Belle Vue Aces vs Oxford Spires 14th April 2025
Gavan replied to Garry1603's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Belle Vue is the track with the most home track advantage in the league …. Riders set their bikes up to go quick and that’s it doesn’t take much skill to be able to do that Kurtz and Bewley are top riders wherever they ride but because of their home track advantage they are almost unbeatable at home Lidsey can only ride well at home and same with Blodorn….. no other team in the league would take a chance on either of those because they can’t ride anywhere else really … you bang on about Lidsey but he isn’t fit to lace Tom Brennan’s boots when you look at the overall package… give me a rider who can score anywhere rather than just be good at home You do have a good track but it doesn’t need much skill to ride it and I prefer skillful riders rather than throttle jockeys Go watch Mark Loram v the Karlsson brothers on you tube and tell me that that isn’t class skilful speedway -

Yes we have really stole talent developed elsewhere like Danny King and Adam Ellis and have had no part to play in Dan T developing …. Can’t seem to remember any Ipswich fans bleating about injuries any seasons apart from the last one where to any knowledgeable speedway fan Ipswich would have been champions but that’s speedway you get unlucky at times -

These big wins by Belle Vue are not doing the sport any favours at all… I’m sure with more easy victories the fans will not go to watch and crowds will dwindle They didn’t even need their number one rider … they are not helping the league Belle Vue speedway is dying with results like this but when you can go out and spend money getting Kurtz Lidsey and Cook in over the years it’s just chequebook speedway -
Ipswich v Oxford Thursday 10th April

You are an absolute plank Ipswich wanted to sign a number one to replace Doyle and couldn’t find one … Dudek was close but stopped and I doubt he would have been like Doyle more like Janowski. Lets see how Sheffield replace Tai… they probably can’t and would have to make 2 changes or run with guests like Ipswich did Oh and I know how thick you are but Ipswich have built the team over a number of years King 2015… Doyle 2022…. Emil 2023 Ellis 2024….. Dan T 2024….Jenkins 2024 and Brennan 2025 Ellis was sacked by Sheffield and Dan by Leicester and we picked them up anyone could have done the same …. Imagine Dan T at 6 rather that Zischke … imagine Ellis at 4 not Zach Cook If no managers have the foresight to sign riders then that’s their fault Our management have built this team gradually and maybe we might get the rewards You come across as either a child a troll or someone with no speedway knowledge -

They were both at it on the start line and Wright was leading the race and Ellis passed him around the outside clean as a whistle The elbows didn’t put Wright off he led the race…… if Ellis made the gate then maybe a reason to whinge Fact is Ellis passed him and he spat his dummy he has a reputation for doing that I bet if Wright won the race he wouldn’t have lost the plot -

Oh it will Thing is Ipswich have had some mediocre years at the top level with average riders like Miskowiak and Swiderski as heat leaders and dropping down a league and still not winning anything …. But even through the bad times the crowd was healthy .. yes frustrations were vented but the crowds were always very good … Ipswich is a well supported club win or lose and however good the racing is …. The fact that we now have a very good side … one which fans of other clubs have trouble with basic maths … means that the crowds will always be big -

I thought it was brilliant how gate and go it was when Emil went between Bewley and Kurtz in heat 15 -

