  1. Could even be that Tigers will feel they need points from Berwick to top the table (and get first pick in play-offs). Which should make them even more-interested in being at Shielfield.
  2. Except -- Kevin admitted last night (despite a heroic performance) that he was 'pretty bashed up' after the crash on Wednesday........... At Sheffield, Berwick's best hope (by far) would lie with Dany Gapp.
  3. Detailed fully on Jamie's page in last night's programme.
  4. I asked out of curiosity, wondering if the avid followers of Bandits' fortunes on here were supportive of the 5-1 scheme.
  5. A genuine question to regular Berwick posters on here: how many of us have taken a 5-1 number in the new fundraising scheme?
  6. In fact this was later amended, by the interval they announced they only had "about 40" numbers left. Which is very good news.
  7. Well, a few years ago Richard Hall got a month's ban for assaulting Josh Auty after he reckoned he'd been naughty at Scunthorpe. And a couple of seasons later Rohan Tungate got a month's ban for assaulting, er, Josh Auty after he reckoned he'd been naughty at Scunthorpe.
  8. Might the organisers -- the Supporters Club, I understand -- set up a sales point inside the stadium on race nights, explaining about, advising on and selling numbers for the new 5-1 scheme? More likely to catch interest before and during matches from regular, but non-involved, spectators than requiring they visit the Black and Gold after racing.......
  9. Just tell us, where does the BSPA have any place in this dream world you have in Kent? As far as the rest of the world is concerned, they just aren't involved in any part of this ..........
  10. A rare off-night fixture at Shielfield Park, with Bandits no doubt still bouncing after their 26-point defeat of Eastbourne and Scunny perhaps anxious to start earning after recent home and away rain-offs. Spectators who were at Saturday's match are reminded to bring their programme back -- although there will be extra copies to hand for the absent-minded! (As l see Doddering George has now added a comprehensive alternative thread for this meeting, l'd suggest we go to that one, to save his lip from quivering too much)..
  11. The promotions ARE the BSPA. Decisions reached at AGM for a new season are discussed and voted on by ALL promotions!
  12. Bandits were quite OK to bring in their reserves to Heat 15 - they were their top scorers, with 10+1 and 9+3 respectively!
  13. You mean, you didn't have your buxom PA at your side, keeping you right?
  14. If following the model at other clubs (not just speedway) it will be year-round, and people can have as many numbers as they like. Totally agree this is a great move by club and supporters. The supporters have proved their ability to raise funds in the past, and channeling this ability towards funding the continuation of speedway in Berwick is a terrific move. All power to the new effort - a big 5-1 for the Bandits!
  15. Kyle Newman also crashed out last night, might be a bit sore this morning.
  16. Kevin had also been booked by Glasgow to replace the suspended Claus Vissing at Ashfield tonight, but this meeting has now been postponed.
  17. If the process goes forward, and the appeal is carefully considered but fails and the suspension reimposed - isn't there a danger it might then affect Craig's availability for the play-offs?
  18. I think Jon Cook made that sneer when he learned New Holland tractors - who had apparently turned down a Lakeside request for sponsorship - had linked up with Berwick. He reportedly contacted the NH bosses to tell them they should drop Berwick ("only a tin-pot Northern club" ) and link with the Hammers. Which they immediately - - didn't. Don't think it had anything to do with the late lamented Rockets.
  19. Love these first four posts! TonyO being a realistic optimist and OSS being a glass-half-empty old groaner..... Forums, eh?
  20. BSPA acting fairly, following a precedent and indeed, sticking up for the little club. Full marks!
  21. The funeral of Alan Taylor (youngest son of Danny & Liz, and a former Shielfield second-halver) will be at Holytown (Lanarkshire) Crematorium on Friday (16th) at 3.30pm.
