Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th April
Gavan replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Anyone seen the article by Kasprzak? Right decision to call the meeting off because off the green light!! Never mentions the track. Please people stop banging on about a poor track because quite clearly it wasnt one million percent correct! -

dear oh dear oh dear what an incredibly stupid response. Let's get one thing clear. Starman is a clown and not very bright his opinions mean nothing. You Sidney do have some knowledge and I expect better of you. The track was fine. Read the whole thread and you will find most agree with that. Let's see what the riders do at Cardiff if it gets bumpy! -

yeah ive read it so whats your point fool? A rider clearly injured with a bad wrist cant turn the bike properly on a track that isnt totally smooth, bails out twice and runs into another!! Yes his opinion counts for sod all about the track, bit like most of yours mate. -

try reading my post properly not just choose things and twist things. the track (as said by many on here) was NOT a disgrace which was my point the evening descended into a disgrace due to the riders not wanting to race. Yes the starting tapes went wrong but i think the green light worked well made it a level playing field. Feel free to comment on my posts but dont mix what im saying Its not an opinion its fact -

Talking out of your backside. Track wasnt a disgrace. Diificult but not a disgrace. Riders were passing each other the racing wasnt that bad. Did you see Harris. Ive seen far far worse tracks at Cardiff. If the tapes were not broken im in no doubt the meeting would have carried on. If you thought the racing was garbage i think you must have watched a different meeting to everyone else. If you was a first time watcher you would think the start gate was farcical and then wonder why the hell the riders didnt want to ride. -

I have seen worse ruts, more riders lifting, and more crashes in the Cardiff gp's. Yes im sitting in my armchair but that track did not look anymore dangerous than Cardiff usually gets. This was backed up by 2 fallers due to the track, an unfit Batchelor and a tentative Holder. I await to see how Cardiff cuts up this year! -
Really how bad a bunch of losers are the Edinburgh fans such sore losers. 4 man team pathetic excuse. How many Glasgow riders hit double figures? All well and good having a classy number 1 like Masters but you need the rest to step up. Maybe they were under pressure and couldn't handle it. As for that Blobby fellow saying Sargeant rolls worse than Cook is laughable. Who got excluded in heat 1 for trying to cheat again? Can't wait till you come to Foxhall and watch our number one King and your number one Masters having some great races
-
Oh and I know he got a Max away from home but as I say against the top teams he isn't doing it. Can't wait for Danny to show him the quickest way around Foxhall so it was poor from Edinburgh not good from Glasgow? There number 1 didn't exactly score well either and a 5-1 in the last flattered the scoreline for you. I'm sure in the league you will get beat by more as Lawson won't be as poor. Shame that you still can't say well done

i have no idea what you are wittering on about you fool. I've said the track was not to dangerous that the meeting had to be abandoned which is a view held by many on here. You really are a prat -
Get in there Glasgow nothing better than seeing the smugs get beat fair and square by the better team. Where have they gone can't read their comments! And they aren't worried bout Cook's form? The lad has gone as far in the sport as he can and Masters is the better rider this season. Well done Glasgow. As for the Monarchs the rest of the premier league are loving it!

Sorry but the track was raceable and rideable, did you not watch it properly and see Harris? The only riders who fell was an unfit Batchelor and a struggling Holder. The track was difficult but not unsafe. Seem to remember a track at Belle Vue not so long ago that was waterlogged yet the meeting continued when it was far far more dangerous than last night. Poole werent worried about that track i seem to recall. The riders (not all of them) bottled it. The starting gate looked farcical. The track wasnt great. But the biggest farce was the huge delay while the riders had a meeting and got the meeting called off didnt see any riders congratulating each other they were hugging and congratulating Gollob. so unlike you get something wrong I dont think a Poole fan can give any credibility on track safety as they need to get their own house in order first. Quite happy to race in a monsoon at Belle Vue where riders couldnt see, yet think last night was dangerous! -

I have seen meetings completed on far far worse tracks then that. This sort of thing never would have happened 10 or even 5 years ago they would have got on with it. And shall we look at the fallers last night. Heat One: Batchelor knocks off Nicki Pedersen so nothing to do with the track Heat Eight: Batchelor falls off trying to overtake. Nothing to do with the track just got the pas wrong Heat Ten: Holder comes off. Hit a rut. Heat Twelve: Batchelor (again) comes off. Hit a rut. So 4 falls and the same unfit rider who had a bad wrist so would have struggled on a bumpy track, is involved in 3 of them by not having the strength to hold on. The track was to blame for 2 falls. So yes as much as i admire all the riders for riding for our entertainment, they were prima donnas for not carrying on -

