Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Dont think Tai sees Holder as a realistic threat to his title. That will come no doubt from Hancock and maybe a couple of others. Holder will be around 6th or 7th -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Of course it could be done but if you dont need to why bother?? He cant just drop Cardiff! All the GP boys have moaned about their diary around Cardiff and rightly so. The British Final is low on the list for a world champion with the other meetings around it, and why people cant see that is beyond me! -

spot on............but you know that a certain person cannot comprehend that in any way. Being World Champion is the ultimate goal and he is contracted to do Poland. The British Champion is a title but not as big as one as World Champion. Its no longer a qualification stage like it used to be. Therefore how high up the priority list is it for a World Champion?? It isnt and its pretty obvious why not to most people -

your wrong there because any advert for the british final and the sport as a whole is good. My friend who doesnt follow speedway but knows i do remarked that he saw the world champion wasnt riding in the Daily Mirror! without that he wouldnt have even known there was a British Final! You are a very warped person who simply refuses to comprehend anything anyone else tells you. The British Final this year has had more publicity than for as long as i can remember and part of that is down to Tai NOT being there. You think its taken away the glory??? ha ha you are so foolish Im sure if you ask Scott Nicholls if he wins his 8th title , or Chris Harris his 4th, or Craig Cook his 1st after coming second twice, that the wouldnt celebrate or feel that achievement was undermined because Tai wasnt there Your a bit precious arent you to think your right about all of this. A wide open British Final, without the red hot favourite, on a good track, in a great stadium.............means im travelling to see it rather than watch it on Sky and im sure others are the same. Spot on post.............Craig Cook has a family BBQ he isnt going to attend to.................Scott Nicholls has a day trip to Alton Towers planned and the others are all quite upset they would miss Eastenders because of the Bobby Beale storyline but they are putting British Speedway first and doing the British Final........absolute troopers the lot of them Sensible!! Knew you wouldnt understand so please name these 'other commitments' .......or you not going to answer the question like you didnt regarding their pay..........oh no hang on you know their commitments because you had a go at speedway once! Exactly.........dumb and dumber but Robert72 has a friend now -
Should Ex Riders Get Into Speedway Free?
Gavan replied to Grachan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
As i say Mark Loram doesnt pay at Ipswich but then should he also get in free at Poole, Lakeside and Eastbourne for example. Fine line as you say about where to draw the line on who should pay and at what tracks. -

Maybe they should all put out then if Tai isnt riding as there is no point if he isnt there!!!! You come out with some gems! Oh and have you worked out that with Tai not riding it has made the final make news that it wouldnt have done if he had been there? Good PR for the sport getting some headlines and having the British Final talked about in the national press Yes they are totally the same with one in an individual sport and the other a team game! Dear oh dear some of the garbage ive read!! Do you think you get to the top be pleasing everyone or by being a little bit selfish in what you do?? -

Mark Loram goes to Ipswich and doesnt have to pay -
what are you going on about?? Oh do you think that better riders makes better racing?? Stop talking out your backside. You can have a great meeting at any level, elite league, premier league or national league. Ive seen some shocking gp's and some great national league racing I dont get your point or you just trolling for a reaction. Do you think tracks like Somerset and Peterborough for example dont provide good racing??? Coming from someone who supports one of the worst tracks currently its a bit rich to say that premier league racing cant be as good I agree to an extent but having sen my club in both leagues i feel there is less of an issue at premier league level
-
the racing could be better in the elite league than the premier, but i can say as fact that the racing certainly isnt worse in the premier. Its just there is so much politics in the elite league, guests, double uppers, edr riders that quite simply i would prefer to stay premier

seems to have got quite a bit of attention on this forum due to him not being there!!! Oh and its had quite a few column inches in the national papers as well because he isnt riding. I very much doubt the final would have made the papers before the event if Tai was there , so yes it has had more media coverage due to him not being there!! And i dare say it will get more pr when we have a new winner that isnt Tai!! -

Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Tai was pretty much unbeatable on other tracks and on many he had a better average away from Monmore as proved on here before. He would be unbeatable on bigger tracks Huge PR loss??? Talking absolute tosh. Its bigger PR that he is missing as i explained As explained to Robert72 but i guess he still has his own agenda -
You need to go specsavers then pal. Ive mentioned many times that i go probably about 7 times a season due to work and the fact i have a family. What has going to elite league meetings got to do with the fact that i think the league is poorly run??? I said there is to much crap involved in the elite league meaning the way it is run.........why i need to go to a meeting to have that opinion is lost on me. Go on elite league threads........most are moaning about the draft, heat leaders at reserve, poor tracks and how bad the agm was. Go on premier league threads and its mainly just the meetings. No politics in the premier

