As previously mentioned, Simon Nielsen was clearly in pain after his coming together with Brady Kurtz. Credit to young Brady who himself took a heavy knock, (head first into the air fence) quickly getting to his feet and hauling his bike off of Nielsen's bike, which was also lying on top of Simon's leg. By the time both machines were removed, Nielsen's boot was actually smouldering, so good news to hear he didn't suffer serious burns.
The racing was top drawer with the Rebels riders treating the crowd with some high speed, daring passes.
Danny King was in awesome form, looking perfectly at home on the OTA, which he hadn't ridden since 2006.
Robbo was there or thereabouts and always prepared to mix it with the Somerset riders but the rest of the Diamonds didn't look up for the battle.
The highly respected and experienced George English left the tactical's far too late in my opinion. Heats 11 and 12? They were 10 down as early as heat 7. By the time king wore the black and white helmet in heat 11, the Rebels were away and gone in the distance.
