  1. No way to small for false averages but extra incentive for the youngsters. Riders like Liam Carr and Dan Bewley to make the step up.
  2. Think this is really going to be the way to go tbh. Assessed or low averages, so bearing in mind a watered down'premiership' who either from abroad or Britain would be good enough?
  3. Woffinden won't be able to ride for us with his GP meetings as it's practice on the Friday isn't it? Or is that just Cardiff, Howarth is a great shout if we can prize him from Wolves. Bewley would be an amazing rider but rides Friday for Edinburgh if he goes anywhere it will be Belle Vue after riding with the Colts. Morris is a good shout but is a Swindon asset and they will surely want him as second heat leader.
  4. No I wasn't as I was back in Brum getting ready for the second city derby, what happened? I'm only saying Batchelor as i think that is a low average for a rider who could clean up in a watered down top league.
  5. Seems like Holder is on his way to Poole but what about Batchelor on 7.36? Bargain in a watered down league and still fits within my original team.
  6. Wilson Dean is ours we signed him last season. I don't think Josh will be at Somerset or Swindon with the new averages. In terms of Holder I just feel Poole will go down a different route. Chris and Brady (who atm is a 9.22/01) will take the majority of the averages. Tbh i'm coming round to these new averages in a way it is going to help young British riders and cut costs. Every team will have one top rider but then have to play smart for the rest
  7. Signed and sealed according to his Twitter, gutted as I wanted him back at Somerset
  8. Can't really be helped though, it's premier league averages or 1.4 on top of an Elite average. Look at Swindon, seems likely that Doyle will be number 1, thats 13 points gone already from a 50 point limit. So Tungate and Holder will just be racing similar riders to themselves.
  9. Blimey that's not much better than our PL team from this year! I guess that proves the watering down of the top league Not sure on Jack Holder, he is yet to convince me - I would think he is a shoe in at Poole anyway. I wouldn't take Brady back either he is too inconsistent on small tracks and needs a year riding one - he should sign for Rye it would improve him no end. I would ty and get Josh in the team somehow and he can double up on a small track in the PL if poss - he was my rider of the year and has been very good all season. Not sure on Starkey - great club man but stood still this year - prob deserves a chance though True but as you said the top league has been considerably watered down. I like Josh but we still need an Elite League heat leader otherwise we will get smashed every week. Tbh it has been hard for Holder this year in a Plymouth team that has not had any fight in them, I have a feeling he will be here as I think Poole will keep faith with Kurtz and Ellis as well as Chris Holder. Lastly the thing with Starke is he just can't ride with Wrighty they like the same bit of track and are very much the same rider. Plus as many of this years team deserve to come back.
  10. I'm sure Poole let us keep Kurtz on our asset base as you have to have so many assets to ensure you don't get a fine. Can someone confirm this but I'm sure I heard this last season, fair enough if i'm wrong.
  11. Well after a lot of thought about the team here goes: Keep majority of riders from last season but lose Wajtknecht who isn't 'premiership' ready and I think Grajczonek who I think wants a smaller track. Tungate hopefully will be back fingers crossed. Jake Allen and Brad Wilson Dean at reserve with Starke and Wright at 2 and 4. Perhaps Jack Holder would be a good bet. Bomber Harris seems likely to add top tier heat leader status. 1. Harris 2. Wright 3. Holder 4. Starke 5. Tungate 6. Allen 7. Wilson Dean
  12. Well at least someone can show Poole who is top dogs in the South may the new rivalry begin
  13. Not really still champions of it atm abd we'll be holding the pairs.
  14. Ahh stupid Swindon would have been great to see Doyley back at the OTA
  15. Really not happy about this tbh could have potentially ruined the club, i'll enjoy higher calibre of riders but have to admit I am worried about the future of the club.
  16. Well not considerably happy about it but we're in the top League next season. In for a penny.... I'm sure Jake Allen will still be with us and probably Rohan Tungate and Charles Wright. Heard a rumour about bomber Harris although that would be a massive gamble. Would also be good if we would take a gamble on Doyley even though his average under new rules will be really high.
  17. Haven't got the speedway star, so could you enlighten me please?
  18. Where have these rumours come from because honestly i can't see the hancocks wanting to go Elite
  19. Haven't got the fanbase and those of us there are i'm pretty sure majority wouldn't want to anyway.
  20. No offence but i don't think any of the team would want to go back after the way they have been treated this season.
  21. Well I have a feeling it's going to be one big league with perhaps a north south divide. No Lakeside, Liecester will drop as well imo, other teams will maybe not ride.
  22. Well obviously we have to call for Jake and Bradley, first names on the team sheet. Shanes obviously has grass track to contend with but Bacon, Wajtknecht and Branford are good options for national league reserve. One of Wright and Starke, they can't ride together and both have big averages. Would probably choose Wright as I think Starke will go elsewhere anyway. Tungate, i've heard he may want Elite and abroad next season but would love him back. Then Josh, proved me wrong this year but have heard he wants a smaller track. So would go with: 1. Tungate/ Grajczonek 2. Allen 3. Wright 4. 5.76/ 5.87 5. Holder 6. Wilson Dean 7. Wajtknecht, Bacon, Shanes (not sure what average Branford would be or if he qualifies)
  23. Was an absolutely fantastic night, started off really tense up to the Rebels first 5-1, then we just seemed to take control and the crowd livened up, a big crowd at that. I'm not going to rate who rode well and who didn't as every single rider rode their heart out, including Greaves despite his score. The track was prepared well but kept changing due to the weather, as mentioned by Grajczonek. Was very funny at the start of the meeting with both captains playing pass the parcel with gate positions. The racing was ok but got better as it went on, few jump starts which weren't pulled back but non of them really contributed to the final scoreline. Credit must go to Sheffield and especially Howarth who toasted the fans and had the guts to speak on the centre green. Also to Wells, how he stayed on his bike in one heat no one knows. Also a special mention to Garry May who allowed some of the kids to hold the trophy at the end.