You need to look at it that this is now the most open field for years at a brilliant new stadium and track. Im going because Tai isnt there more than the other way around. I have to travel from Essex to Manchester and take a day off work to go. If Tai was riding i more than likely would have saved my money and watched it on the box as he was most certain to win it. So if you think he has lost ticket sales then you are wrong Its also bigger in the media than if he was riding as it is so open now. Remember when Man Utd pulled out of the FA Cup to play in Brazil?? That recieved far more media attention for the FA cup then they could have dreamed of. To say its damaging for British Speedway is foolish To say he should be dropped from the world cup shows you to be the fool -
Elite league is on its knees and has been for ages. I would much prefer Ipswich stayed premier, the racing is better (though our track isnt great) and the league is far far better run. Would i be interested in going elite just to see the odd few better riders?? Im missing out on Doyle Zagar Iversen Holder ,and then the rest of the heat leaders are made up of premier league number ones and riders who are ok at premier level. I see most of the elite league riders at Foxhall bar the odd one. Auty, Klindt, Bates, Josh G, Starke, Wright, Tungate, Kennett, Masters, have already ridden at Foxhall and in the next few weeks Lambert, Steve Worrall, Richie Worrall, Lawson, Kurtz, Newman and Cook are due Add to that King and Sarjeant every week and as i say not many left worth seeing. No stick to premier league as there is to much crap involved in the elite league.

You pick the best 4 riders available is it that hard!! Woffinden and Cook are our best 2 riders then it's any 2 based on opinion from Harris Nicholls and Lambert. And yes Bwitcher is spot on. If Nicholls was miles ahead of Lambert on ability then pick him but I agree that there isn't much between the 2 so then of course other factors come in to play. I've stopped trying to feed the fool that is Robert72 but his posts are so ridiculous I can't help myself! hee hee that's got to be the daftest post yet! Have a good read see where your argument falls down! Priceless! -

No we havent and thats the point or are you missing something?? Robert72 made the claims not me. I said what it was like 10-15 years ago He was asked for evidence and so far cant provide any apart from the fact he rode a bike!! oops sorry i replied to star lady before i saw your response underneath. guess we both sing from the same hymn sheet on this one -
British Final Belle Vue June 13th.

if you read my post i said the odd were in reverse. That means Stead should be 10/1 and Garrity 12/1. This means i think Stead has a better chance than Garrity!! -
Wolves V Coventry Mon 6th June 2016
Gavan replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The draft was designed to bring riders on and progress but all thats happening is riders are scoring for fun in reserve then struggling when going up, denting their confidence and then dropping back down again. Garrity had the right idea (for himself, maybe not his team) by riding in the 1-5 and look at his progress now, another level above most of the reserves (Steve Worrall apart) -

Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
No i have given facts not opinions. Up until at least 2004 ALL riders were paid the same to appear in a British Final wether they scored 3 or 13. Robert72 is adamant that now they get paid differently. All me and Bwitcher have asked is for him to provide evidence. For all i know he may be right. But to say his evidence is because he rode once is rubbish -

Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
mate i agree 100% it may have changed. It hadnt in 2004 but it may have. My point is that if Robert72 feels the pay is different then he needs to provide his evidence...........and not the fact he swung his leg over a bike once! -
I only disagree with the part that says Poole have been hit harder than most by the rule!! 2 of the best 5 reserves in the league ride at Poole. When one moves up they have either the Australian champ or Bjarne Pedersen dropping down. I agree it needs looking at but Poole are hardly the worst hit are they!!

bit more than just chucked a few quid at him, do ridets often go to the funerals of people who once gave them a bit of money? I suggest regarding my family you keep it quiet! And no I never raced him and what that has to do with the fact about Tai not racing I have no idea!!! Your in your own sad little world -

Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Well for the record the guy has mocked the fact that i know the Loram family so i tried my best in type to show i did. therefore proving his claim as false. He has made a claim that riders are all payed differently in the British Final. Im awaiting his evidence........or evidence that doesnt include the line that he used to ride. which is exactly my point! back in the 90's and at the start of the decade ALL riders in the British Final got paid the same absolute FACT. Robert72 tells us otherwise and all we ask is that he can prove this which he cant at all. Oh wait yes he can...............his proof is that he used to ride!! -

Right pal you need to listen and listen good. I used to go Hackney every Friday night with my aunt and uncle and stand by the pit wall overlooking the pits. Mark was a 14 year old mascot at the time and my uncle owned a coach company and used to pass him £50 to £100 over the wall every week. We became good friends with Marks mum and dad and his sister, even his grandad 'pop' as we used to call him who wasnt there much because he came from the west country. We also became good friends with Marks mechanic Jorge from South Africa and he still to this day comes round and sees myself and my family. When Mark won his first British Final he gave my aunty his race jacket which my cousin still owns At most grass track meetings Mark used to come and sit in my uncles mini bus. My aunty died in Feb 2000 so never saw 'her mark' win the world title, however Mark was at her funeral to pay his respects. So if you want to question my association with the Loram family then go ahead!!!!!!!!!! I hope your sides recover from hurting as you clearly think i was lying so i will await an apology. I havent criticised you for trying the sport but quite clearly you never got anywhere or is that a lie as well?? And YES when Mark rode in British Finals wether he scored 15 or 5 he got the same money, that pal is FACT!!!!! So come on then prove your answer!!! -

Its not about an opinion its to do with making up lies and then calling it factual because ' he happens to have rode a speedway bike'!!
