Even though they dont publish attendances i guess Belle Vue Poole Cov and possibly Swindon and Wolves had the biggest crowds, but we'll never know.

What size crowds the Comets getting these days?

Can't remember what they were in 63, too long ago!

Somerset V Wolves Friday 5th May 19;30

I would go more often if it was nearer. -
But it is still better than the 150 that were there when I went. We ain't gonna see 80000 again as my dad who was a Wembley fan told me about. Those halcyon days of Speedway being second to football are over but I love the racing as much now as I did at New Cross in 1963.

Agree...there were a few Robins fans that were prepared to give their time for free to distribute leaflets to homes and businesses. They heard nothing from the club. They need to get fans more involved. After races always have victory lap, go into the crowd after meetings, like they used to, to have pics taken and sign autographs. Very little rapport between riders and fans. If every club had racing as good as Zummerzet and promoting as good as IOW and Glasgow the sport wouldn't be on a downer.

Certainly some friendly fans and a friendly goat! The race I saw between Josh G and Doyley a couple of weeks ago was one of the best ever. Superb arena and if all racing and clubs were like this speedway wouldn't be on such a downer. No better sport for me when you see this kind of entertainment.Hope the Rebs fans don't give up on them because of their poor home results. What size crowds are they getting at OTA? -
I dont have the actual figures actually why not do some research?

Allez le Bellego!!!
-
Only 1 was. 3 excellent meetings, and 2000 plus crowds for the Abbey meetings. Considering the whiney whiners are saying " I ain't gonna go no more coz they avent built a new stadium", the crowds have been good. Regardless you have to stand on a grass bank looking through a fence in an outdated stadium. Belle Vue's crowds have shown a big increase. Still agree that eventually there should be one big league. League speedway will always survive in one form or other, always has.

I think fans aren't interested in one-sided matches, these 60 plus v.20 plus scores. All 3 matches I've seen this year have been exciting last heat deciders.
-
Swindon Zummerzet Poole Wolves Belle Vue don't know about the other 3 clubs? Wouldn't have thought many other clubs get over 1000.With the quality of racing at OTA deserve big crowds regularly...a fantastic venue. Cov always got decent crowds. Swindon used to get 4-10000 when I went 60s/70s.

Four blank Thursdays in a row for Swindon, won't keep the fans interested, especially as they are on a 5 match unbeaten run. The weather makes a massive difference.

The under strength Wolves will do well to win this. If Doyley had been absent for Swindon doubt if I would have made the 150 mile round trip. -
Top 10 averages Lindgren Morris Doyle Cook Thorsell Bjerre Bellego Andersen Hougaard Nicholls
-
They were unfortunate against Swindon, the 2 efs probably cost them a win on that fantastic night of racing and the superb last heat by Bellego, Doyley, Josh G.
-
You certainly can't, my bruv was at Gillman, and said Watt (now quit)and Sedgy were the fastest. Now Morra is top boy in the Premier. Batch and Kurtz aren't far behind. Zengota won the rider of the year award at Swindon not long ago, very committed rider, shame he couldn't return because of his average. An excellent rider and team man.
-
The Flying Frenchman is proud to ride for the club, always give his all, unlike some Premier riders. Sharing a house with Morra helps them both.
-
Bellego must be the signing of the season, Morra totally different rider from last year. This seven, or maybe with a change at reserve as titles are won with a strong pairing, can only go onwards and upwards. Great form from the boys at the moment.

3 out of 4 away wins at Poole, Somerset, Rye, lost at Leicester. Rosco loves it when his teams are written off. Great form from Doyley, Morra, Bellego. -

He probably will be but after his crap season last year good to see him top for a wee while. You expect Freddie, Doyley, wot no Noddy!to be at top, good to see Cookie, Bellego, Bjerre, Batch, Thorsell, Josh G, starting well for their clubs