The track had a few ruts, no more and no less than places like Cardiff, yet we all bang on how Cardiff is the 'jewel in the gp crown' when in reality the track isnt good. This track wasnt good yet some were prepared to give it a go Harris, Zagar, MJJ for example. I fully understand Holder being apprehensive as he had a bad crash last year, but then again he cant expect every track he rides to be as smoth as a billiard table. Pedersen had a knee brace on so he may have found it hard but thats just tough luck. Sorry but yes the track wasnt great but the prima donnas who were struggling (Hancock , Pedersen and Holder ) were moaning and the organisers bowed down to it. The fact is the track wasnt good and i agree with gp's not being on temporary tracks. The start gate was only an issue because at this level you would expect a back up plan. However the green light starts did stop the usual suspects rolling so again perhaps they didnt like that. People who were new to speedway probably enjoyed the fact the track was difficult, to then find out the riders didnt want to ride. Sorry but the riders who didnt want to ride have a lot to answer for. -

Gavan replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I disagree. If the track was different all the home riders will have their bike set up as the track would normally be. If it was different then they may have the set up all wrong, where as someone like Covatti would not really have known how to do his bike and it worked for him. The track changing each week has to be an inconvenience for any home team -

the track wasn't great but that isn't the issue. We know these tracks cut up but the riders behaved like pansies. Get out there and wind the throttle on. Granted the green light situation was a leveller off the starts and gave the riders more cause to moan. Seems like the 'old guard' spat their dummy's out and the weak race directors listened. What's going to happen if Cardiff cuts up like it often does? Dangerous precedent been set tonight I feel. Now if we get rutty or let's say wet tracks the riders will be wanting it called off. Don't blame the track blame the riders and the officials -
Speedway World Cup Team Gb Squad
Gavan replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Contender for the squad maybe. Dont get people asking for Newman He beats most reserves in the elite league, occasionally beats the od second string and is miles away from being a pemier league number 1. Good little rider yes, but nowhere near good enough. If you think Newman could be there then Blackbird, Garrity, Auty, have to be mentioned. And all of those are below the likes of Stead, Cook, King , Barker, and Kennett I get blooding the youngsters is the right way but the likes of Lambert and Howarth are well clear of Newman -

Cant see anyone getting near Edinburghs best rider Masters. His form is sensational this season -
Speedway World Cup Team Gb Squad
Gavan replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Wow really How can you leave out a 23 year old ex world champ and number 4 in the world? He is the future lol Riders like Stead, Cook , King and Kennett are the riders who have been there not done it. If anyone seriously thinks leaving out Woffinden is a good idea i think they need their heads tested. There is no way Kyle Newman as good a rider as he is should be in a World Cup squad. Lawson Lambert and Howarth are all ahead of Newman. If you think Newman should be in then what about Garrity, Blackbird , Auty, Steve Worrall? All as good if not better than Newman And i wouldnt have any of them near a Team GB squad personally -
After the first month of the season is over with what are peoples thoughts on who should be in the World Cup Squad? Do we run with the tried and tested or throw youngsters in? This would be my squad of 7 WOFFINDEN HARRIS NICHOLLS LAMBERT LAWSON HOWARTH KING If Scott cant be persuaded to ride then i would call up Stead. Just please no Kennett!!

Is Daniel King To Good To Be In This League?
Gavan replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
i don't think King will qualify for a gp series either but your argument is flawed. He wasn't a million miles away on the gp challenge final at Poole and as pointed out to you King was a better rider than Smolinski was at the time he qualified so there is no reason to dismiss him out of hand -
Is Daniel King To Good To Be In This League?
Gavan replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Dont get the issue. Riders like King, Cook and Stead are never going to be World Champion or make the gp's so what is wrong with riding to earn money? King and Stead both tried abroad and failed and Cook at last is having a go. These riders are draw cards. I now due to work and family go to Foxhall about 8 times a year. I will certainly be going when Cook is there and Stead as well
