The thing is that these dates are not just blank weeks - they are designated as reserved dates for rain offs and cup rounds. Taking Edinburgh as an example presumably they have given permission to riders to arrange these holidays (??) If so why given they knew if they progressed in the cup they could be up against a team where the reserved date was for that week!! -

Surely when you are a professional in a sport that takes place for only 6 months of the year and has a known history of short notice rescheduling of fixtures then you dont go booking holidays?!Perhaps promotions should also be doing more to plan the rearrangements earlier. This is not a dig at the Monarchs in isolation but more of a general observation. -

So the first 14 heats are drawn and the Witches team pack in 2nd and 3rd earning 14 bonus points. Then in 15 they concede a 2-4. Do the Witches win the meeting 58-46??? No they lose 44-46!!! What a plank you are!! -

I applaud Aljack for a least setting out a constructive theory as this rarely is the case. As Mr S has pointed out the practacalities are somewhat different and this shows that Aljack also owns a pair of those rose tinted specs that he so often accuses others of wearing!! -

I was so close to pushing the like button to the Ajack post which was shaping up to be a fitting tribute to a great man. Shame the dig in brackets let it down. (Mod Note ; Comment referred to has now been removed) -

A reply like a Nicki Pedersen pass - hard and will get people debating if its fair!! All bar Leigh can take r/r ride in place of Dak tonight. -

Probably comes down to the fact that if Doolan stayed he would go to No1 for August and there was less confidence in his scoring there than Leigh at No3. -

Average is too high surely. About 5.6 in elite equates to over 9 in Premier. -

Recalling Taylor right now is a big risk. Perhaps it will be someone else. I hear that dane Ramus is in the country but was not planning to ride. Maybe that might change. Anybody know anything more concrete?? -

Id imagine at least half a dozen clubs will be in line hoping to sign him as a third heat leader on that kind of averageA likely bargain in that position. -

I certainly accept your point of view on this. With the likes of Chris and Donkey around who were superb starters you would think there would be more hands on coaching. Even experienced riders as ours are would benefit as they wont always realise those little things that are just not quite right. Of course Chris wasnt there last week to do this.
