you for whatever reason have a huge chip on your shoulder. Read my posts i never said he wasnt eligible to ride for Australia. He loves the country he grew up in whats wrong with that? I was born in a place called Osborne Park in Perth in 1976. I was 7 months old when i come home so if i was doing what Tai did then i would ride for Australia as i was born there. However i feel that i am English, i was born to 2 English parents and lived here 39 years. Tai chose to ride for GB as he feels he is English. Of course he will hang around Aussie riders he grew up with them!!! Jason Crump was born here but to Australian parents, he sees himself as Australian. You are just spouting ignorant rubbish. By all means dislike Tai but your daft stance that he is more an Aussie than a Brit is a cheap and ignorant shot

The elite league this season is the worst i have ever seen. 2 or 3 genuine world class riders and then 4 or 5 decent performers. The third heat leaders are made up of riders who 10 years ago would struggle to be Premier league number ones. Are you serious? Lambert isnt even 18 yet?? He lacks ability out the gate and that might hold him back but how you can question that he hasnt pushed on is unreal. What are you expecting him to be Kings Lynns number 1???

100% spot on mate. We might not agree about everything (i.e Newman & Garrity) but at least i know i can have a debate with yourself. because he is the same as i am frustrated by the sheer volume of people who are not intelligent to understand what is going on and simply jump on the Aussie/Not British line that people either to dumb or unable to think for themselves use. No issue with people not liking Tai, I wasnt a fan of Tatum, but to use his nationality as the stick to beat him with shows a lack of intelligence. Again i tell people look at the dates of the semis and the final!! Anyone with half a brain can understand why he isnt riding

Kings Lynn Stars V Belle Vue Aces 31/3

And there in lies the problem with the elite league this season You drove up because a 'strong' Belle Vue side are. I have no doubt you will travel when a 'strong' Poole side are in town as well. And yourself like many other fans will not travel if Lakeside, Leicester and Wolves are in town. Crowds at the majority of clubs will fall this season. Even if you are a Poole and Belle Vue fan will you go to watch your team thrash others? I know when Ipswich won everything in 1998 i couldnt be bothered with some matches as the result and scoreline was a foregone conclusion. The farce of the points limit will not help the sport this season -

Nah im good thanks. Got moaned at because i put it on a Poole thread when Poole thrashed someone, so im just being consistent and showing its not a Poole thing but thanks for your concern the sport will lose lots of fans this season as teams in the elite league are so poor compared to the top 2. Fans will not be bothered to pay the prices at any club not just Lynn. -
So you are suggesting that Tai chose GB because he was worried he wouldnt get in the gp's. Stop talking claptrap. He would back himself to do anything he is that confident. Who was the Aussie squad when Tai made his decision then? Crump, Adams, Sullivan? 3 riders who would have been retiring not long after Tai came through then basically a young Holder. Your quite correct saying Tai could have choose GB or Australia but to say he chose GB to get an easier route in is absolute rubbish

i take it that you are just goading as usual. Anyone with half a brain knows the elite league is a 2 horse race and will be the most boring league ever. I'm off to Foxhall Saturday night to see a decent meeting thanks not the elite league borefest -
how did your rider Chris Holder get on in the Aussie champs this year??

strange post. The British final doesn't mean anything much anymore because of 2 reasons. Firstly it is no longer a stepping stone along the world championship stage. Riders who have had a poor 2 or 3 rides now know they can't win it or even be a wildcard. In the old days 6 points may have got you through to the Commenwealth Final so it was cut and thrust. Also the depth of talent means it isn't a showpiece anymore. Who outside of Tai Cook Nicholls and Harris could win it?. I went to my first final in 1990. Tatum Cross Doncaster Havelock Wigg Dugard Loram Louis Thorp Silver Screen, the list of quality went on and on. To get to the final was an honour we had quarter finals back then such was the number of riders. Now we have the field made up of premier league riders. Tai is the first rider of any note I can remember pulling out since Mark Loram so your claim the riders are devaluing it is rubbish. You also state that Tai was always going to win it. Really???? 5 races yes maybe but when its a sudden death final the other 3 top boys could all beat him or did you not see the first attempt of the final last year??

