Coventry V Poole El Friday 22nd April 2016
Gavan replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
erm why do I need to apologise? I said Poole were stronger with Lindgren and r/r which they were so what did I say that was wrong? What a great result nothing better than seeing Poole lose especially to an average side. Maybe the elite league won't be so boring after all!!! Good to see Garrity get heat 15 erm why do I need to apologise? I said Poole were stronger with Lindgren and r/r which they were so what did I say that was wrong? Lol at Mr Shovlar and his lack of knowledge. How did Freddie do replacing Holder and how did the r/r do in heat 1?????? Obvious to all that Poole are stronger tonight so either you lacked the intelligence or you trolled -
Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
Gavan replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
how many times you ever been to Ipswich then? I agree ours isn't the best track in the league not by a long shot so yet again I have no idea what your rabbiting on about pal. If you actually had half a brain you would have realised that i wasn't talking about Pooles track but actually saying the elite league in general is boring but being the thick idiot you are I wouldn't have expected you to have understood. So who is likely to win the Elite League then? Poole and maybe Belle Vue. Who is likely to win the Premier? Workington, Glasgow, Sheffield , Edinburgh, Peterborough? Who knows but it will be a hell of a lot more exciting than the elite league -
Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?

It must have been hard for him getting in the gp's if he was an Aussie what with no Crump, no Adams and all those other wonderful Aussie riders i can think of like..............................erm..............................no cant think of anyone. Lets be honest when Tai was to join the GP there was only Holder as Tai was ahead of Ward back then so wouldnt have any issues getting in to the gp as an Aussie. I may be wrong but i think the fact he was born in the UK to British parents made him want to be British. Be all means you dont have to like him but stop banging the nationality drum as its quite boring now -

Ok so answer me this then. Is Lindgren better at Coventry than Holder? YES Is Lindgren in better form than Holder? YES Are all 4 of Kurtzs rides being covered by riders in good form? YES IS one of those a heat leader who won heat 15 last time at Coventry? YES Last time Kurtz beat Sargeant, Garrity, King, Woryna, Bates. You trying to say that Buck, Newman and Ellis cant? Sorry you are simply getting in excuses, everyone can tell Poole are stronger tonight apart from funnily enough you. -

So Poole hit 60 at home. Rather tedious the elite league as I said a few weeks ago. And people still say thrashing teams leads to big healthy crowds because I bet if a few people went tonight for the first or second time they would soon get bored of 5-1 after 5-1. And apparently Holder ride well lol no race wins and not hitting double figures again. The fact Pooles so called number 1 is riding poorly they are still thrashing teams! At home Poole have scored over 55 every meeting with ease it's just not interesting. -

ok fair enough we will differ on the Woffinden issue and I don't mind people having different opinions of put across properly which to be fair Chris4gillian and Lisa tend to but you do come across as trolling at times to provoke a reaction so I apologise for maybe an over reaction from myself. But be warned Starman will never get an apology from myself. I believe Steve you are intelligent and you do post sometimes just for a reaction but the paperboy is on another level -

are you for real?? Don't start a fight with me again??? Sorry are you in charge here then??? I will do and say as I please on here and I will tell you that your a fool if I believe what you are writing is daft. Same as you trolled on here before to get a reaction and you still do it. -

Gavan replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He has annoyed a FEW fans not the majority not by a long chalk yet quite simply you like to have a pop when not knowing the facts. His actions HAVE NOT split support. There will be a few fools like yourself who may feel the need to boo him but the vast majority will be cheering him on as a BRITISH WORLD CHAMPION - BORN TO BRITISH PARENT - WHO HAD NO CHOICE WHERE HE GREW UP - AND WILL OBVIOUSLY HAVE A SOFT SPOT FOR AUSTRALIA! Not sure if i can actually spell that out any clearer. Oh and you also mention that this thread clearly shows the split!!!! Well just for your information when i posted that the people slagging off Tai are pathetic i got 23 LIKES , yes 23 , not 3 or 4 that the posts of the Tai haters get 23 incase you misread what i wrote. That hardly shows a divided thread really. And look at the Tai haters on here, yourself, speedibee, Robert72. Not exactly a line up of people that hold any credibility as a decent poster on here. And yes the odd Poole fan backing you up. Seems there is still that bee in the bonnet of Poole fans that Tai was actually a better, and far more consistent rider than Darcy, and likely to keep adding world crowns. Some Poole fans hated that fact. Sadly the tragedy that happened means we will never know if Darcy would have been as good as Tai -

you really are quite a tiresome loathsome individual. your agenda on every thread leads back to Tai and quite frankly we are all a bit bored of you now pal. If you had half a brain cell you would understand the reasons why Tai isnt riding the British Final yet you choose to ignore or in your case lack the intellect to have any sort of reasonable debate. -

