  1. I might be jumping the gun but Birmingham could make the play offs and be dangerous if Lindgren does well
  2. You won the meeting fair and square no arguments from any Witches fans …. But to say that King and Ellis wouldn’t have done better than Batch and Klindt is farcical You won and it’s good to see you competitive
  3. Well done Brummies But no panic from Ipswich … we got nowhere near what we would have got from Ellis King and Doyle missing If you going to get injuries get them when you top of the league lol
  4. Sheffield might have to use 14 riders again to try and win the league
  5. Get in there you witches … how sweet that is after the vile nature of the Sheffield fans at the play off final nice to get payback and that’s without our top 2 hitting double figures !! Thought Stead was going to cry in that interview Witches fans back on broomsticks tonight Woofy lol
  6. Sheffield a 3 man team at home and a bit of back up from Pickering .. Howarth and the reserves woeful Hopefully we can keep this close and go back to Foxhall maybe 6 or 8 down as this Sheffield side will get beat by far more at our place
  7. Agreed Teams number 4 passes rising star at home … wow Similar if Ellis for us was to pass Sam Hagon or Bailey …. He shouldn’t beating them at home
  8. Can’t agree with what you say about riders coping with it …. Iversen, Doyle , Ellis and MPT all led their races and much much easier from the front … Nicholls just rode safely behind Ellis …… Emil had no answer to MPT due to the track not ability as the track almost threw him off on bend one and as he said afterwards to us he couldn’t see anything The riders you mention are all experienced absolutely but they did all lead…. For example if Dan had of led I’m sure he would have been fine
  9. Yes but the times would had got much worse and racing appalling I thought maybe they would have stopped after heat 8 but the desire to get to 10 heats is always there Im an Ipswich fan but Klindt did get filled in … and yes he was poor even before the track got worse
  10. And all this talk about the start time is hilarious Ive been going speedway for 40 years …. started at Hackney … make it a date Friday at 8…. Guess what …. The parade and intros started at 8.. racing about 8.15 Rye House I used to go to was 4 on a Sunday …. Guess what parade at 4 and meeting about 4.15 Start time does not mean tapes up to me … it means the start of the evenings entertainment People moan that speedway doesn’t put on a show well those 15 minutes of parade and intros is about creating an atmosphere. Its all well and good to say scrap that and start but then a lot of people miss the beginning If your cinema ticket says 8pm does the film start at 8pm? Some people get to the cinema about 10 minutes after the advertised time … imagine if they walked in and missed the first 10 minutes of the film! Surely all speedway fans know start time doesn’t mean tapes up
  11. Yes nothing wrong with the track at all…. The race times went up by 4 seconds The riders you mentioned Iversen Doyle and MPT all led their races … much easier in front but still up to 4 seconds slower than previous races … Nicholls sat behind his team mate….. and I’m assuming that you didn’t see Emil miraculously stay on when the track stopped him turning the bike and then he had absolutely no chance of getting by Toft as he couldn’t see just rode the inside ….. Dan Thompson struggled when the rain came and being filled in and Klindt got filled in and was removing tear offs on the back straight of the first lap I don’t think experience had anything to do with it more about who led And did you hear Scott say about the track and how difficult the bikes are to handle now then they were 25 years ago?