What a bunch of pig ignorant head in the sand people there are on this forum. Tai is British, he was born here his parents are British. They chose to emigrate and obviously at that age Tai had to go with them hardly his fault where he grew up. You fools on here somehow expect him to have no affinity with Australia!! Of course he will love the place he made many friends there. He chose to ride for the UK his parents are British and he considers himself British like his parents are. If you don't like Tai as a person that's fine we don't like everyone, I was never a big Tatum fan, but to simply keep going on and on about he usnt even British is just being a lemming and joining up with the idiots. Once again I ask people have you seen the dates of the semis and final??????? Understandably he doesn't want to be injured. He is a Brit through and through who also loves the country he grew up in what is wrong with that!!!!! As we all say Mark Loram was born in Malta. Didn't see to many people moaning that he rode for Team GB!!! By the pathetic responses on here Mark should have ride for his country of birth then shouldn't he!!!! Those who also say Tai chose GB because he couldn't get in the Aussie team are also talking tosh. Tai as a character backs himself to be the best at anything so he would have fought tooth and nail anyway. Some sad people on here that I would suggest should stay away from Cardiff
-
Some people on here need to look at the bigger picture! All I'm reading is he isn't even British which is just an absurd an easy way to bash him. How often did Holder and Ward do the Aussie champs? Where was Holder this season? The Aussie champs aren't eveb in GP time so no excuses for him not to ride. Nicki Pedersen misses the Danish Champs nothing is said. Greg Hancock doesn't do the Us Champs. Sorry but there are some pathetic bunch of losers on here just looking for the bad in Tai and time after time being up his nationality which just shoes how incredibly thick some of you are. Not one of you people having a go have even bothered to mention the dates of the semis or the final itself! Have you seen the dates or is it easier just to join in with the in crowd and have a whinge. One of you are trotting out 'it's just one more meeting in his schedule, yes it is, smack bang before a GP. Some of you who call yourselves speedway fans are a joke. And do you honestly think more people go because he would have rode??? I doubt it. We followed Mark Loram everywhere but we still went to the British Final when he missed out in 1993.
-
You are really a very sad and quite pathetic individual. Mark Loram turned down the British Final one year was that ok with you? You ok with Scott Nicholls and the late Lee Richardson not wanting to ride for their country? Or was that ok because they didnt grow up in Australia? Look at the bigger picture. British Semi Final 1 is the day before a GP and British Semi Final 2 is just after. The British Final is also just before a GP Tai would no doubt be looking to have recieved a wildcard to the final and then with an important GP around the corner maybe still wouldnt have risked it. He has been champion 3 times. The bigger goal is the World crown. Wouldnt it be nice if our only chance of a world champion was injured in the British Semi or Final itself and therefore couldnt then compete!! He is giving himself the best opportunity to be World Champion and the idiots on here like yourself start trotting out the same old crap that he is an Aussie.!! The guy has done nothing but promote British Speedway and has put plans in place and hit out at the way the sport is run in this country to try and change it for the better. Do yourself a favour pal and stop spouting the crap. If Tai gets booed at Cardiff it will be one of the most disgraceful things i will have ever seen in the sport. Will Scott Nicholls get booed when he pulls the Team GB suit on??? You fools saying he should ride would obviously love to see him pole-axed by say an over enthusiastic Garrity and miss 3or 4 GP'S The British Final once was a stepping stone to the World Crown. It isnt now and to run it when they have puts Tai's participation in doubt and i want him to be World Champion rather than British Champion. Maybe the time has come for the final to be early March or a 1 off event at the end of the season and choose a different way to choose the wildcard at Cardiff. You can bet if the British Final was late September Tai would ride spot on mate. absolute clowns on her slagging him off, not understanding why he has done it and trotting out the usual ' he is an Aussie' garbage

