one of the strange quirks of speedway - rider does well and all of a sudden no teams wants to take the risk on a high average. Yet when a rider does poorly they are seen as a bargain average and at least initially in demand. Hall has probably had too many poor showings now to still be in that 2nd category but there will still be that nagging thought in fans heads - "he could smash his average if he can find a bit of form" Could go either way.
  7. Ipswich Town FC have announced a new pricing structure for next season with the aim to attract a younger fan base. Under 23s will be able to obtain entry for £15 (standard is £25) and prices 12-19 and for under 12 slashed against previous season figures. That shows its not just speedway will an ageing demographic and similar concerns.
  8. Whilst Kyles points return has been a little down on that hoped for/expected one thing he hasnt lacked is effort. He has had few 'poor rides' and generally even when he hasnt scored he has been in the mix. Just that 5% something missing which will return IMO and hopefully sooner rather than later.
  9. whoops my mistake it was indeed a mix (I am wrong sometimes and happy to admit when I am) I will blame trying to read downloads in small print on my phone 😉 My opinion doesnt change - I would say that all 7 should be revised upon redeclaration in this case - All on original or all on revised. That gives a true reflection of the team total. Of course in this case as I mentioned that would include Danyon and therefore change was under like for like - 2.26/4.57.
  10. So should we expect each teams 1-7 to be awarded a revised average whether the individual riders have ridden the 4h 4a or not......
  11. NONE of the Ipswich riders had their new average in force. ALL of the 1-7 were using the season start figures to make the 40 limit. Yes it couldve been decided to enforce ALL revised figures (indeed perhaps SHOULD) in which case Greaves was over 2 points BELOW the rider he replaced.
  12. Not quite the same as all the original averages were used for the total to be under 40 and not a mix taking advantage of some dropping. The other thing to bear in mind is that had the revised averages been used then Danyon would have been raised from his 2 to a new figure of 4.57 meaning Greaves would fit under by over 2 points 😛
  13. Appeasement isnt the answer... Be loud and be principled.... All it takes for 'evil' to flourish is for good men to do nothing.... ✊✌📣📣
  14. If you dont storm to the title with a team built using 4 more points than every other team you have failed miserably 😛
  15. Well its the battle of 2 teams that made 'astute' changes to take advantage in the hiatus between averages becoming effective to build teams 2+ points above the league limit so should be a top drawer contest 😜
  16. Not putting down the idea at all. If practical then every club should do it. However in the real world the likes of Newcastle and Ipswich (and others but those quoted as are the posters who have commented so far) dont have the option. Ipswich for example would be able to prep and cover on the Sunday at the earliest following a Tursday meeting if there was a stock car meeting. Unless of course its the hokey cokey covers on covers off covers on between stadium uses.
  17. Nathan Greaves rode for IOW on Thursdays but ended up at Ipswich...
  18. So at Foxhall they put the covers on by midnight after the Thursday meeting and leave them till next week?? I wonder what state they would be in after 50 stock cars had run over them 1000s of times on the Saturday night. I suppose that the speedway promotion could arrange for the track team to come in at midnight Saturday and put them on...
  19. I agree and it would still be wrong if it was Ipswich. Yes it is down to the BSPA.
  20. The crack is that Peterborough (and others) were allowed to use the mix of new and old averages when there was a mechanism within the regs to update all which wouldve resulted in the team total being a truer reflection of its strength. One of the most fundamental elements of speedway regs is the aim to have equal strength teams through the points limit. This has been undermined IMO. The saddest and most frustrating part is that it was so obviously an issue that could have been dealt with in the winter when it was decided to reset the averages (along with conversion ratios etc)
  21. Now that you have managed to squeeze Harris in through the cracks in the regulations - a proper number 1 for a flaky 2nd string - 000stergaard finds himself in the position that fits his current status. That change has moved him from an under performing under pressure heat leader to a comfortably placed higher ranked 2nd string.
  22. There is a saying - "Take one step back to take two steps forward" Hopefully its true....
  23. Plenty of other tracks could afford covers - I dont think cost is the issue for all. The problem is the logistics of stadium use and man power as to when they could be used.
