Holder struggling bringing his elite league form to the gp. Should win his next ride its his easiest before a tricky heat 16. Though he is off the inside in his last 2. Good to see him dropping points because as a patriotic brit it's good for Tai that the leader is struggling. Hancock going well again but my bet on Lindback going ok.......so far! -

qualified 100% fairly this year so why let someone else have a go if they weren't good enough to qualify??? I admit he isn't good enough but daft statement to say he shouldn't be there -
he did have the red leathers. It was at Lynn and Tood won heat 2 against Mark who then went unbeaten after that
-
We followed Mark Loram everywhere and i remember at the start of the 1990 season when Mark had moved to Lynn and Todd to Reading Both of them rode at number 7 and Mark i think got 17 and Todd 15. You knew then that these guys were special and of course later that year Todd was world number 3. And he always said it was a pleasure to race Mark who he considered one of the safest riders he raced against.

Gavan replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Maths not your strong point obviously as your heat leaders scored more than ours by 12 points over the 2 meetings We won at home by 3 points as our reserves matched your reserves. Last night we lose by 13 and your reserves outscore ours by more. Change that around to the reserves getting the same and we would have lost by 7. -

At Ipswich your heat leaders outscored us by 5 points yet we still won At Edinburgh your heat leaders outscored us by 7 and we get beat easily Your top 3 is stronger than ours i would say. You lost at our place because your second strings and r/r did nothing. Last night the riders at 2 and 4 in both teams scored the same. Our reserves at home scored 8 and yours got 9 Last night your reserves got 11 and we got 5. Our reserves were the reason -

because the others apart from Sarjeant did their job away fromhome. Our 2 reserves this season have never managed 10 between them all season and I would say without looking that have probably only won 2 or 3 races. We never get a heat as advantage in the reserves races. If your reserves between them are getting only 7 at best your always going to be struggling not an easy target at all but check Ipswich results all season and tell me if you think the scores at home and away are good enough?? -

Yet again our reserves and Sarjeant let us down against the worst Edinburgh side I can remember we should have got closer. Fisher past his best and a weak link at 4 and we couldn't get close. Our reserves never get 10 between them on any track! -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If you truly believe that then you are even more of a buerk then i thought. In your strange little bubble you think: Tai should ride here because he is British He shouldnt have the right because he is British to earn more money elsewhere. He basically should ride over here and earn less You talk absolute sh1te I have a cousin who 5 years ago went to work in Hong Kong because he was offered a lot of money to do that, money which means by the time he is 50 he will have retired and living and doing what he wants. The shelf life of a top speedway rider earning good money is relatively short maybe 10 years or so. After he retires why shouldnt Tai or for that matter any other rider have enough money to live comfortably -
Should Ex Riders Get Into Speedway Free?
Gavan replied to Grachan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Another thread, another topic and still the same character puts out claims and cant back them up in anyway. I see no reason why a paralysed rider shouldnt be charged the same as someone who is paralysed but hadnt ridden, but again it depends on the promotion. I would imagine Lawrence Hare and Kim Jansson would get into Ipswich free but would be understandable if Darcy Ward or Garry Stead didnt. -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The stock answer he gives is that he rode once so he knows more than us! Holder has been world champion and you can bet any money you like if he qualifies again for the GP then he will probably not do the UK, doesnt even like the tracks. Jonsson and Bomber are now past there best and cant be World Champ and in Jonsson's case when he was riding at the top end of the gp he left the UK out of his plans...........hmm cant think why Iversen is here but doesnt really want to be and nobody can say that Zagar gives 100% over here. The top boys do not see the UK as important if they want the ultimate goal. Yet people moan at Tai.....quite pathetic really -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
You are correct So again please answer why you expect a top sportsmen to ply his trade somewhere where he can only earn a fraction of what he could elsewhere please?? Only Tai haters dont understand that concept and expect him to ride here in a league that wouldnt really test him and is awkward to fit in and pays a pittance to elsewhere All of the people up in arms about him not riding here are the same people saying how bad the money is here!! They are answering their own argument!! -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
For once you are spot on You actually are giving the reason why Tai wont ride over here so im glad you agree with me and Bwitcher rather than the other lot. Why should a top rider irrelevent of his nationality, be expected to ride in his own country if the money and the tracks are not good enough? He wont ride here while the structure and finances are they way they are. Just because he is British people think he must ride here?? Why?? Its totally irrelevent. Greg Hancock wants to be world champion so does Nicki Pedersen and i cant see them riding in the Uk for the money we offer and the different race nights. Well done Starman for pointing out what the others cant see Wow that top paragraph was written in such good English! Of course the money in the UK isnt as good as in Poland or are you seriously that thick!! And we was talking about the money on offer to do the British Final not the Elite League, so well done for using bits and pieces from different arguments to try and put a point across I told you factually that all riders were paid the same at least up until 2004 to ride in the British Final irrelevent of how many points they got. Unless you can prove differently then yes you are talking out your arse Its so good to see all of you now realising the truth as to why the top riders dont ride here and all coming round to the proper way of thinking. If the money was better and the tracks then more of the top boys would ride here. Its not hard to understand. In one breath you Tai haters all moan that he has turned his back on the Uk then in the vey next breath say that riders wont ride here for the money!!!! What do you expect a top rider to do??? -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

