  1. One point Id say is relevant is that about in order for a rider on a tier 5 visa to compete then ALL clubs would have to obtain a tier 5 licence regardless of whether they themselves have a rider on that visa. Presumably this comes at some cost and so you can understand clubs saying no - unless Somerset and the others are going to fund all 23 licences.
  2. Also stated that it will be unlikely to have a positive impact for this year but hope to get it sorted for the future.
  3. Obvious choice as he is probably the only rider to justisfy a guranteed place in a 4 man WC team.
  4. So now it becomes obvious why there was the delay. Its results day for Sky and they at the same time announced the renewal of 6 of their deals. Part of their strategy to say look at us - sign up.
  5. Does Lemon even need a visa? British wife? Permanent residency and working rights? Not certain but I think that is right.
  6. But wouldve had a facility (r/r) rather than having to use a NL 6 pointer.
  7. This is the part that seems most relevant IMO It seems that even where lessons have been learned now a further problem exists. It reads to me that with the scheme used then it would only be possible to use in alternate years. What would be good to know is what specific sponsorship scheme is referred to and if any other scheme can be used to replace it if a rider is affected.
  8. Thanks for that - although my question was more specifically about any reaction to his wrist injury.
  9. I posted a similar request for info on the Aussie U21 thread but no reply as yet. Perhaps those that 'do Twitter' could enlighten us as to whether there is anything on there(??)
  10. draft riders wiil stay at reserve all year and wont be given an average at all.
  11. Lost your happy pills mate?! lol So long as the correct process is followed then no problems. Relax and prepare to enjoy another season with a young and exciting competetive team.
  12. Good research Womble. I will play devils advocate as a pendaintic border agency worker deciding whether to stamp the Doyle visa. Point 1 - The supplementary work must be at the same level or on the shortage occupation list. DECLINE Point 3 - The additional hours must be outside the normal working hours of the original sponsorship. DECLINE
  13. Well done to the finalists. Any news about Cam? Seemed to struggle a bit and then didnt rake his final ride. All OK with the wrist?
  14. It could all be a load of bull though! I hope it is sorted satisfactorily. The PL will be the poorer fot it if not.
  15. The figure suggested was approx £400 per application which in itself seems reasonable. The significant expense was that to switch between employers on this type of visa meant paying this fee each time (so potentially each meeting) If this was correct then it would make riding for more than one team impractical.
  16. although some have intimated that it would be expensive if riding for 2 clubs due to switching admin fees.
  17. I believe(see what I did there!)that he will be applying to renew upon his return next month as his doesnt expire til March. I understand there is a 4 week window to reapply and you have to be in the UK at the time.
  18. Good luck then Cam and stay safe. Looks like a competitive line up and should be a good un.
  19. Dryml will up his ave IMO. 10 at home 7 away would be my guess - 8.5 overall. Decent signing and a very good team overall.
  20. Lindgren and Kerr Doolan and Bjerre Howarth and Harrison