Mark Loram was born in Malta so what's your point?? You hate Tai anyway so anything you say on this thread will pretty much be ignored anyway. The rest of us believe its a poor decision but will still support him in the World Cup. This is the one rider who has done more for British Speedway in the last 3-4 years than anyone else

The facts are straight forward. Newman has ridden in the reserve berth of an elite league side for 6 years. The reasons are either lack of progress, lack of ambition or he is happy just beating inferior riders week after week. He may be a good second string but that's not saying a lot really. Premier league number ones are third heat leaders like Cook was and King is and Newman is and won't be anywhere near their level. Sure he could improve but he seems happy being a big fish down at reserve -
Swindon V Poole Ela 27th March 2016.
Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Which is also something Ellis can be prone to. Often overlocked when he rode for us and came off a few times, but may have ironed that out. Roynon would if available be very good cover, but as i say Poole could score 3 duckeggs from the number 7 berth and still beat Swindon away so its not really an issue who replaces Ellis -

I agree well done to Newman for getting rides in Poland and as I have already said out of the 2 Garrity is far more reckless. But there is no way in the world that Newman is ahead of Garrity at the moment. All this stuff about Garrity has messed up Coventrys team isn't totally correct. Coventry didnt have to use him did they! They saw his ambition and went with it. Think that You Tube clip shows Newman at reserve in 2011 alongside Nick Morris. Wonder how their careers have gone? Reserve for 6 seasons and now riding against riders he is far superior to isn't doing him any good. -

I don't think Garrity will ride for GB either but at that level he is way ahead of Newman for selection. Higher Elite league average, Higher Premier league average. British Final record far superior and possibly should have made a rostrum. Was reserve and had a ride in a GP. Now Garrity wants to make the next step up and race in a 1-5 and put himself against better riders. Newman currently is racing against EDR riders that he is superior to. No GB manager would select a rider who is happy to beat the likes of Sargeant and Bates , basically premier league second strings, over a rider who wants to better himself. What sort of experience is Newman gaining? None! Kyle is the more stylish of the 2 but he is not even close to ever being taken seriously as a rider for the national side. He will though riding in the Poole team win another title but its not doing much for his own career -
Swindon V Poole Ela 27th March 2016.
Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
still saying the same old lines from years ago I see! Poole can replace Ellis with a better rider in Adam Roynon so hardly weakened. Even if they had someone who scored zero from three rides they will still beat Swindon as well you know -
not a bad comparison as Janniro had a good career but just short of top class. You would compare Newman to a Ryan Fisher. Elite league reserve who will never be any better than a premier league number 1
-
The squad is usually 10 riders which should be Tai, Harris, Cook, Nicholls, Lambert, King , Stead, Kennett, Garrity and Auty. After the first 5 we are really struggling. King ,Stead and Kennett are not good enough at international level but they are the next best. Garrity shows ambition and is a better rider than Newman or Howarth. Auty is a premier league number 1 and is also better than Newman
-
Nice to see Havvy on Twitter talking about Newman. Spot on when he says it's a lack of ambition and the fact the EDR was designed to bring riders through rather than exploit loopholes to keep him at reserve. And as I say Poole have done nothing wrong just as Havvy says lack of ambition from the rider. Garrity will be in the GB squad and Newman has no chance

I didn't post on the Lakeside thread because Lakeside will not win and thrash people in most of their matches like Poole will is it that hard to understand? And no i didn't enjoy the Ipswich v Scunny match because the track was awful with no dirt. Don't have an issue losing I like to see good racing -

is it rude to say the elite league looks boring? Go back over my posts. Ive only called the one person a pillock and that is what everyone on here thinks of him. Oh and I will call him what I want as he told me to go out and play with the traffic so if he can dish it out but cant take it im not bothered
