  1. The object of my post was to alert those who knew him well and could possibly offer help not to arouse speculation, it would be helpful and preserve dignity if Technik's post and refernces could be removed please.
  2. Despite so many of us knowing Tony the Coroners Office has today put out a public request for information to help them trace relatives. The Leicester Mercury has the full details and contact information for anyone who may be able to help. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/local-news/coroner-steps-up-hunt-find-9471654?utm_source=mynewsassistant.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=embedded_search_item_desktop
  3. If you look at all the risks involved in racing in front of the public then the BSPA/L, SCB, ACU, FIM Global model has almost an unlimited value as far as liability is concerned. Heaven forbid that there is ever a multiple casualty claim but £10m (which is the usual business sum assured) of public liability wouldn't go very far in this day and age.
  4. Please see my post above, the outcome of Lord Shawcross's inquiry following the Provincial League is what we have today and it is legally enforceable albeit expensive. I don't necessarily agree with it but it is what it is. The ACU hold all the cards and if they contractually delegate "Speedway" to the SCB then that is what we've got.
  5. I agree with most of 1 Valves replies it is the nearest the truth that can be conveyed and easily understood. This all goes back to the Shawcross report and the implementation of its recommendations. Track racing in the UK became the responsibility of the RAC/ACU under FIM Rules, The ACU contractually devolved the responsibility for managing Speedway to the SCB who in turn authorise the staging of the sport to the BSPA/L under licence. This pyramid provides the security to manage risk and/or litigation from anywhere in the pyramid to the top. To complicate matters further all organisers and competitors in any motor sport require the protection of the "Off Road Motor Sport" regulations which can only be through a recognised association properly constituted, adequately insured with established racing and racing circuit criteria. There's a bit more to it but basicly racing machines do not have to comply with the road traffic acts and construction and use regulations. Similarly a competitor cannot be prosecuted under those acts for say dangerous driving or overtaking on the inside as examples. The pyramid has remained intact for decades until Nora came along and set up a compliant model that mirrored the ACU on a smaller scale consequently there was not a strong enough reason to prevent Nora licencing/staging track racing or any other motor sport, they put everything in place. Now we've all seen the kicking and screaming coming from the bottom of the Pyramid but as long as Nora remain compliant I don't see a way of stopping them as long as they do not call it Speedway racing as that type of racing is legally the responsibility of the ACU in the UK. NB. The Off Road Motor Sport Regulations work slightly different in Scotland, very often the Police have to attend to verify that it is an off road event.
  6. Wrong!!!! Since he left British Speedway behind is more accurate, F all to do with Kings Lynn. At that time the SCB not the BSPA/L refused to let him ride a 500cc motorcycle so Robert et al upped sticks and effed off to Germany. Despite that Robert is fully committed and moreso once he has agreed to race for any club and this is all subject to his ongoing commitments. He gives his word and he keeps it so the diary has to work or he ain't doing a Laguta !!! Please don't speculate on someone/something that you do not fully understand, it really is time someone banged your speculative inconsiderate opinions where they belong.
  7. Just picked this as a random example; TTT Members 1,372 3,797 posts Team:Ipswich Witches, Lejonen Gislaved and Motor Lublin Report post Posted August 24, 2023 (edited) The most blatant average manipulation you'll ever see. Rowe & S. Lambert putting up 26+2 lol. Edited August 24, 2023 by TTT
  8. Include plenty of recycling bin storage and cycle storage across the piece and Clark's yout uncle !
  9. I agree but in trying to protect his investment they offered him just over 3 months so to get a full season of racing it had to be a compromise outcome. Right or wrong it was his money going down the toilet.
  10. Had Chapman not gone quietly then Peterborough would have closed a year sooner
  11. The consent of the home federation/governing body (PZM)is required before start permission can be given by the ACU (devolved to SCB) and a certificate of sponsorship is then applied for. The Polish clubs now effectively have a veto by recalling their rider or not sanction start permission. It's very messy but when it works it works well but it's a farce when British riders are recalled for practice or sponsors activity and can't race for their British club the day before a crucial meeting in Poland.
  12. Not quite, the Polish clubs have to agree start permission for their rider and withdraw it when it suits so they simply recall their rider. They did the same with Laguta last year on a match by match basis by issuing sick/injury notes through their track doctor. The game was up when they told KL by telephone that he'd had an injury but didn't tell their Doctor so he put a note out saying he had food poisoning! Disgraceful behaviour but the conspiracy theorists blamed Chapman when in fact he was the victim.
  13. Last time I was there it was the medical room and static but that may have changed
  14. It's only just feasible Steve because the gap between the costs in both leagues is partially filled by the tv money so the net losses are not too dissimilar. If you take away some of the egotistical sponsorship and take into account three or four of your riders could be doubling up and demanding Premiership money in the Championship you can see how difficult it is to run successfully in either league. There are still clubs in both leagues trying to buy (win) the league by throwing brewsters at riders so as always there are have's and have nots and in my opinion this is doing more long term harm to the sport than some of Buster's strokes. In fairness to him he can't say "owing to the stadium being unavailable " like others have done so has to be more "creative". He must be thinking every day "when I'm up to my ass in crocodiles I wish I'd never entered the swamp in the first place". As some of us know he was not the architect of King's Lynn entering the Elite League.
  15. And your hourly dig at him, you've made your point every day for the last 6 - 12 months don't you think it's time to give the rest of us a break?
  16. Of course, this goes back two years now to when Leicester were joining the PL there simply wasn't enough rider resource. Had Wolverhampton not closed and some of the bigger players not come back with Oxford replacing Peterborough it could have been worse this season, look at the struggle Birmingham have had just to build a team. If there is a bad run of injuries across other clubs the outcome will be dire for both leagues. I don't agree with not running but I do agree with his right to make a stand unfortunately he won't enjoy the support of his colleagues in the BSPL
  17. Totally agree but when the BSPL decided to agree specific race nights for the UK Buster told them the Polish authorities wouldn't abide by the agreement. He knew they couldn't be trusted and made it very clear he did not want to keep changing race nights to accommodate the Polish clubs and if the BSPL went ahead with the agreement he didn't want to be a part of it. He made it abundantly clear that as there were not enough riders to go round the British clubs would be at the mercy of the Poles. He had more than a belly full of their antics with Laguta last year. He has to make a stand otherwise the BSPL will continue to roll over.
  18. Unfortunately there is no normal life for Jason, he is a talent on two wheels, very funny and a likeable guy but the but goes a long way back. Jason was kept out of a secure place to stay because of his ability on a Speedway bike when Chris Morton and David Gordon agreed/were persuaded by the probation services to train him and give him an opportunity to change his life. Those commitments kept him out of custody but when it came to formally signing a contract other clubs stepped in so off he went and became effectively unsupervised. The rest is fairly well known the negative almost feral influences around him put him back to square one. Others from our sport were influenced by Jason and got into similar difficulties with the authorities, one I know is certainly not riding anymore. What you see is what you get with Jason it's the bags and baggage that will be the problem I'd put him in a team tomorrow but wouldn't allow his entourage anywhere near a Speedway track.