Gavan replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Your entitled to your opinion but im english and my country comes before any club allegiance. I may not have liked Havelock that much but im glad he won the world crown. I dont understand that in a Gp if there was a race between Holder , Ward , Janowski and Harris that an English person would want Harris to come last because the other 3 riders rode for their Poole club. That to me is just strange. By all means cheer for Holder in a race of no Brits but when he is up against Harris you must want the Brit surely?? Would you still cheer for Holder if say he moved to another Elite league club? If the answer is no then you put your club before country and i have no idea why people do it. For my sins im a West Ham fan and do i want Dimitri Payet to score for France if we play him??? No i want him to be sent off if anything! -

Gavan replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
strange attitude to have. You dont have to like someone but its a bit strange you cant support your own country in an international event. I never really liked Havelock but i sure as hell cheered him on when he won his world title or raced for team GB. How anyone can cheer for say Holder or Janowski when they race against Woffinden is beyond me. Not many football fans outside Manchester United like Rooney but when he plays for England we all cheer if he scores. yeah well donr mate resorting to abuse. you know absolutly nothing about the sport or you would know the real reasons why he isnt riding in the British Final instead of just being a lemming. Name me one rider in the last 5 years that has put as much into British Speedway than Woffinden?? Scott Nicholls lol. People who resort to abuse and name calling have lost the argument already. You want an argument pal im here -

Well I guess you know how hollow victorys feel. Eastbourne and Belle Vue away spring easily to my mind -
pathetic that you put a cheap shot in on every post. do us all a favour and stop all the Tai bashing its quite boring and tiresome

He enjoyed his time at number one but did feel more pressure mainly in league racing as he had a target on his back and never really like the Peterborough track as in his own words you didnt need to be skillful to ride it just pop out the start and have fast bikes, where Mark relied on his ability rather than his gating prowess, watch him in his Eastbourne or Lakeside days shows you how much natural talent he had In the GP's he was always on the back foot after a dismal 2 races and out in Berlin on a very tricky wet track where passing was very difficult. After that he went to Cardiff and had that nasty crash before in his final eliminator doing a rodeo down the back straight and even then almost catching Walasek. This was the days of 6 rounds and after that he was well off the pace
-
i remember that well and Mark wasnt excluded, However there was a lot of discussion before the re- run as Tony , quite rightly, wasnt at fault. Mark just sat on his bike shrugging his shoulders not getting involved. There was talk of the exclusion being reversed and if im right both Crump and Adams complained that you couldnt do that as the decision was already made. Crump i believe then won the final. It was possibly that decision along with the one with Stefan Danno (vojens?) that cost Tony the title that year
-
i knew Butler was reserve in 1989 and only got in because of Pedersens injury just couldnt remember what injury
-
I think (and i may be proved wrong) that Troy Butler only got in to the final because Jan O' Pedersen broke his arm or wrist go-karting (i think) and Butler was first reserve. The previous year Butler had won the what was National League riders championship beaten Mark Loram into second. Mark then won it in 1989 and we told him he had to make the world final the next year to emulate Butler lol

Glasgow V Berwick Sunday 17th April
Gavan replied to Pogo1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
you mean by booking a has been in Fisher who simply is good at Berwick and pretty poor everywhere else -
Its still down to ability and yes making the right decisions when in the pack. One of if not the best racer we have ever seen in Mark Loram rarely if ever was involved in accidents or took anyone off by charging through at the wrong time. No one better than Mark in getting their wheels in line. Then you look at Darcy, young and talented but often put himself in the wrong place and had many falls. Sadly we will never get to see if he could have changed

bit of an over reaction The elite league is the highest league yes but it isnt exactly elite riders anymore which is what was trying to be said. Its like the premiership. Say all the world stars left our big clubs, it would still be the top league in english football just not as good as it once was. Nothing wrong with the second tier of speedway, great racing , no politics, and a much closer league with more teams