nope don't mind people having different opinions I just struggle having a conversation with idiots. And no Tai isn't the most unpopular world champion he will be the most remembered one ever a true legend in the UK for winning it 3 maybe 4 or 5 times. It's funny how the Tai haters are pretty much all the forum morons like yourself , Shovlar and Starman who lets be fair are 3 people whose opinions nobody actually gives a stuff about -

trolling at its finest from one of the forums biggest?????? Nice tirade but basically nobody gives a rats arse on your opinion when it's designed to gain a reaction. Pathetic and childish are 2 words that spring to mind. Anyway I'm in the majority of probably around 95% on this thread who understand how the sport works and why Tai isn't riding. Have fun cheering Holder in the world cup because I will be there cheering on team gb and making sure Tai gets the biggest cheer. Sad sad man he is a troll and posts for reactions. Still can't get over the fact that Tai never rode for Poole! -

Dont think Tai sees Holder as a realistic threat to his title. That will come no doubt from Hancock and maybe a couple of others. Holder will be around 6th or 7th -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Of course it could be done but if you dont need to why bother?? He cant just drop Cardiff! All the GP boys have moaned about their diary around Cardiff and rightly so. The British Final is low on the list for a world champion with the other meetings around it, and why people cant see that is beyond me! -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
spot on............but you know that a certain person cannot comprehend that in any way. Being World Champion is the ultimate goal and he is contracted to do Poland. The British Champion is a title but not as big as one as World Champion. Its no longer a qualification stage like it used to be. Therefore how high up the priority list is it for a World Champion?? It isnt and its pretty obvious why not to most people -

your wrong there because any advert for the british final and the sport as a whole is good. My friend who doesnt follow speedway but knows i do remarked that he saw the world champion wasnt riding in the Daily Mirror! without that he wouldnt have even known there was a British Final! You are a very warped person who simply refuses to comprehend anything anyone else tells you. The British Final this year has had more publicity than for as long as i can remember and part of that is down to Tai NOT being there. You think its taken away the glory??? ha ha you are so foolish Im sure if you ask Scott Nicholls if he wins his 8th title , or Chris Harris his 4th, or Craig Cook his 1st after coming second twice, that the wouldnt celebrate or feel that achievement was undermined because Tai wasnt there Your a bit precious arent you to think your right about all of this. A wide open British Final, without the red hot favourite, on a good track, in a great stadium.............means im travelling to see it rather than watch it on Sky and im sure others are the same. Spot on post.............Craig Cook has a family BBQ he isnt going to attend to.................Scott Nicholls has a day trip to Alton Towers planned and the others are all quite upset they would miss Eastenders because of the Bobby Beale storyline but they are putting British Speedway first and doing the British Final........absolute troopers the lot of them Sensible!! Knew you wouldnt understand so please name these 'other commitments' .......or you not going to answer the question like you didnt regarding their pay..........oh no hang on you know their commitments because you had a go at speedway once! Exactly.........dumb and dumber but Robert72 has a friend now -

As i say Mark Loram doesnt pay at Ipswich but then should he also get in free at Poole, Lakeside and Eastbourne for example. Fine line as you say about where to draw the line on who should pay and at what tracks.
