As an Ipswich fan i can see the bigger picture and i said at the time that the British Final win shouldnt guarantee Kings place, same as the bad performance from Harris shouldnt discount him, and the gp shouldnt automatically put him back in. I can still see a situation where the 4 riders are Tai, Cook , Harris and Nicholls with Lambert at reserve. Harris is performing consistently in the league and might be coming into form and Nicholls i would always have ahead of King I think Tai and Cook are certaintys and then now its any 2 from 4. Harris, Lambert, Nicholls and King

If you cant see how it favours a club that already has a bucket load of assets and also the club that in all liklihood has the most money, then i believe your head is firmly buried in the sand Any club can sign riders but to sign top quality you need the funds to do it. people do want weekly speedway and the majority wouldnt care if it was elite league or premier league. Didnt Poole refuse to race somewhere once? Didnt Lakeside once move a date? Seem to remember Poole faking injuries and illnesses a couple of seasons ago so that their polish duo didnt have to ride at Eastbourne and then fielded a team of track experts namely Richie Worrall so that they won the meeting. That was ok for them back then but not now?? Stop moaning ride the meeting and well done Lakeside for refusing to move the date. Lakeside are in with a chance of the top 4 so why allow one of their rivals a chance. And you have the audacity to moan about Lakesides track???

Though for some teams they think winning is all that matters When we at Ipswich had the all conquering team i didnt always go i picked and chose as some meetings were so one sided i didnt want to part with my money Did i want us to win the league? Yes Was the racing good? Not really. Any newbies i could have took to the sport would have been utterly bored. Moving on to a couple of seasons ago i took a mate to see Ipswich v Edinburgh and in heat 1 Cook and Barker had their issue and Cook was thrown out. Since that meeting he has come with me nearly everytime i go which is only about 6 times a season. No point Poole being miles in front of everybody and then seeing the sport die because of it

Im probably the most anti Matt Ford poster on this forum but as i said any promoter putting forward any idea is only going to suggest something they can benefit from so i dont blame Ford for putting it out there. As ive said if it comes into play speedway will just fade off and die in this country. Matt Ford only looking short term and not whats good or the future of the sport.

There isnt many better riders than Newman at reserve, Steve Worrall and Auty maybe are the only 2. Lets be fair nobody expected Ellis to be as good as he has been and his form more than Newmans is the reason Poole were doing well. With Ellis not 100% and Newman out it isnt great but Ellis is getting back and as i say you can pick horses for courses to replace Newman and Starke is a good solid option, as he is a rider that is showing great progress this year. You cant compare Newman and Garrity as Garrity is ahead of Newman by a fair way now. Steve Worrall has quite clearly improved past Newman and Auty is also a better rider. Poole have the third best tier 1 rider and the second best tier 2 rider. Poole having the strongest top 5 alongside Belle Vue (but Poole have better reserves) and the second best reserve pairing behind Leicester (whose top 5 are shocking) makes Poole clear favourites for the Elite League hence they are odds on favourites with the bookies

I agree nobody else has come forward Do i think it will work? No Does it benefit Poole more than anyone else? Yes, but im not moaning about that as of course any promoter putting forward any proposal will never put forward one that could affect their own side.

Paul Starke is the guest for this one so that shouldnt weaken Poole. A rider who has improved massively and is up to Kyles level especially around Wimborne Road

Squad system in this country just simply wouldnt work. Clubs would fold as they couldnt afford the superstars thus they wouldnt be competitive. The Elite league would just die. Of course Matt Ford wants this in. He owns a load of assets and the club it would benefit most would be Poole. The rich get richer and the sport dies..............good idea

he rode at the start of the season didn't he?? I can compare and good rider that Newman is, he isn't as good as Worrall and as I say you wont find many who disagree. However yes his season now is curtailed which is a shame as you don't like to see riders injured but if you can get Worrall or Auty or even Starke you wont be missing out