  12. Yes… we was even taking about Emil Dan and Doyle sitting by the gate waiting and questioning why they weren’t allowed on The Lynn riders were not there The 2 minutes was always on when some riders from previous race not back to pits Emil and Dan went round the stock car track after a 5-1 in heat 6 as Doyle and Rew came on the track
  13. A few very light spots of rain nothing that would have stopped the meeting as shown by heats 6 and 7 times The problem was after heat 6 it was very hard … I sit on 2nd bend and the 4 of us and many others went under shelter of the food outlets on the second bend When riders fall on a wet muddy track it takes a bit longer for the other riders to get back up to tapes as they clean the bike a bit and themselves…. so playing devils advocate if when Wojdylo fell they ‘got on with it’ we might have seen 1 more heat at best….. and by this point the track was gone so another heat would have been awful viewing Those who are saying they should have got on with it means we may have had 13 heats not 10 But heats 8,9 and 10 wasn’t exactly speedway I wouldn’t have wanted to see heats 11,12 and 13 with riders two wheeling either Hugely frustrating day and wasted money but hard to avoid unless with hindsight you didn’t go
  14. Absolutely 100% spot on Heat 8 Thompson and Jenkins couldn’t see and baulked each other from sliding all over the place … Jenkins holding his hand up to apologise and then pulling up Heat 9 Wojdylo slides into the fence… another delay …. In the re run Klindt filled in on first corner … can’t see and poodles around miles behind…… Nicholls lets himself drop miles back so he could see and not inadvertently hinder Ellis Heat 10 How Emil stayed on was unreal So yes I agree it could have been called off after heat 8 very easily
  15. Not from Suffolk but have friends there and the weather apps and times of rain was changing all day so at 12.30 when I was told Ipswich was dry with light showers I made the decision to go I’m not prepared sacrifice racing I live an hour away …. Twice this season I’ve got to the track and it’s been called off … the Oxford match also didn’t make 15 heats and if you ask me that one was drawn out and I was more frustrated with that meeting than today Frustrated about today absolutely…. Could we have seen more heats ??? Not really unless the falls or tapes didn’t happen Could they have cancelled earlier? No as it wasn’t raining and only LIGHT showers were forecast and if they had of postponed at say 12 people would have been up in arms
  16. Can not agree that they could have got more heats in… the 2 falls and start gate malfunction did lose time so yes maybe another heat or two if they didn’t happen After each race the two minutes were on and riders waiting at the entrance to the track Maybe if they had no grading after heat 4 I think it was, but then every track gets graded at that point Heat 6 Emil does 57.0 and then the heavens opened and Doyle does 60.7 in heat 7……that’s how quickly rain can affect a track They did extensively grade after heat 7 but they had to I don’t feel much more could have been done re the pace of the meeting
  17. Again was you there? There was expected light rain not the amount there was in a short space of time Parade at 2.15 for a 2.30 start the club isn’t allowed to start before 2.30 council rules…. All Ipswich fans know that the first race is 15 minutes after the parade What you are saying is start at 2.15 … let regulars miss the first 4-5 heats ….what then happens if the forecast light rain didn’t stop the meeting? Many disgruntled fans I would suggest Stop living in an idyllic world
  18. Quite clearly you wasn’t at the meeting The meeting didn’t amble on there was 2 falls into the air fence from Wojdylo and also a start gate malfunction in heat 6 It wasn’t raining from the start it started getting harder after heat 6 …. Heats 5 and 6 were the quickest times of the meeting hardly an issue with the track at that point It takes me an hour to get to Foxhall and twice this season I’ve practically got there as they have called it off which was far more frustrating than today The rain got much harder very quickly They never said there was to be an interval …. Only mentioned that they would take one after heat 10 to work on the track If you was there you would have heard Nicholls on the mike explaining how hard ALL riders were finding it AND the reasons …Who wants to see top riders two wheeling around bends So yes I was frustrated today but there was nothing that could have been done so I don’t see why you need to make stuff up
  19. I doubt very much that Doyle, Jack Holder and Woffinden would want to take a risk on a wet track with the first GP this weekend
  20. No Doyle tonight now … impossible for the witches I think
  21. This is definitely a banana skin for us Magic is class Wright goes well at Ipswich Tungate Harris Nicholls and Riss all know Ipswich well For me much hinges on Jenkins getting 4 or 5 and King and Ellis scoring about 13 or 14 between them
  22. Not at all the first line of my post was that I thought we would win by more We had Emil getting 4 and crashing whilst in scoring positions and missing out on heat 15 where Ellis got 0. Add 5 onto Emils score and it would have been what I expected …. And yes speedway is all about its and buts but to me Sheffield riders didn’t leave any points behind on the track where as Ipswich did One thing is for certain that the Holder brothers are usually poor at Foxhall so I’m more worried about other teams at our place namely Leicester who have riders that go well at Foxhall
  23. Thought we may have won this by more but fair play to the Brummies This season we have two second strings that can score 11-15 between them and 2 reserves who can get 8-10 between them Even the lower end of that means the 3 heat leaders need to get 27 between them which will happen most weeks … even with Emil and Danny struggling last night the heat leaders got 23…. I think we will be very tough to beat this season but we will see
  24. Sheffield fans on social media hailing the comeback should look at why they needed to make that comeback and getting a draw at the possibly weakest side isn’t exactly a good result Holder snr has been poor either winning or last and 9 points from 8 rides is a shocking return for a third heat leader. Couple this with the fact the reserves are one of the weakest and Jack isn’t flying yet means it’s been a poor start for Sheffield But well done Birmingham a backs against the wall jobs and a good result