I’ve seen some crazy ridiculous comments on this forum over the years but this one goes straight to the top Congratulations on winning prize prat of the week award -
Ipswich v Belle Vue 27th March KOC 2nd leg
Gavan replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good to see Danny King proving the fans who abused him last season to be idiots Riding at number two and not the pressure of last season when the morons expected him to carry the team means he only needs 6 a meeting to do his job The team looks awesome it has to be said For Belle Vue Kurtz was woeful wasn’t interested…. Lidsey and Zach Cook and Blodorn were miles off it Bewley was strange as the one heat he gated was exceptional and super quick then looked lost of ideas when behind The reserves were ok they tried to mix it and Zischke looks a good little rider and improved as the night went on -
As an Ipswich fan Dan has been a revelation…. As he admits himself if you can’t learn from Doyle and Emil who can you learn from Also the family are so nice … Dans dad regularly runs kids around on the bike after the meeting and Dan always chats …. A credit to the sport that family
-
If nobody gets injuries Ipswich will walk it Their 2 biggest rivals last year Sheffield and Belle Vue are weaker where as Brennan for Rew makes Ipswich stronger I can even see Ipswich’s biggest challenge coming from Kings Lynn
-
You have some sort of strange beef with Ipswich chequebook speedway lol…. Yes Doyle and Emil aren’t cheap but neither is Bewley and Kurtz and also would say the Sheffield top 3 aren’t either If we was chequebook speedway we would have paid Rew what he wanted and let Danny go….. fact is we wouldn’t pay it Are you bitter over Brennan? Take a chill pill my friend

International Test Matches
Gavan replied to Bavarian's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
An England V Australia match mid season would be so one sided and not a spectacle Doyle Kurtz Holder Fricke Holder Masters Pickering Douglas Tungate Bewley Woffinden Ellis King Lawson Brennan Harris -
Love affair lol Better rider than Ellis and Rew (currently) Last season as heat leader you would minimum expect 4 second places …. Now he has 2 heat leaders in 3 of his races …. His scoring will go down because of that as I showed ….. thing is some fans will say he should score more at 2 than at 3….. it won’t or shouldn’t happen
-
Just hoping the fans get behind Danny as I feel it will be tough for him riding at 2 but the expectations should be lower For example Home To Belle Vue Heat 1…. Doyle Kurtz King Cook Heat 6… Doyle Bewley King Zischke Heat 8… King Cook Jenkins Mulford Heat 10 Doyle Lidsey King Blodorn Thats 6 points for Danny and doing his job… yes he could beat Lidsey but he could be beaten by Cook or Blodorn I hope true fans realise that he will have tough races at 2 and 6 or 7 points is fine not the 10 or 11 people expect

Poole have lost Cook Brennan Foord and Hagon … replaced by Rowe Kerr Starke and a 2 pointer Yes they had to lose points but that’s a big downgrade of rider

SGB Championship - 2025 Predictions
Gavan replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Redcar have the strongest top 3 in the league followed by Glasgow and then Poole Redcar though don’t have a heatleader who is going to improve …. Glasgow have Thompson and Poole possibly have Zach Cook Redcar and Glasgow have strengthened and Poole haven’t and are weaker only because they lost 2 top riders Therefore I’m going Glasgow and Redcar final -
But not as strong as Harris Howarth and Thompson
-
Poole don’t often get team building wrong They had to lose points but to replace Cook and Brennan with Rowe and Kerr is a huge drop off To then build a point under the limit would be incredible mismanagement surely Maybe they let Foord go because of the baggage he brings?? And it seems a lot of people are glossing over Cairns and what he might do …. No guarantee he will smash in big scores but will be better than most 2 pointers … but he might not set the world on fire immediately Im sure Poole will get it right they often do but at the moment things don’t look good
-
Well losing Brennan and Cook for Kerr and Rowe makes the pirates look much weaker than last season ….. I know points had to be lost but that is a lot weaker…. Although wild getting rid of a decent points scorer in Foord could hurt them Can see changes at Poole through the season
-
Ipswich Belle Vue Oxford Sheffield Birmingham Leicester Kings Lynn
-
Whatever Poole do the side will be much weaker Losing Cook and Brennan who if riding on championship this coming season would possibly be the highest averages in the league and replacing them with Rowe and Kerr is a much much weaker option although I like Rowe as a rider Big season for Zach Cook who hasn’t really progressed that much No idea why Foord was let go … yes he is reckless and at times dangerous but he scored well and can only surely get better . Poole promotion usually get it right but this is as tough a team to build this season
-
Seems a crazy decision to let Foord go on that average … Poole fans see him as the next big thing so why let him go? There is definite ‘baggage’ with Foord maybe that was the reason
