First meeting at The Abbey for over a month, The Turbo Trio face Holder Batch and Lambert on Thursday. The Gap makes his debut. Hope weather will be ok...Will go 52-40 to the Rampant Robins, on good run 5 matches without defeat. Followed by tough trips to Manchester and Wolverhampton.

It's too far...what chanting do they have?...Morra, Morra, Morra oi oi oi! He does what he wants he does what he wants Lewis Bridger he does what he wants...Gappmaier whoa whoa whoa Gappmaier whoa whoa whoa. There should be more chanting and general leaping and jumping around, its like a morgue at Swindon sometimes. Perhaps I should start it...He wins when he wants Jason Doyle he wins when he wants...Go Go Bellego, and the Morra one. They used to have 2468 who do we appreciate...ROBINS...ROBINS. Apart from a few pathetic fans shouting We Hate Oxford when they get off the train at Swindon after going to the Cardiff GP no chanting.

What was attendance last night, are crowds up on last year?

Leicester V Wolves 15th May
keef robin replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Massive win, Wolves must be faves now to finish top, Belle Vue and Poole looking vulnerable after the surprise home defeats to unfancied Somerset and Swindon. Hope the league stays close, don't want to see Leicester and Somerset as whipping boys. Have Wolves never finished top, they've won it a few times? -
And Swindon will be history if they don't hurry up and build this bloody new stadium.
-
Well done Jase, lying second in GP.

Over the years there have been local derbies against Oxford, Reading, Bristol, Newport, Soton, sadly all gone. Used to watch speedway in London, at New Cross, Wimbledon, WHam, Ackney, in the 60s. Swindon's derbies now against Poole and Somerset over 70 miles away. Cov was about 70.

As soon as I saw Tunno at number 1 I thought they're gonna be in trouble. Lucky for them that Josh and Patrick have improved. A good move for the Rebs to move up, with local derbies against Swindon and Poole, the Championship is too northerly based for them. How many more fans are they getting in the top div?

Well done Doyley -
The double thickness red n purple one is from the 2012 champions season. I'm too tight to buy a new one. Good to see folk from Bstoke making the 90 mile round trip to Swindon. Also get fans from Bath Bristol Gloucester Chelts Oxford Reading Wales Southampton.

How do you carry that lot!? Chair, drink, bar of choc, Swindon red and purple scarf if cold, English flag at Cardiff only. Never hear chanting at speedway now which is a pity.

Fans Faves And Not So Faves!

Never met Bob or Briggo, both scored maxes in my first meeting at The Abbey 1968, Swindon 56 Belle Vue 22 -
Which riders past and present are willing to have a chat with the fans, nowadays riders don't seem as accessible. Always found Simon Stead, Jason Doyle easy to chat to, and Nick Morris was sat in a local Swindon pub with us watching the speedway on tv. Past Robins riders such as Malc Holloway, Rosco, Charlie Gjedde, Martin Ashby, Barry Duke, Mike Keen, Geoff Bouchard, etc.,are friendly geezers. Up at Worky fans were allowed in the pits post match, all the Comets were accessible. Aidan Collins, Rusty Harrison, etc., always had time for a chat along with Shane Parker. Never found Leigh Adams easy to chat to or a few of the ex-Swedish Robins.

Always found Jason Doyle and Morra accessible, Leigh Adams and Batch not so.

Perhaps they will just erect it in Port Talbot and transfer the Robins to Wales. Tommo is after some votes with the forthcoming election

Swindon Sprockets - Plymouth Devils 11.5.17
keef robin replied to A ORLOV's topic in National League Speedway
That was called off quickly has been dry for at least an hour, after that downpour between 3.30-4.30. -
You see very few kids playing cricket or even football in the street now. Used to watch test cricket on the Beeb then you wanted to go out and play the game. Sky and computer games probably changed that. Dont see kids doing cycle speedway now either.

That's the chappie, got the t-shirt, beat Scotty easily then disappeared! Tiny little fella. Is it Dany or Danny?
