Because with the 1-7 Poole started with the bookies made them favourites. Quite clearly that 1-7 are nowhere near good enough to have been deemed favourites...................therefore the bookies got the odds wrong

I was there that night and he clipped Robbie Fullers back wheel and just went through full pelt on the back wheel and had has spleen removed. Same night Frede Schott cartwheeled down the back straight with his helmet flying off.....awful night -
Swindon vs Poole BH Mon 7th May
Gavan replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes some people did. Flaky Poles, Holder saga, Sundstrom for Hans, Kurtz not a true number one. All theories put forward by some fans before a wheel was turned........only to be told that we were talking rubbish and this was the nest Poole team assembled. With regards to the match Swindon by 8 is a perfectly reasonable outcome to expect -
Please tell me which team members have done their job? Kildemand has even gone off the boil. To me Woryna has done ok getting 6 points a meeting but he was being talked of as a future GP rider and a potential 8 average so although i think he is doing fine some will disagree. Kurtz on averages was a weak number one and hasnt started well Josh is ok in patches Sundstrom has been poor and so has the other Pole. Shanes had a poor meeting at Wolves getting 2+1 but he outscored his reserve partner and was let down by 2 heat leaders only getting 11 between them. His home scores of 3 from 3 and 1 + 1 from 3 and 2+1 are whats expected
-
You already have proved them wrong because you were favourites at the start
-
Nope i didnt cry when you signed the Poles have a look back. I said it was legit bu that i didnt expect them to add loads of points on to their averages. I will say it again, the way the team is built Shanes wouldnt beat many riders and 2-3 points a meeting should be enough. He has done his job the others havent
-
Im talking about some of your fans....one in particular who 100% said this was the best Poole team assembled and would walk the league. As i said it compares to me the same as last seasons original 1-7 and the hopes back then and look how that turned out. KK, Holder, Kurtz, Newman, Andersen, Klindt and Shanes looks a better 1-7 than the current team
-
Thought this was the best 1-7 Poole have had ever had? Well a change this early proves that all wrong as most people knew. Seems like Ford has lost his touch in finding the right riders and/or Middlo isnt a very good manager....well certainly not as good as Rosco. Maybe Ford should look to tempt Rosco and keep the riders he might motivate them better. So another young Brit moved on , shades of Howarth, Newman and Ellis all over again. Shanes was doing his job as a 2 pointer in a team thats top heavy, yet the other 6 barely perform and he goes, must feel gutted. Do your job and sacked. Plain to see that Sundstrom and MS have been awful and Kurtz hardly setting the world alight yet they seem untouchable. Ive seen the videos on here of what Woryna can do in Poland and was told how he would be at least a 7 pointer..................lol

Only losing by 6 with 2 of our top 3 missing is fine with me. It’s the league that counts and we are second. Concentrate on your shower
-
Can’t be dropped and then reintroduced or is that going to be changed to suit Poole
-
Oh and just while were debating.......................Ipswich currently 2nd in the league...............been a while since Poole have got that high....pr1ck
-
Cant believe Poole have got rid of Shanes. Build a top heavy team and then expect a 2 pointer to get 5 or 6 a meeting because the top end isnt performing. Ford says its for a month then Shanes might come back in................if i was Shanes i would tell him to stick it where the sun doesnt shine and concentrate on Sheffield
-
Oops here’s my stalker alert!! We have Covatti injured again, we have King missing the whole meeting and a still unfit Hume. But unlike you and a few other Poole fans we didn’t shout from the rooftops about how we were going to win the league and everyone else was crap. Sensible enough to realise that results are on the track not from d1ckheads like yourself crowing before a wheel is turned
-
As I said before a wheel was turned that a lot of Poles don’t bring their form over here so was 2 risky signings and Linus was never likely to match Hans. Kurtz needs to step up and start scoring 12-13 a meeting not the 7-10 he is managing , seems to me like his priorities are in Poland. The Poole team was built around the top 5 scoring heavy with the potential that the number 6 should be capable of scoring well and then Shanes would only need the 2-3 points a meeting. Those idiots calling for Shanes to go are deluded. Yes he is a weak reserve but that’s how the team was built. He isn’t going to score 6 or more a meeting , he simply is being let down by his team mates

Somerset v Poole KO Cup Weds 2nd May 2018.
Gavan replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Oh dear oh dear now some Poole fans saying they knew the team wasn’t good enough lol The poles haven’t done anything like they were expected to. Kurtz is proving he is the weakest number one in the league , Sundstrom is a poor replacement for Hans. Yet they want Shanes out?? A young Brit doing his job!!! The team was built top heavy and it’s failed and Shanes gets stick!!! -
If Poole manage to get Kurtz , Holder and Kildemand in the same team as Josh G and Woryna at reserve then its pretty obvious that they are on the fiddle

Gavan replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole are hot favourites for this one with Kurtz and Josh in the line up and the Poles should like the track. Lose this one and surely something needs to be done. The best ever team assembled we were told..........................laughable -
Its all in response to one or two very very smug Poole fans telling everyone before the season started how Poole were so much better than everyone else and would win the league easily. Sensible Poole fans knew not to get carried away as last season the same numptys said the same things only to get egg on their face. Poole can still turn it around.........but if you are going to dish out rubbish before a wheel is turned you have to expect a bit back when it goes wrong
-
Yes sorry my error......................KK was Pooles number one..................and he was replaced by Kennett.........who then rode at number four..........good signing!
-
And am i right in thinking that Kennett would drop to reserve for this one? Pooles number one from last season now at reserve for Rye
-
So why get a rider to break the tapes? Just replace the rider with the reserve in the first place. And again what would you do in the scenario i mentioned?
-
But what if the rider who breaks the tapes is a reserve? Heat 9 is the home team 3 & 4 and the away team 5 & 6. If the away number 6 breaks the tapes then what do you do.? Mark says put them off 15 metres but that wouldnt be fair as chances are the reserve would never catch up. There would be exceptions , Bewley being one of those. Yet in the same heat if the home number 3 breaks the tapes he could in all theory catch the number 6 of the away side off of 15 metres. Cant see how you can just have the rule that all riders go off of 15 metres.
-
Good pictures but nothing on 2 greats Tony Rickardsson and Mark Loram bit strange
-
Woryna rode at number 4 for the last part of the season and did quite well. See strange that he hasnt carried on his improvement he has shown abroad to over here
-
Szczepaniak has along with Shanes done his job, its the top end thats the issue. And we was told in no uncertain terms how good Woryna was going to be because of how good he is in Poland. So far he hasnt shown anything to make me think he could challenge for a heat leader role though that may change in time
